Hi all Wanted to put some water feature in my balcony. ANy recommendations on where to find modern looking ones (and quality ok one)? Saw some at takashimaya basement but thinking that place is a bit expensive due to rental (Big ones start from $700, small ones from $150).

i happened to see this for sale in a lighting shop in KL. For about 2.5m X 2.5m ceiling, cost about RM3000 plus. I haven't seen any in SG lighting shops but think they price should be about there. I think I am going to give up on this idea.... plus i am worried it may make my place look like a KTV lounge

$5k???!! then i rather buy nice furniture than spend on that. I haven't really found the solution but I talked to a few IDs, they all say drainage and flooding is going to be a problem, not to mention management approval Plus the high maintenance. We need to find landscaping specialists, will let you know if got any further info.

HI January I was considering real grass at my balcony planter when I stumbled upon your forum post. We asked around a few IDs and they all said real grass is too troublesome. Can I check the following? 1) How is the maintenance like (e.g just use water to wash?) or how often do you clean it? 2) any issues with the drainage so far since its been about a year since you installed it? 3) What is the type and grade of grass you use? oh well too bad then, i love my cat more than my sofa..haha.. she didnt purposely scratch them, its just that sometimes she need to run around the house and jump here and there. So in the process she scratch the sofa..

my place got morning sun so should not be a problem.. I prefer real grass, i like the smell of real grass..haha

Hi Need some ideas on how to best utilise the planter at the balcony 1) decking to cover planters to increase size of usable space for balcony 2) covering planter with soil and grow grass or small plants 3) put potted plants in them (personally think this will look ugly) Any other ideas would be welcomed!

I have had leather sofas before and they always kena scratched by my cat no matter how many times I scold her. She will secretly scratch them at night or when we are not around. She can't help it also because when she needs to climb anything, she will inevitably use her claws. I do not dare to buy fabric sofas because it might attract fur or get dirty easily. I would like to check if anyone has similar experience and what sofas do you use to guard against your feline friends?

Hi I have read contradicting opinions about how to decide the direction that your house/apartment faces, for fengshui reasons I want to know which direction is my house facing. For e.g. the house facing direction will be the one where you stand inside and look out thru the main entrance. Is this true and applicable for apartments too?
