  1. Call SP. I'm able to do the transfer before the 2nd HDB appointment.
  2. I went today to Ikea Tampines at 11:30am. Not crowded so the queue is short and enough staff to attend to me. For big items, i didn't have to pick-up but for "small items" the 40x160cm mirrors, i have to pick up which can be a bit troublesome since its long but its close to the cashier and the delivery/installation booth so not so bad. Went to Tampines because Alexandra is too far for me, and got free shuttle. Anyway, good that you gotten your stuff.
  3. Also bought 2 mirrors from IKEA One for the MBR to be mounted vertically near the toilet door (*white) and another (*white-stained oak shown in the photo below) to be mounted horizontally in the dining area wall STAVE Mirror Actually wanted the bigger size 70 x 160 cm but they don't have stock and no new stock will be coming!
  4. Went to Ikea Tampines today to purchase the following: HEMNES TV bench, grey-brown fits my requirement of 55cm in height & length of 1.8m And a matching GALANT Wall cabinet with sliding doors, grey (I saved $150 due to the current ikea sale for this item) Helped me save a lot of money as compared to having a feature wall and customized tv console. Both are higher range of ikea furniture so not as flimsy and more durable than the lower range.
  5. Yes, you should quickly sign up for the SP services ASAP. They need lead time to take the last meter reading so that they can bill your usage accordingly and not based on the previous owner's usage.
  6. Better ask the owner to do that. Your ID may charge you for additional item to dismantle and dispose.
  7. Apron sink means the front part of the sink protrude out, so no tiles required for the front part. I also consider that but it's not easily available in Singapore. Not much difference I suppose it's just design preference
  8. The Aircon guy said that the beam is too small to fit the fancoil and trunking (also need some space to open up the fancoil for cleaning so if too close to the ceiling then may not have space to open). So can't be placed onto the beam. not boxing-up the aircon trunking (save some cash) as i may put a cupboard or wardrobe in the future so can indirectly hide the trunking. if put the fancoil elsewhere, then the trunking will be longer and more obvious. too many door colors and designs to choose from, so the ID helped me to narrow down and finally selected the door design.
  9. Posting these photos and updates from India. Photos from ID. Kitchen Cabinets.
  10. In less than a week since the carpentry discussion, the carpentry is almost installed. Lull period after CNY so carpenter very free can concentrate on my project? Photos from ID on the bedroom wardrobe at MBR: From the MBR door entrance looking in Front view of the wardrobe: Sliding door (opened left): Right-side:
  11. ID watsapp me to inform me that the HDB drainage pipe at the kitchen is leaking so taken initiative to have it repaired (cost of course i have to bear ) But its a good initiative by the ID , since i only have wifi access in the hotel room in India, and not exactly contactable. Have to be repaired as it will leak and damage the kitchen cabinets over time.
  12. Another update from ID: Bedroom doors are installed! Study Room (bag not included ) MBR
  13. Gotten an update from my ID thru watsapp while I'm away in India. The aircon is up: Bedroom 2 aka Study Room Living Room MBR
  14. or you can try Fukai www.fukai.com.sg i just ordered a water feature from them last Sunday at the Expo fair
  15. hmm...i thought its a sticker that can be peeled off? hmm...once i'm back from India, i shall go take a look. btw, thanks for the scratch test on the iquartz. good to know that its the 2nd less obvious. Actually, the iZen is chosen by my ID ( i didn't have any preference so trust the ID's choice).
  16. Thanks for posting your post-modem. so that other forumers can know the durability of electrical appliances and furnishing
  17. correct me if i'm wrong: you can still use system 4 but before the electrical upgrade to 40A, it may mean higher risk of power tripping if you turn on too many electrical appliances e.g. water heater, tv, aircon, etc all at the same time (concurrently). after the 40A upgrade, you can turn on more electrical appliances concurrently without the risk of power tripping.
  18. Updates on the reno over the past 1 week: - Wall & Ceiling painting has been completed - Laminate flooring for both bedrooms have been laid and installed - Carpentry & Ceiling Fan discussions Yesterday spent about 2 hours discussing about the layout of the customized carpentry for the shoe cabinet, top-hung study cabinet, kitchen cabinets (top & bottom), and the wardrobe. Most of the time was spent on the kitchen cabinets due to the position of the hob and hood. Hinges are Blum but the rest are non-Blum soft-closing rails. I also had to choose the internal laminate as mine is not the typical internal-white. The carpenter and ID also gave recommendations on which internal laminate are more durable as some can be rather thin. Gotten 1 Fanco UFO (yellow) from someone selling ceiling fans here in RT. As i only set the appointment with him only 1 day in advance, and he has other appointments, I didn't want to take too much of his time, so discussion was pretty fast. The Fanco UFO will be at the Living Room. As for the Study Room, he advised that since i may have cupboards that have casement doors instead of sliding doors, the ceiling fan may be smaller than i originally planned (less than 48"). So i dropped the idea of having a ceiling fan in the study room, and instead rushed down to Geylang area near Paya Lebar MRT to purchase LED circular ceiling light which is tunable and dimmable and also remote controlled for the study room. Also bought 2 kitchen lights and a 1.4m LED strip with driver to be placed below the top-hung study cabinet (provide light to my study table, which I have yet to decide which to purchase). Things are starting to be fast and furious now that CNY is over. The carpenters can fabricate and install all the customized furniture within a week or so. I also find that prices have also dropped after CNY (post CNY sale?). Went to one of the furniture shops at Parkmall, and was surprised that they are offering 50% off selected furniture and one of them is a TV console that i was eyeing. But in the end i didn't purchase as it was slightly longer than my requirements. Anyway, I'm researching on TV console that has a height of between 55-65cm. The reason is because after seating on a recliner sofa, if the TV is placed on top a TV console, it must be of certain height so that your feet does not block your view (when reclining) and also even if you don't recline, if the TV is placed too low because of the low-height TV console, you tend to be looking down. There aren't many TV consoles that fits my requirement, as mostly are between 40 to 50cm in height. But i managed to find one: IKEA HEMNES TV bench. It's IKEA higher range model. Hope to have spare time to post photos of the painted walls/ceiling and also the floor laminate at the 2 bedrooms, but I'll be away for work overseas this coming week.
  19. Hi Ning Ning, The L-shape sofa that you purchased at Expo at $1.9K, does both the chairs motor-recline, and also include the cup-holder?
  20. Welcome to RT. Best wishes to your reno.
