Anyone knows if there is a decent adult chin-up bar? Been looking around this neigbourhood but to no avail? Not too sure if there is one at the CC opposite us. Secondly, in view of save the earth campaign, my wife suggested to have recycling bins (like those in Tokyo), by categories - papers, plastics, glass, etc. I think this is a very practical suggestion, so that we can all help to save the poor ozone layer. I am from 91. Realised the public floors and walls are getting dirtier. The areas at the letterboxs are also getting worse. Hope something can be done to improve. If not, our new blocks will be "old" blocks by year end. Though its an established estate, surely some thing can be done. More washing? hahaa

Heard feedback from other forumers that our Tanglin's page has becoming a political page, and no longer talks abt renovations, electricals, furniture and etc. Just a suggestion. Our corridors were washed yesterday. neat and clean now. Yeah! But hope the lifts internal areas can be tided soon. Been more than 6 mths now, hope conditions can further improved, esp the walls and common areas.

Though we close all our windows (including those in the toilets), dust will still be able to get thru the tiny gaps between doors. We make an effort to vacuum and mop our whole house at least once a week. No choice, with the nearby school and roads renovations in place, dust will be here to stay for at least another 3-6 months. Yes, hope security issues can be resolved and addressed soon.

Disagreed. Some of the more established towns they have CCTVs. If security is a main concern, the benefits definitely weigh above the costs of installing CCTV. Good idea that we sign a letter to TC.

If couples (non-residents) want to make out at the corridors, we cant do anything, i.e. beyond our control. But they are harmless. I am more concerned with many ppl loittering around at corridors and void decks. What happens if they now start to appear at our staircases, rubbish area, lift lobbies, etc? Especially those units where ppl can view directly from the common corridors, very prone to potential break-ins and thefts. Solutions?

Agreed with Armani. Point 1 & 2 are ok, pt 3 may induce him to take actions. Maybe the lifts shd design in such a way that the doors are reflective, i.e. the ppl standing in front can see what the guys behind are doing. Safer? How abt installing CCTV in lifts, beneficial for both the elders and ladies.

I came back at ard that time too. Did not see the person you described. I took the bigger lift and the lobby was quiet then. I think its time to look around, esp ladies when coming home late. Wise not to take lift alone with someone looking suspicious, esp the higher floors, many things can happen thru the lift ride. Let the guy go up first and wait for the next lift. Wont waste a lot of time. Will inform my wife too. Thanks.

Yes please. let's us do something for the community. Lifts are essential for us, we use it at least twice a day unless you go down & up via the stairs, which is another horrible experience. Shd also feedback to TC how the worker actually clean the floors cum stairs (if they do wash the stairs). Take photos and show them. Fused lights are not replaced. See already also sian. They shd have at least a weekly check cum maintenance thingy. Hope they can buck very soon!

Has anyone try using our staircase? Yesterday wanted to go for a jog but was raining. Hence, ended up climbing the stairs. To my shock, the stairs at some levels were stinky and on one particular floor (low), there were stains of ****. My goodness. Just wondering if the monthly washing includes washing the stairs. Anyone knows? And some of the stair lights at certain floors (e.g. 21-22th floor) were not working. Worst of all, urine and urine smell were present on 39-40th floor. I am referring to the staircase nearer to the lift lobby, next to unit 300 / 302. Those who are staying 02-21 floor using the 3 lifts on the left, do you have a problem with the lifts' closing system? Its some time retarded and worst, not working. The handicapped lift was not working for the whole of yesterday. How often they do servicing & maintenance? Comments?

Wah .... then you must have spent a lot on water ... must have multiple uses for the dirtied water ... e.g. wash corridor ... if not waste a lot of water if you tub every night. Hehehe Yes, it's good to organize sports. Badminton? Jogging? Both my wife and I occasionally jog on Sunday mornings, along the Dawson jogging track, close to Queenstown NTUC/MRT. Can jog all the way to the Tanglin Road area, cool and safe. Afterwhich, can walk to Redhill market for breakfast. On weekday nights, I do jog along the road perimeter of Tanglin Halt or Dawson, better than to run round and round of the school track. Let's organize and do it together.

I think we have no choice but to use them for a while and if they turn worse, replace with better quality ones at our own costs. Anyway, take it as wear & tear. HDB's quality is below average. Maybe next time we shd feedback to Minister when they walk ard .... next GE? hehehe ... sigh again.
