  1. Still a long way to go bro.... envy yours, soon soon to you too.
  2. Toilet tiles halfway up Nearer view Close up view
  3. Hi claypot, ya agree with you that mentally we have to prepare some last minute changes here and there due to no stock etc. For my case, its very simple - just do what i request and if my contractor thinks not feasible i'm open to suggestion, end of the day anything that comes out awkward or awful, of course we bear the responsibilities and since they are more experience, i think contractor should voice out. So far my contractor has been quite accommodating, i told her before i pen down on the quotation "you do nicely, some things i can close one eye there's no 100% perfect reno, you screw things up, i will screw you up big time but i will still buy you dinner after that". No hard feeling, we are all grown ups!
  4. 3D pics of my kitchen just received, rest of the house 3D pics is taking tooooo long, sigh....
  5. Undermount and top mount has got different structure/mold, so i guess the one i saw only able to fit top mount as claim by the shop auntie. Need to go dig more shops that sells undermount... tired.
  6. Same work lah, i got scare off instantly and tell him ok i consider. Crazy ID...
  7. Thanks Lyamani for the info, yes Blanco is one of the brand for granite sink. I went to hoekee before and some item there for price still consider reasonable but for the granite sink blanco is abit high. I was quoted $500+ with a free "normal" sink faucet. Cheapest i manage to find for granite double sink is $380 but is top mount. **** tired when you are working on a tight budget. Anyway thanks for your info, gd luck to your reno!
  8. This one confirm good buy! I eyeing exact size and model as well, so far best price i could find is at harvey norman $2399 with $450 cash back but no free gift. Cashback need to fill up form to collect. Gain City expo ended? How come i duno??
  9. Ahhh.... Gd idea here. I came across one that quoted me $70k++, siao is it?? Alot ppl recommend in forum, but i skipped.
  10. Anyone has lobang for granite undermount kitchen sink? Been looking around and price is really steep, sigh..... Anyway, went up to see my hse reno progress and toilet tiles up! Suddenly i ask my contractor when she boxing up my toilet pipe and she answered "u wan box up meh"? Wah piang, thats the problem when everything is not in black n white which i told her earlier on. Then she say ok she will do it for me no xtra cost BUT normal water proved partition with no tiles. No tiles?? Will it look awful? Only thing i could thought of is to paint it close to my wall colour. She say if put tiles dangerous, will drop off. Blah blah blah... Ok dont waste my time, move on next, when changing my rubbish chute cover? "You wan to change meh? At this moment, i almost wan to **** her upside down! My mind telling me calm down, see quotation now and she say oh ya have have.... She maybe be blur at times but she is not the calculative type like she will not charge for small additional items like adding kerb to my main entrance, adding soft closing mechanism on all doors and wifey requested to extend my kitchen cabinet by half a foot long at no xtra charges. All this items are added after i pen down on my quotation. Well.. Sometimes bo pian have to give and take here and there, sibeh tired.
  11. Ya you need to compare the quotation carefully and ask for breakdown to individual item.
  12. We are all waiting for your house pics here....
  13. Ya man mine now only in wet work stage, 1-2mths shld complete.
  14. Nice gate design! But i think i will go for white, personal preference.
  15. April is coming soon! Congrats to both Mr and Mrs Lee on your new home! Smooth smooth reno journey everyone!
  16. If budgets permits, then go for it. If no budget like me, then stick to older models (cheaper)
  17. While we were discussing TV fast technology, Samsung may have already launch their new "bendable" TV, zzzzzzzz how to catch up?
  18. I went there before, they told me is water resistant and i ask "water resistant" or "water proof"? Salesperson say water proof also and they did the test like you mentioned but its only a short timed test so cant prove anything. Anyhow, the material itself is kind of like rubber plastic so naturally it's water resistant and termite proof. Upon asking further if my pet pee and im not around then he say there's a possibilities it will seep through, that's why i went for other brands since the function is the same but cheaper. Nevertheless, vinyl flooring regardless of brand is still a relatively good choice for its woody "Looks". PS: Not trying to pour cold water, no offence. Wishing you a smooth smooth reno journey!
  19. Koori also bought resale flat?
  20. Saw a few in TB between $10-$12 exludes shipping, plus shipping should be around $15++. $18 is provided you are buying 30-40 pieces, cant remember shop name its at New World Centre, Jalan Berseh Road. Shop is facing Berseh Food centre,
  21. Lol koori, thats a good idea! I give u another idea, can choose colour also hahaha....
  22. Why not?? But if your kitchen is heavy usage type then not so recommended, cos not easy to clean i think. For me and wifey, we rarely cook so not much issue, after plastering smooth, it will be like the walls in your living room (normal walls). My contractor say its the trend now (dunno true or not) but ultimately ------> save $$$
  23. Hi koori, usually for clothes that are thinner in material or more expensive, i would use a kind of bag that looks like a net to protect it, dump into net and zip it up (I dont know the actual term). Good to protect against colour run as well, so im not so worried. My 2 cents.
  24. Actually for resale flat like us usually need to spend more than BTO owners as previous owner may not be maintaining their house good enough and even if they have done so, condition still incomparable to new flats. Hence, i really learn alot from my contractor on how to cut cost on renovation like overlaying tiles or plastering smooth over existing wall tiles which could easily save you a few thousands especially in the kitchen and both toilet area which you will find most tiles. As for flooring, comparison between homogeneous and vinyl flooring price are actually quite close unless you are going for "branded" vinyl floor. For my case, i'm on tight budget and before meeting my contractor, i went to a few vinyl floor showroom and fell in love with vinyl flooring as it's not as cold compared to homogeneous and most importantly child safe (not slippery when wet) but price is . Untill my contractor say she is able to get prices similar to homogeneous if i dont mind the brand, do you think i would mind? Other things that you can save on is wardrobe. If you are going for walk-in wardrobe, you may want to consider pole system type as lesser carpentry work is required for it, do remember that carpentry is one of the pricey stuff during reno. hope the above helps.
  25. Congrats on your key collection this friday! Key collection is one of the most exciting part i believe for most of us here to start with, the feeling....... Shiok! But i can see that you are actively searching for home products unlike me, everything last minute. Even when my reno already started, only thing i got so far is my fridge and washing machine. Fortunately my contractor includes the system 4 air-con for me if not i will have one more headache.
