I think basically I started out emailing to those that I wish to reach out too base on the positive feedback and response around here, the first thing that I look out for is whether they reply back and make an effort to touch base with me. I will not chase for those that didn’t Along the way I also realize that even some make an effort to response to you, pay you a visit at your place, and go through a fair bit of discussion, they could just suddenly disappear without a follow up, be it a further discussion or a quotation at the end of the day. That is already a early sign that they could not commit to you for whatever reason. I used most of my experience from my job in pre selecting the ID as I usually need to work with vendors from various companies. I felt been responsive during the initial contact is very important, I am not expecting an immediate reply to every question I have but to be consistent in following up is important. If you can’t even establish a proper communication channel now, I can’t imagine how it going to be like when the renovation start

Part of my house design is to have a roll of Thai wind chimes on a wall opening, my new house is windy and has a lot of natural breeze. I have a section of a room make out as a altar and collection appreciation room with a low tea table. so the wall opening actually serve like a passage between my modern living room and this traditional altar room My fengshui teacher point out to me that any design with wind chimes is out because the sound of it is very identical to those priest call for the soul during the wake, and it will invite negative presence in the long run. Hi All Please take note that Alvin Lee is not Alvin Aw and both the company sound so identical. it doesnt help especially when you do a search on Matrix concept, the other company Matrix interior actually came up during the search. worse both the ID are named Alvin. I read somewhere here that was a nasty review about Matrix Interior but I just couldnt find it anymore

I am also currently placing my first step in sourcing for ID and contractor, my target period of renovation is suppose to be in late March 2014 so I am getting a early start on this. So far I have contacted a few ID who had positive review here Designer house- Got back to me with a estimated quote, responsive with email Ideal House- Got a SMS text from Daniel, suppose to be expecting his quote within a week time HoongFattHeng contractor- email and follow up with SMS since 27 Dec, heard nothing yet Matrix Concept- just email Home Concept- just email So far I am generally comfortable with what I see from Designer house but I have not meet up with them yet. The only concern I have is with the term and condition that are very subjective I am actually thinking of going direct for teak flooring looking at the estimated quote provided so far. From the labour and material costing i realise I could save about 1K plus on it.
