Yes, when must we pay? Confirmed catering or potluck? Maybe we shd paste notice at the lift lobby ... if 50, then ZIRK's house will be cramped big time. All standing to eat. Kekeke ..... Any is the date and venue confirmed? Seems skeptical abt this. These few nights very breezy. Have not been switching on the air con during bedtime. Can save $$$$$. Yeah! -

Thanks dude. Is the connection good so far? Anyway, is the gathering been confirmed? THink less and less ppl are here after they settled in their new homes. Hard to ensure ppl get notified as well unless there is other mode of contact, e.g. email or msn. Cheers. -

Perhaps its the fast fingers that is doing the oops ... anyway, doesnt matter to me. Smoking harms the person holding to the cigarette, both internally as well as walletly. Cheers. -

Sorry .... I wasnt the one who wrote this ...anyway, we shd condemn residents who smoked and threw butts out of the windows. I support reporting to Police or if we spot anyone doing that, go to that unit and demand an explanation and compensation, if any. -

The government is smart. They purposely dont want to release all units at one go. Give the SERS and 1st/2nd ballot, offering the SERS & 1st balloting at a 1st tier pricing. All susbsequent ballotings will come at a premium to offset what costs that were not factored in for all repairs/rectification works, e.g. exchange toilet bowls, change tiles, etc.. The same floor area at the same floor is now selling at 40-50k more expensive, bad for the new bidders, good news for the current flat owners like you and me here. But in any case, Tanglin/Queenstown is still one of the best mature estates to stay in. Worth paying the premium. Cheers! Yes Armani. I got the same question as you. I want to remove the cloth hangar catch at the kitchen. Its preventing us the maximum drying area. For a 7" long bamboo stick, I can only hang 3-4 shirts as both ends need to be catered for the catch. If you know what I meant. how? -

Have updated mine status in the listing above. But would it be better if we can list down which block we are residing, plus the band of floor (e.g. 15-20; 21-25; 26-30...). Easier to borrow salt next time. hehehe. -

My contractor uses primarily Msians and one was a Singaporean. The latter was good as he was able to come on Saturday to rectify my house. Anyway, you never know what you will get .... contract never state they must use non-China workers. Hehehehe ..... millipedes are back .... yes .... let's use our almighty legs when we walk .... be careful. -

Hi JS21, are you staying at >25flr? My neigbhour staying 1 floor below also smoke at the windows. At times, this Malay family cooks farnie dishes that both my wife and I cant tolerate it and need to quickly close the windows too. If they need to smoke, perhaps they shd go to the open air at the void deck and smoke. Worst is when we just wash our clothes and hang out just above the "smoking chamber". Hi, are you intending to get a MJ Table? I went to several places, including HV, Chinatown, ABC and Queensway. Some of them sell the same model but at varied prices. There is one model, the cheapest one, with steel brackets at the 4 corners, some are selling $38, some retail it at $45. I ask the bosses what is the difference. The main difference is the leg. The cheaper one has weaker leg support (with red stopper). The more expensive comes with silver leg with black stopper. This confuses me and end up I did not buy any. Waiting for my relatives to give me a good one, those that can be dismantled after playing (cost abt $180-$200) during my housewarming. At Chinatown PPC, there is one shop selling a nice wooden MJ table at $85 with free delivery. Look for Simon located at level 2. Cheers. -

Wah ... u meant they literally came all the way up to tell you about the noises your hubby created? Maybe next time I shd try gg down to my neighbours and tell them not to smoke at the kitchen windows as the smoke always "flies" into our house via the kitchen. Anyway, new estate means new neighbours lor. What to do? Btw, are you staying in Blk 91? My floor was only washed once back in mid-Dec07. Hopefully they will wash another time in Jan08 (checked the notice at 1st floor notice board, 11-14 Jan). So that our estate/block looks neat and nice when visitors come to visit our new houses during housewarming and CNY. Yes, the weather is very cooling at night. The winds are chilled & strong, and most of the time, I would say no fans or aircon are required for a good soundless night sleep. Btw, anyone has subscribe to Starhub cable for watching ESPN & Soccer? How much now? Good reception? ANyone can recommend what home theatre system? Budget abt $500? Okie, hear fom you again. Cheers. Which block are you residing? Mine (blk 91 just washed before X'mas). Hopefully they can wash a 2nd rd in mid Jan to prepare our blocks for CNY. Yeah! That is why we are paying for conservancy fees. Hehehe. -

Happy New Year to all. its the 2nd working day of 2008! My wife and I were at Esplanda counting down and the fireworks I would were fantastic. We have been counting down to NY and CNY at Esplande coming to almost 5 years consecutive. And the displays are getting better each year, and of course more interesting and grand. Vivocity's cant be compared to that of Esplande though our area is nearer to VC. Congrats to JS21 that you have finally settled down in your unit. Your hubby mut be dead tired by midnight. Both my wife and I slept at ard 2.30am and woke up at ard 11am in the morning. Hehehe .... I saw the contractors are laying some concrete at the roadside facing the chicken rice stall. Are they expanding the road or pathway for us to walk or both? Now the millipedes king & queen are out for holiday. Can really see the fat long brownish millipedes. Though harmless, they look awful and maybe the birds see them also fly away. Okie, hear from the neighbours again and dreamz ... on a rainy Thursday morning! -

Congrats! Which blk/flr are you staying? House warming must invite us along hor .... Btw, my floor (<20) was "jet sprayed" by the HDB ppl on 26 Dec. Now looks nicer but walls still stained with workers' fingerprints and some other stains. Can we buy our own paints and do some touchup? Can get the colour close to theirs. Comments? Now the millipedes problems are less, cos I observed there are birds eating them. One problem solved but another new problem. The birds desposited their "white gold" at Blk 89 2nd flr, facing the walking path towards Seng Siong. Scarely got bird flu?? Hehehe Really heart pain to see our walls getting dirty and more dirty each week. Will the TC do some touchups? Now counting down to 2008! I like to see the fireworks at Esplanade. Live sparkling effects are shiok! -
I can sense how eager guys want to collect keys and start renovation soonest. Its part and parcel of a couple life together. Jalan together, scout together, bargain together (some dont), grumble and sometime quarrel, shake hand and compromise on items to buy. Renovation is one big part of the game, to ensure work done is worth the $ you paid. And constant monitoring is crucial to ensure deliverables are to expectations. Good planning is a must for requesting of delivery of other ordered items, e.g. electricals, furniture, and etc. Usually one party (husband or wife) will take charge while the other party do the planning of wedding, if these two events are close to each other. For my case, I did both. No complains but a great sense of satisfaction at the end of the day. Job well done! Thumbs up! My 4 rm is 90sqm at Tanglin Halt. Friends who came to visit us said our 4 rm are quite spacious. Not too sure how the 4rm at Membina looks like. Went to the Toa Payoh blog and some of them said 4rm is as small as 75sqm. Imagining in a studio appt. Okie, PM if you need any further advice or discussions. Cheers & Merry Xmas!!!

Wow, you are daring to buy things from Courts. For us, Courts and others are cases of showroom. Afterwhich, we went to neighbourhood shops to get them. Uusually cheaper. If the agents are able to offer Courts/Best Denki/Harvey good offers, they would extend the offers to the shops as well. We did not opt for Korea and NZ products as it would be difficult to service IF in event something happen. And usually their customer services are not as extensive and accessible than other established Japanese brands, e.g. Mitsubishi, Daikin, Hitachi, etc. Price is one factor to consider, but do consider long term factors. Just 2 cents of considerations from another Estate. Cheers.

Hi,I am not complaining that they shd wash the whole 40 floors on one single day. Since they have already scheduled 3 days to do this job, make sure they wash all floors of Blk 91. If not, why do we pay such high conservancy fees in our monthly utility bill? Hope they will clean our corridors soon. Cheers. -

Hi TYM, you said they washed 91 corridor. May I know which floors were those washed? My floor is still as dusty as before. Mine is below 20 flr. I saw the notice board @ 1st flr saying washing scheduled on 24, 26th Dec. I will monitor and feedback here again. Armani: you may visit this website for your storage rack - www.howellstorage.com They supply my office store racks. Still in excellent condition. And by default, they supply the biege colour racks and PVC-coated plywoods. I customised an one-sided rack, 80% to my length of bomb shelter wall. Cost less than $180 including delivery and installation. No hidden costs. Boltess and good service! Yes, you guys are right that the police will not do anything if ppl loitter ard doing nothing harmful. But having said that, harmless doesnt mean not suspicious. Sometimes they are spying on your movements. So still let's continue to monitor, observe and report if spot anything unusual. Wishing all neighbours in 89-91, a Merry Xmas!!!
