  1. The dust has settled and we have stayed in for 2 week and these 2 weeks are nothing short of cleaning and packing and hosting. Though the small space, we've tried (and are able) to host about 12 guests at a time at home. Posting pictures of the completed home to seal the T-blog. It has been a tedious but definitely fun process.
  2. Hi akademon, yes it comes with storage and headboard. The ID charged us about $2k for it.
  3. We have been so busy cleaning up and packing out stuff. The house has not been handed over but it should not be too long till then. Just minor touch ups. Meanwhile, our living room looks like this now.
  4. Hi Takaishi, Enjoyed reading your t-blog and nice reno! We have a similar idea of leaving the mirror on the floor like yours. Can I check if you applied anything on the top to secure it? or just leave it standing? Thanks!
  5. Hi Leslie, I have sent you a PM on the contacts. It's most embarrassing but I am not sure about the colour code of the grey used. We rely on my ID for most stuff, we don't really go into details.
  6. Hello all, Will you guys know how many times is reasonable for the carpenters to return? We are asking them to come for the 3rd time as there are rectifications to be done.
  7. A little something we added at the 11th hour, confirmed with the ID last week and it's up on Wednesday. Very pleased, money well spent. Wishing all an awesome 2015!
  8. Thank you for your feedback benetay. We will keep a lookout at the degeneration if any. Meanwhile we are happy to keep it as it is. Cheers and Happy new year!
  9. Hi benetay, Nope, it's resting on the "waffles" case. There is electrical point inside the case, just need to get your electrician to connect the T5s.
  10. Hi benetay, Yes, we added T5 lights inside the case to brighten the toilet. Yup, vanity is done by carpenters. Yup, the workmanship is pretty good. Just in the wrong laminate. They will be fixed.
  11. Busy busy week for us as the carpentry comes in. And we have been really busy shopping at Ikea and coordinating all the furniture deliveries. Carpentry are mostly up but there are some boo-boos as no renovation journey is complete with no hiccups. Toilets' laminates are supposed to be the same but they somehow turned up different. The bed is not aligned with the lighting point and the bedside drawer is too low. All these will be fixed and air-con installation is today. Mistakes aside, the workmanship is good from what we see. We will be starting our packing soon! Happy new year all!
  12. Painting has all been completed and lights installation is going on this Wednesday. ID says kitchen carpentry would be in latest next week. I realised I am pretty bad at taking photos because I don't know which part of the home to take. Here's a photo of my completed TV wall and hallway. We would like to specially mention the air-con contractor. Their finishing is really good and hubs is all praises for their workmanship. The air-con pipe can barely be seen after painting.
  13. We ended up with choices of Comfort design and Castlery and bed frame from ID. We are looking at getting a study table from TB.
  14. Nice choices of furniture, we really like stuff from Mountain Teak and Ethnicraft. But really not too affordable.
  15. Works are not in lightning speed, but at least stuff are done. And we are happy with what we have (seen). Feature wall, taken at night with flashlight. Closeup of the colour combi with the floor, I think they make a good match! Bedroom door and frosted glass toilet door in the background. Details of the room doors. Home colour will largely be this grey, with darker tones at some areas. Seem like as we progress, we have unconsciously leaned towards the industrial colour tones. Carpentry are being fabricated now and once they come for installation, we should be almost done. Does anybody has any ways to rid dust real quickly? Mr sensitive-nose-hubs feels unwell whenever we go up.
  16. Managed to meet-up with a blind salesperson last night and confirmed on the quote on the spot. Got to know Michael from Neuve curtains through recommendation from a family member. Chose white wooden blinds with black ladder tape for both rooms and living. Initially only wanted roller blinds for both rooms to save some money but realised the difference is really insignificant. Scrapped our previous clock before it reached us from China because we fell in love at first sign with this... The clock cannot get any simpler and the hubs even commented it's like a chopping board (very very solid). But it somehow attracted us and we stood in the shop staring at it for a good 3 minutes. We got it from the newly opened Crate & Barrel at Orchard Gateway for $69.95.
  17. Went to Mega over the weekend to buy some of our appliances, namely the washer, dryer and refrigerator. We didn't buy a TV because we are inheriting my mum's 46" Samsung. Both of us hardly watch the TV and this is really not a priority. My mum has been wanting to get a curve TV thus she is taking this as an excuse to give away her 1 year old TV. We gladly accepted together it together with a soundbar. I would say Mega's pricing does not differ much from other major electrical stores, but their service was really satisfactory. Below are the stuff we bought. 430L Samsung refrigerator RT43H5007SL, $900. 8 KG Samsung washer WW70H5200, $900. 7KG Electrolux Dryer EDV705, $580, the reason why we didn't buy a 2-in-1, the hubs say if spoil 2 things spoil together. This is the TV my mum bought, we thought it's really a good deal. Samsung 55" Curve TV UA55HU7200KXXS and comes with a free curve soundbar HWH7501 worth $999 and $200 Robinson's voucher. She paid $3099 for it.
  18. Hi sharonk3001, have not tried because not installed. Will review once they are running. But i think pressure may depend on the estate also not just the fitting.
  19. tellmiwhy00, sure will upload images once I have received my furniture!
  20. Hi tellmiwhy00, we actually made an appointment with Andy from my friend's recommendation to view the sofa and choose the fabric colour. Our sofa is not here yet as renovations are still underway. Lead time is 9 weeks, we had our eyes set on the sofa when we first saw it online and we were not wavered when we visited the showroom. Chose the colour and paid a 50% deposit. I would say the service is good at the showroom, but the showroom is quite packed on the Saturday we went. I encourage you to go and take a look because the colours are really a little different from the website, it's a very nice cozy little place.
  21. Hi matchakatte, I've seen the one with a piece of wood before but not so keen on it because afraid of splints in long run. Hee hee, don't wanna risk my bum bum. We have not opened the chairs because it came nice wrapped, we just chucked it into the bomb shelter. It looks like what we see outside thou. We are staying on the 27th. The first time I went to look at the 3rm flat I got a shock at the size, after a few visits I am accustomed to it. Easy to maintain. Hee hee.
