there is no waiting time actually! maybe cause nowadays the water piping very short the very first time we use the storage heater ... we let it on for ~20 mins before we start using. then there was once i tried going to bath immediately i switch on, thinking its ok to rinse some cold water first since weather is so hot. but surprisingly, i have hot water to use almost immediately, like withing 30 sec kind! so subsequently i didn't wait anymore ..... another incident, hub already switched on the heater and bathed in the morning. then in the afternoon he only wanted a quick rinse of water so he didn't switch on the heater, but still can enjoy the remaining stored hot water from morning. but we have not tried using both toilet to shower at the same time yet......

kuche all working good!! am using washer, dryer n oven from kuche. the washer & dryer are those very basic kind. each have those pre-set programmes for different types of clothes, which i don't really know how to use and what they can do .... after trying out afew programme i'm sticking to washer: standard 30 oC & dryer: 90 mins (for thick material like jeans) or 60 mins (eg normal thin t-shirts). i thot my first oven usage is to bake some cakes ... but no! hahaha my first attempt with the oven is to bake chicken drumstick! the feedback for the chicken is good, the meat is tender and the skin is crispy

-
11 May is the official move in date for us! *image borrowed from ygblog4 bought this charcoal stove and 柴、米、油、盐、酱、醋、茶 to the new house early in the morning (auspicious time: 7-9am) the charcoal was lit up till flaming bright red and brought into the kitchen by hub ... we then use the flaming fire to cook a pot of water and use it to make tea .... we then spend the whole afternoon buying some stuff, tidying up the house and preparing for dinner at night .... we then end the day with steamboat dinner with my hub's parents ... a simple and cosy shifting in for us

i dono i got so sway or not ... monday sofa deliver wrong colour. yesterday my osim chair came and then produce very loud motor noise when switched on .... m so sad. but what i want to compliment is osim's before and after sales service ... my sales representative is really awesome la~ i told him abt this prob ... he told me its not normal and immediately escalate to the customer service department for me ... he oso ask me to inform him if they nv call me today. anyway i want to review about the taobao items bought so far: 1) rainshower - very good. sleek looking and almost half the price of those similar kinds i saw in stores. having been using it afew times alr and is enjoying after a long day of house cleaning. i am using 25L joven storage heater, and so far never out of hot water. 2) kitchen tap - very happy with the purchase too. nice design. 3) dual service yard tap - haven't attach my washing machine to it, but it looks ok. 4) modal bedsheet - we buy this as testing for our guest room's bed. somehow the smallest size taobao sell is super single, but we still insist of buying =X .... nv regret of this buy as the material is really soft and smooth ... now the single size bed hav lotsa extra cloth chuck underneath the mattress .... 5) dustbin that can automatically open the lid by sensor detection - its fun to play with the dustbin ... it look quite nice, though i think the photo looks nicer. other than that haha it jus a dustbin lo =X 6) ceramic coaster - it wasn't the kind of coaster i'm looking for, which couldn't be differentiate from the photo. so this wasn't the seller fault, but this wasn't the right purchase. alittle disappointed when i receive the goods but tts the risk of online shopping will be coming up with a new shopping list of accessories from taobao soon!

Thanks guys for the greetings! The weekends are burnt doing cleaning up. Cleaning has never been that fun hehe, and we really can’t hide our excitement that the reno is finally over … it is really A VERY TIRING PROCESS clearing all the thick dust formed during reno. But well, hehe very happy though tired. The floors are all VERY CLEAN. When I say VERY CLEAN I meant it. I think we have lyk vacuum X5 and mop X5 …. Hub purposely scheduled the TV and starhub guys to come down on last Friday so there will be entertainment while cleaning … I think this is a very good move! Hehehe u will appreciate it especially when u r eating the dabao food during lunchtime We first prioritised the living room and bedrooms because delivery was scheduled yesterday. Sofa, dining set, bedframe for mbr, and guest room bed all came yesterday … now my living room doesn’t look spacious anymore … we r now left with kitchen cabinets and bomb shelter to clean up this weekend, and we r done! i will take photos after i finish cleaning .... The sofa delivered yesterday came in the wrong colour … they say we can sit on the sofa first while they arrange an exchange for us in due course. Hai… nth is perfect in this world. But on a happy note, the sofa is really comfy! We then end yesterday by vacuuming the floor, again. Hahaha hub commented I’m going to have OCD. MY OSIM IS COMING TODAY LEH!! i can't wait to end work immediately lyk now

After delaying for more than 3 weeks .... The wait is finally over!! Today is supposed to be the handover day, but they r gg to do a last minor paint touch up tml. The carpentry r all FINALLY DONE We jus close eyes on those mini faults n try not to pin point them. OMG I think my hse look s nice n diff with the curtains up its jus lyk the Chinese saying: 画龙点睛 ... they jus complete everything ... Actually I should give the credit to my ID for putting up such a nice hse for me ... I nv regret breaking away frm the 1st ID and switch over to u ... If only ur electrician don do strange things ... n carpenter b more on the ball, ur team will b perfect .. N jus because we told the ID we r not in a rush to move in doesn't mean we have infinite time to do it. The ID can suddenly do handover on time when we very firmly (n show our unhappiness/disappointment) demand it to b done by Friday. B4 tt .... He jus allow his workers to take their time to do n keep dragging n delaying. Again, he would b perfect if he could jus stick to his schedule. So as scheduled, the philips guy came dwn to do tv mounting n starhub guy came dwn to install the home humber ... We r then glued to the tv for awhile b4 we left the hse for dnr ... I can't hide my excitement .... never been so happy to do cleaning n house chores lol .....

Thnx kstoh for the info ... at least I knw it's norm Anyway ... Hub went down to discuss w id n carpenter abt the oven issue jus nw, n highlights the remaining stuff to rectify. The carpenter say he gonna do n finish on Friday ... I dono if he is so power .. well let's c ... After reading back the entry I posted this morning ... I guess I sounded quite harsh :X ... I shan't let emotions override my hands, n shld just stay cool. Deltay is so sway, gotten my ranting post for nth. Paiseh Deltay pls don take it too serious ... I must b too stress I shall stay cool from now onwards as I count down to Friday (hopefully) for handover.

sorry, not in the mood to share this kind of thing now after my v sad hse visit ytd, hope u udn. i have pm some pple who asked me previously, but i have decided not to share the company name from now onwards. what i can say is, my reno cost ard 35k. ultimately, my main objective of writing this blog is to pen down the reno process ... share and discuss with pple as we are very inexperienced and new home owners. not to advertise my id. i mean i cant say he is bad. i really hv no issue with the id himself, but hav every issue with his other people, especially the electrician & carpenter ... i dono how bad or good others are, becos i only read but didn't deal with them. some very jialat ones will scold u, will run away with ur $. some very good ones really giv u a peace of mind and u hav nth to worry. my id is neither very good nor very bad. i would say my id is just a normal average one, but not the perfect one. there is still alot of things u need to follow closely, not the kind u can handover the house n forget everything. but i'm glad no matter wad happen, i go to my id he didn't run away, and willing to absorb everything i said. that's a very good point of him that i appreciate. other than that ...........................................

anyone out there can share how their built-in oven sits in the cabinet? i meant the 4 corners where the oven/cabinet comes in contact ... i think the carpenter did quite a shabby job on tt ... but i dono how it actually shld look like cos this is my 1st built-in oven .... anyway this is the 2nd installation for my oven. the 1st time it totally cannot push inside cos he say the gas piping was blocking the way which he didn't take into acct for .... so he removed my whole tall unit, ask sp service rewire the gas pipe, put back everything. now, on surface it looks ok. BUT the oven was not screwed and secured to the cabinet, basically u can pull out the cabinet lyk tt ... we found the screw hole which is supposed to secure the oven to the cabinet body empty .... and also, the bottom of the oven, has strange gaps which i dono isit normal (i forgot take photo for this) ... i jus doesn't seems right and u can c all the wood debris and dust there .... i dono how much dust can b trapped there over the years if i were to just accept this .... actually i wasn't sure about tt cos i knw u need some ventilation for the oven .... but my gut feel is not tt kind of gap ... it looks lyk defects more than that. anyway my oven was slightly scratched with the taking in and out; here and there and still some small small minor adjustments ard the house which can be quite easy and fast. (i assumed) the proposed plan: ytd was supposed to finish rectifying the carpentry, so subsequent painting/tiling touch up, installing of bomb shelter rack + curtain can fall in. handover on friday. but after the check ytd ... haaaiii .. i hope the proposed schedule still follows. *bless me guys.
