All Tanglin Halt Road Neighbours! Report In Here!

That is a tricky thingy. Police can make multiple extra rounds, but after a while, things revert back to the same situation. Unless they install CCTVs, if not, I foresee this situation will not be improved. Next thingy is that our lifts. Just wondering when will they start to "tidy & clean" our lifts. I saw at our lift lobby notice board that its scheduled to wash our block on certain dates. But I observed it was not done. Blk 91 corridors are dusty and at certain floors, they are so dirtied. Understand that owners are still doing renovation, but monthly washing does help to improve the situation. Just the same idealogy, if rains dont wash your clothes or car. Hope things will be better in 2008! Huat ah! -

Yes, I have personally seen some of them too. Beside Malay guys (students), I witnessed some young girls loittering at the playground at late night. Think we shd address this to either Town Council or Meet the MP session. It would be easier for those who are victims. Now I fear those who place their shoes/slippers outside their house. What happens one by one disappear or get torn by purpose? -

This is my 3rd mth in my new hse in Blk 91. My latest bill is $60+. I think our bills are alternate, i.e. 1 mth is estimated the other is actual (hence actual may be lower or higher is the previous month estimate is higher/lower respectively). I trust aircon consume the most power, compressor and fan coil. Imagine you on it for 5-8 hrs per night. I hardly on it these few weeks to the cool wind at night. Other appliances are ok cos you dun use it for such similar long hrs, unless PC. Yes, I think we shd feedback to TC abt the millipedes. They are harmless but irritating to see so many crawling around. Imagine they crawl to your house! I got the same problem with my two WC. No choice ... use for a few years then replace lor. Flush once for small Biz, twice for big Biz. I realised that water tank gets refilled very fast. Maybe they did not use up all water for flushing, correct me if I am wrong. Anyone tested? Zirh: why dont u collate the latest list of ppl staying in this esate? I am 30m, Blk 91, <20flr, Unit 314. Skyspectrum. Cheers. -

You will be most regret if you subscribe to MIO. Though cheap but your telephone line must always be connected to the modem, and the modem must always be on --> waste electricity. And its not easy to get an additional point for other rooms. Go for the individual item connection, easy to connect, easy to termininate if dont want in the future. Heard my technical friends said that the modem always jammed n need to restart. Headache after getting it. That is why Singtel is having a great promo to sell this plan package. Please consider seriously. I opt for Singnet 1MB BD @ $33 per mth, and comes with free ethernet modem and free 6 months subscription; i-one + HP polan at $21 (CIS) and Fixed line @ ($25/3=$7.80). Total about $61. Slightly cheaper than MIO and I got all the flexibility. P -

We bought from Lightology @ Balestier. I guess the prices of PLC lights are about the same. Those who claimed very much cheaper, be careful cos the casing is not rust proof (not dye-cast). Also the cheapers ones come with lower voltage (less bright). We spent about $1.5k on lights, all from one shop cos can get better discounts. This was done before the 7% GST .... hehehe .... -

Dear Tanglin co-residents, There will be two primary schools located at the side of Blk 91 in year 2009. Happen to know this fact when both my wife and myself walked towards MDIS along the block perimeters. The two primary schools are New Town and Ghim Moh Primary. Meanign to say enxt time our kids will have a nearby Primary school to study. No need to book bus to travel far far .... but their secondary schools are of average standard though ... New Town Sec and Ghim Moh Sec? wanted to load a photo to show the banner to all chatters here ... but seems not so easy. Anyone can show me how to upload it here? Cheers. -

For me, I think its ok. Anyway, the rooms are of different sizes and I believe you would have chosen different paint colours for each room. Hence, its pretty all right for the different lights. For my house, I bought different lights for the Master Bedroom (PLC lights cos of false ceiling) and Study Rooms (normal rect lights). We bought all the lights from Ligthology @ Balestier. Cheers. -

Hi djulyn, Yes, all Samsung fridges comes without the extra linings. If you compare to other brands, there is an additional white coloured lining that runs along the perimeters. This lining boosts better insulation and also prevent rustings. My mum using a Samsung fridge and indeed there is slight rust at those linings. Different brands differ in workmanship. I've seen one Mitsubishi model and its lining is done badly if compared to its higher end counterparts (i.e. Folio). That is why both my wife and I decided to get the Hitachi fridge. -

Btw, you bought Samsung fridge.... are you aware that there is not proper insulation at the doors .... look carefully at the lines after you open the fridge door. Only Samsung dont have insulation. You are right. Cover walkways are good to have. Maybe they will do so at a later stage, after more residents feedback. I guess the current emphasis will be more internal and external defects. Wait till MP comes and shakes hands, then you tell them formally. Hehehe ... But I agree to your pt of the playground. More like some mini OCS. No swings, no see-saw .... and the merry go round cant seem to move unless you use your mighty arm power or leg kick. Anyway, lets settle our house renovation matters and then divert energy to others .... cheers. -

Hi HOME2BE, nice to meet you here. Have you gotten your ID? I will be meeting mine to finalise details on Monday (11/6). And I will be getting my keys on the following Monday (18/6). To be frank, I did not have any special arrangements with HDB to have my keys earlier. What I did was that I make sure we mail our credit documents soonest after we received HDB letter. Guess you will receive your letter notification this coming week. Btw, which floor are you residing? Trying to know the neighbours staying in Blk 91. Unit 316 got a very nice view, facing Sentosa (sea). My unit facing MacRitchie (hill - san in chinese). Hear from others staying in Blk 91. As for the 2 toilets in 4rm, the WC and basins are both white. The wall tiles look pretty fine for me. No need to spend extra to overlay them. Cheers..... thumbs up! -
