Any shops recommend for me to see what bi-fold doors available in the market? went online to check - there are mainly those who showcase completed ones, else the images are too small or blur. I hope to be able to see the selection of colors for frame and the acrylic plastic covers too.

On budget so gotta paint myself. 3 room resale about 68sqm. Just bought so doing some minor reno that includes: - re-wiring the whole unit - 2 toilets to overlay - changing out all the existing lightings & fans & whatever hangs on the wall and ceiling - shifting DB box - remove old cornices and just replace with a simple L-box around living room area And because of all the above fixes - i just realized that when they removed all the old wiring cable boxes, lightings, cornices, the wall is kinda 'ugly' with the old paint residue, screws from the lightings.. as a whole, the wall needs some patching to be done. I did not factor in these in the quote for reno to get the guys fix these ugly spots. So now, i still want to paint but need these spots to be patched up. 1. Patch work - can this DIY? - how? what to buy? 2. Painting L-box - i heard i need to apply sealant then paint over. - what sealant to buy? any specific type or brand? (oil-based, water-based) 3. Painting walls + ceiling - do i need sealant for these walls & ceiling too? - what's the process like: -- sealant required? how many coat? how many cans for 3-room? -- Base-coat then paint color? 4. Toilet walls & pipes - do i need to buy special paints for toilet (because it's high-moiture area) to paint the ceiling? - do i need to apply sealant first then base coat? - oil or water based ealant? - the pipes i want to paint over - so need sealant? base-coat then paint? - Pipes: after colored paint, do i need to apply additional at top coat to protect it from peeling? even if i am engaging some workers to help me, i would also need to buy the right stuff for them to paint. Any kind souls out there who has DIY painting whole place before, really appreciate your advice. thanks!

i was looking around for chalkboards too... then i found the paints in those DIY shops. Small corner where you can find wood varnish cans and stuff. It's a very small tin of chalk board paints. DIY shops like those in the shopping malls. Might be pricey but it's convenient to grab and go, especially if you are looking at just painting a portion. Primer wise - best to ask the shop people. they sell it, they should be able to recommend. Ask questions on the various type of primer and the benefits - then go shop in those paint stores for cheaper alternatives...becuase those uncles in the paint shop are kinda lazy to explain. lol~

wow! 7k is really expensive! well, anything in thousands scares me now actually.. I got a contractor involved - no ID - so strictly what i want. I did only a portion of the wall - about 1500mm by 2500mm (HT). that is already 3 cartons (plus excess). It's hard to just give you a price because this contractor did other stuff for me like overlay for my 2 toilets & fabricate another cabinet in the kitchen. If I look at the line item - include labour + supply 3 carton is about $900. You have to understand one thing is that i am doing the half bricks directly onto the wall. I did no fabrication of feature wall as the base, so likely i am ready to accept wires from TV hanging out. it's fine with me. this is the budget i can live with. So if your ID is going to fabricate a plain feature wall then apply the bricks, so that you can hide your wires behind, of course that will cost more. You can do the sum (roughly) - mine is 1500mm wide (height of 2500mm should be quite constant as it's full-height of old HDB flat generally). if you are looking at 7100mm, that's 5X of mine. Seen this a couple times at some cafes amd restaurants. Some use it for menu display on the wall. A huge black colored piece of boark, looked like either glass or a very thick piece of acrylic. Can write on them with those neon marker pens. There is one that even had magnetic properties too where markers fixed with a small piece of magnetic can be held together on the board. Anyone have seen this or can recommend where I can go/call to check for prices? Though I found it in Amazon.com, the cost is not cheap, and based on the weight, I might have to pay quite a bit for shipping fees... Gmarket doesn't sells it. It does those non magnetic onrs and mostly whiteboards or whiteboard sheets.

These looked like sheets of brick-like panels. Can paint it and do anything to customize yourself. Anyone seen this around in singapore?
