our hood is 80cm away from the table top so we (or actually just me, hubby still too tall haha) won't bump our heads on it while cooking. for this fujioh the recommended installation height is 70-80cm. mr k warned me that 80cm is taller than usual, and that he installed many fujioh hoods at 70-75cm before with no problems, but i was quite insistent la so he adjusted the carpentry to accommodate my stubbornness :P hehe. another view with our philips ceiling light reflected in the glossy top cabinets blum drawers we are using all blum drawers for lower cabinets, except under the sink. top cabinets with soft closing. and the dry side of the kitchen with the breakfast nook.

haha no where near chemical wash! went up to the new place last night cos mr k asked me to go see smth to give him go ahead and pick up quartz samples... and i was shocked that my carpentry was up! i didn't expect it at all cos i kept reminding him to tell me when he was going to do carpentry... and he didn't specifically say anything about it AT ALL. surprise of my life...... hahaha but very good surprise la. i only opted for blum in the kitchen. the rest are not blum but are fully extending! didn't expect this either so i'm very pleased :) will upload pix in a while!

yup you're right. he's a busy man haha. i had to wait over a month for my first meet up with him too. i wasn't in a rush so i was ok with it. have to be quite patient throughout reno too.. haha he takes a bit longer than other IDs/contractors.

Hi my contractor is Mr K from H2O Interior Renovation, 9022 2321. You can find quite a number of his projects on renotalk and i'd say that majority of these have the craftbrick wall. haha. I'm spending about 27k.

yup i've gotten most of my stuff. very kiasu right. i'm ALL READY to move in once the house is done hahaha. great that you confirmed your carpentry! it seems like it'll take a couple of weeks of manufacturing in the factory so it's back to waiting.. boo. my carpentry discussion was chop chop. i told mr carpenter, he confirmed with me, drew it out and we were done. barely any back and forth lol. lightings shopping was the most tedious part for me.. ugh. hope it goes smoothly for you! it can go wherever electric storage heaters are meant to go. for my BTO, that place was the common bathroom where the concealed pipes were all done up, so that's where my multipoint heater went it's not very unsightly i guess. it's slightly fatter than an instant heater, and has a couple of short pipes running out of it, but that's it. what you see is what you get. some plumbers use metal pipes, mine used flexible hose. the plumber who installed for me added a tap so in case any leakages happen i can turn it off right there instead of cutting off the water mains.

i think it's recommended to have at least 40cm of space between the sink and cooker for you to put down pans/pots for practicality's sake. Otherwise, i don't think safety is an issue, but do check with the professionals on this. my fans are not installed by mr k's guys so he's not charging for installation

nope it's not switched on all the time. the switch is outside the common bathroom, same as the switch of a storage heater. i got the electricians to help remove the extra heater switch that was outside the MBR bathroom since it's now useless. it's kinda combines the best of both instant and storage heaters -- "instant" hot water (takes about 15 seconds actually, water needs to travel through the pipes), and just one heater supplying hot water using the HDB concealed piping to the two showers + two bathroom mixer taps like a storage heater.

hi welcome! looking forward to seeing your reno progress

I got it at Chelsea Lighting, same place I bought my fans. it's $280. installation is additional $100 and is covered under warranty. my contractor was not familiar with multi point heaters so I left installation to the heater vendor.

hi i paid $280 for the Crestar fan + $25 for the wall speed regulator. installation is usually $40 per fan, but since i bought four fans, they just charged me $40 for installation of all four fans out of goodwill. got my fans from Chelsea Lighting, near Chinese Garden MRT.

gas pipe installation was uneventful. gas guy arrived early and was done in under 45 minutes. no pix! forgot to take cos i was too busy enjoying the fan breeze haha..... more pics of the house with lights and fans: living room day time with lights off living room day time with lights on living room night time with lights on (you can see that the kitchen is pitch dark). the six 10W LED down lights + 5 7W LED track lights are plenty bright enough for the space. the pic doesn't show it well, but the space is realllyyy bright. experimented with a few combinations, and if we're just watching TV, just the track lights are enough. for eating and reading, we'll turn on the row of four down lights bedroom night time with down lights bedroom night time with down lights and fan light kit. there is only a small difference with the light kit turned on. the light also has a "muddy" look, which i don't really like. i much prefer the "cleaner" light that the LED down lights give. probably cos the light kit's wattage is too low, like i mentioned in the previous post.

today was a packed day! we planned for fan + heater installation, and also gas installation. went out to buy lunch about noon and came back to find mr k's carpentry guy at our place too. so we also had an impromptu carpentry discussion and finalised everything and thennnn after we left the new home for dinner, qoo10 called to deliver our blinds! ok first up, fan installation. installed the Crestar Twin Air 48" in matte black in the living room. nice and sleek with good wind. and the Acorn Ventilateur 203 42" in white for each of the bedrooms, with light kit. round and super cute. love it! good wind too. the two energy saving bulbs included in the light kit are not very bright, but it's an easy-to-fix problem. will probably replace the bulbs with higher wattage ones in time to come. the Crestar didn't require balancing, but the Acorn did (the installer didn't tell me; i noticed little black weights on the top of the fan blades ). our installer was a one-man show and he took almost three hours to install the four fans. all ran smooth and quiet. no sounds at all! very pleased. next was heater installation! we opted for the Bennington C600 multi-point heater. it's installed in the common bathroom where storage heaters will normally go, and supplies hot water to both common and MBR showers and sink mixer taps when turned on we read of some water pressure issues before purchasing so we tested it right after installation was completed. ran hot showers in both bathrooms and found that the water pressure didn't drop.
