  1. USD500 OR SGD500? Is the charger a modded (from the 110V version) one or its direct from iRobot for our 240V supplies? Do you sell just the charger alone?
  2. If they bought the wrong item, you have the right to reject it. Call up your credit card company and stop the payment. We should exercise our consumer rights!
  3. So does this mean that it will only cost you S$489 for the iRobot?
  4. Previously, I modded my charger for my Roomba for pets, and less than 9 months later, the charger went dead. I think the chip was overheated and it went burst. So I'm now using a universal adaptor that I got from SLT. So far no problems. Costed me 40+ bucks... near to 50. I don't have a scooba, so I don't know how it looks like. But you can always try to go to SLT and take a look. Probably you can try to snip off the original plug from the universal adaptor and connect it to the correct one. Take care though of the connections and when dealing with live electricity.
  5. FYI, modding is not the only way of getting the iRobot to work in sg. You may wanna refer to the below URL for more information: http://abecemod.blogspot.com/
  6. Hi, just wondering... those of you who have gotten the 220/240V version charger for the 560 roomba, would anyone be kind enough to snap a picture of the circuit components of the charger? I think a lot of people around the world would be grateful to you. I know it's kinda fat hope, but just asking. hahaha...
  7. If I am not wrong, iRobot carries the older models, GKRobots carries the old models, iRobot USA carries the newest models. Hope that helps...
  8. You should lend me your Scooba and I lend you my Roomba. The Roomba is great. One round around the living room, and the bin is full of dog fur... then there's another compartment for smaller dust, and it's filled as well. Anyway, I'm waiting for another offer to pop by and also waiting for people to post online their successful mod of the 500 series Roomba before getting another. I had no problems with VPostUSA leh.
  9. Check with you, do I need to sweep the floor before using scooba? Coz I think i saw that it has some vacuuming function before cleaning. Also, what about the cleaning solutions? Only clorox and plain water?
  10. Becareful when getting this new model. The charger is a different one from the previous model and different battery pack as well.
  11. I did my mod on friday. Only removed the varistor and changed the C1 capacitor. It runs well. It'll only take u 1 hour max to do the mod... but it's better than wasting $15 to $20 buying the transformer! C1 only costs $2 at SLT (B1-28).
  12. Take a look at this comment: http://www.roombareview.com/chat/viewtopic.php?p=1357#1357 22Vdc at 1.25A would only give you around 28W. That guy recommends getting 70W UPS.
  13. Huh? What do you mean? You bought from iRobot USA and they sent u a 240V powerpack?
  14. My transformer died too after 1 night of use. I'm contemplating between the two options: 1) mod the iRobot charger ($10 to $15?) 2) get a universal power supply for laptops ($20 to $30?) Apparently, option 2 works. I read elsewhere that they got a 70W one and it's running perfectly. Getting a 34W one does not charge the battery fully.
  15. Just to keep everyone informed... when you ship thru VPost, things that cost more than $400 will be subjected to GST. https://www.vpost.com.sg/vpostusa05/gstCom.html So remember this when going thru VPost!! I gotta pay $30++ extra in tax for my roomba...
  16. Got the Scheduler for pets coz got a dog at home. BTW, the total weight seems to be a bit more than the one stated online. It was supposed to be 10+ lbs, but FexDex stated 13lbs when delivering. So you might want to leave some allowance.
  17. Yea direct from US, via vpost. Are you deciding to get one?
  18. I bought my roomba online liao. It should come in ard 3 weeks...
  19. I'm just wondering... will it take more power to use a Transformer instead of the mod? Logically speaking, it should, right?
  20. I'm interested in a MO too. PM me if there's any one coming. Thanks!
  21. According to my understanding, the industry practice is to use PVC. Only few of them would use polygen as their standard finishing, but usually you'll have to request from the ID if you are looking at this material.
  22. Actually, I've been using PVC, and it doesn't pop either, though it gets moldy in my wardobes.
  23. How long have you been using this? Heard from different IDs that after some time it'll bubble. And this is especially the case for moist places, like in kitchens. Also heard that it gets moldy after some time. What's your experience like? I mean besides the aesthetic part of the material.
