  1. just across the road, there's 2 more lighting shops. Go there to compare prices.
  2. Over the past few days, found more things need to buy: - bedsheet, pillow case, comforter, etc - insect screen for MBR, toilet windows (and maybe kitchen windows) since mine is mid-floor and near a park. Not sure want to DIY - humidifier with essential oils for aromatherapy and also since aircon is drying my throat and nose. - 4-step ladder (to reach the high places) I've bought instant water heater (to be installed on Tuesday, once installed will take a photo). My parents gave me their Dyson vaccum cleaner so can don't buy for the moment. They also gave me their Zebra Kettle (from Thailand) and I just bought Tiger 2.2L hot-water flask at 50% off the usual price as NTUC (a 3-day promo) as compared to exactly the same one at Tangs. Bought cleaning accessories and cleaning liquids. Took advantage of the 3M Singapore Facebook promo and gotten a mystery free gift (N95 masks ). Even went to Changi Airport to buy 3M stuffs (Scotch-brite cleaning and Command hooks) to save 7% GST (since got direct bus to/from Tampines and its near). Looks like my location is . I even got direct bus (not the free shuttle) to the nearby Tampines IKEA/Courts. Now is clean first, receive furniture deliveries, then clean again ...then start moving... then clean again....
  3. Nice. I also got the Dalen LED ceiling light with remote control. but i find that its lowest-light dim is still bright.
  4. Troublemaker, Mattress and storage bed frame comes as a package so not sure of its cost as individual item It's Nippon Seabreeze 1126.
  5. comes with it. no top-up required. i didn't even know got such thing until i noticed it after they installed. Btw, the other side of the bind (facing the window) is greyish/silver for UV reflection.
  6. Once the storage bed is installed, i slept with an American Lady. Opps... I mean Lady Americana mattress. Mattress is chiropractor-approved. not endorsed hor.. Comes with 2 free pillows and 1 mattress-protector. I almost immediately fell asleep and took a short nap once the delivery man left and i laid on it. Good mattress or i'm just simply tired ?
  7. This bed frame was selected because it is curved and provide allowance for the aircon trunking at the bottom. So there's no gap between the top of the bed head-board and the wall. The wall LED lamp with adjustable stem at the middle of the bed:
  8. Storage bed (Queen sized) was delivered and installed this afternoon: German gas spring:
  9. The bottom of the roller bind has a clear tube so that when the bind's base would to hit any objects, the sound will be minimal and doesn't scratch any surfaces.
  10. Final payment made yesterday. Now it's time to clean the place up before the furniture comes
  11. Don't think Ikea at Tampines have stock for that. May have to go to Alexandra
  12. Not dishonest. If dishonest, i die liao cause i bought from them at Expo... first one is curtain seller, the other is the laundry system.
  13. ahhboi is correct. TY Curtains will always be there. So will be TAME
  14. Did another round of defect inspection. Turned ON all the lights and took photos too, before the furniture and electrical appliances are delivered: shoe cabinet: Living Room:
  15. I've exceeded my budget by slightly over 10%. There are certain items that are not exactly compulsory: Getting a better dinning table due to the quartz topWater feature to create a relaxing smoothing environmentArtificial grass to create a relaxing smoothing environmentGetting a better water filter for better healthGetting a queen-size bed instead of a single bed as an investment for future wedding (but no gf yet )And there are some items that i did not anticipate or plan in the initial budget: roller binds/curtainsoffice chairmirrorsbedroom doors replacementkitchen window replacementplastering of entire housedemolish and remove build-in wardrobebox-upwater heater (yet to be purchased)cupboard for storage (yet to be purchased)vaccum cleaner (yet to be purchased)cleaning accessories (yet to be purchased)3m Command hooks for hanging pictures, etc (yet to be purchased)deco stuff (yet to be purchased)Things i compromised in order to keep to the budget: typical top-freezer fridge instead of a french-door bottom-freezermechanical door/gate locks instead of digital door/gate locksgas hob instead of induction hoboff-the-shelf tv console & wall-mounted cabinet instead of TV feature wall (no heart-pain as its substantial cost-saving)off-the-self study table instead of customized study table (no heart-pain as its substantial cost-saving)I'm sharing all these to provide some sort-of guidance for people who wants to do budgeting for their reno. There are some cost-saving methods which i did not take: taobao (i've poor reading chinese ability, have to scrutinize the hidden cost, and possible delays/handing breakage, etc)did not visit all the shops in singapore to compare prices (have to single-handedly do so much, its tiring to save just a single penny but i've at least make some attempts on most cases. its a "you win some, you lose some" )I will post later all the bad experiences encountered. It will be factual and not condemning any particular person/shop (i hope ) as it may be that i happened to be at the wrong place and at the wrong time so not everyone may encounter what i've.
