Hi, I'm not considering Panasonic as I was only given the Samsung and Sony to choose from. What happen was I had purchased the Samsung LA40N81BX from Courts during the IT show in June. Due to some personal reasons, I had to change the delivery date to Sep. Then last Sat, Courts said that they had accidentally delivered my TV to another customer. And now they can no longer get any stocks for this particular Samsung TV. So they offer to exchange with Samsung LA40A550 or Sony KLV40S400 (I got to top up another $100 for the Sony). So I need to decide which one to exchange to.

Urgently need advices from LCD gurus. Which of the following is a better choice? 1. Samsung LA40A550 2. Sony KLV40S400

Hi, need some advice to whether should I be getting a hood. The reason why I wanted one is because I have a open kitchen, with the cooker hob facing the kitchen window. I'm afraid that the smell, grease or fume will affect the living room. However, I've been advised by a lot of friends that the hood isn't that effective even though their suction capacity is up to 850m3/hr. At the end of the day, the hood will just be an additional item to clean. So they advised me that since I hardly cook and PVC roller blind will be put at the open worktop area (which will block the living and kitchen), I don't need to get the hood. So should I forgo the hood and opt for more storage space (cabinets) instead?

wenniee, I'm glad to hear that Sugar is doing well. When you can, do post more pics of the sweet fellow. I wish I can keep a real cat when my new house is done up. Though HTB like cats, he don't allow for the fear tat the kitty will scratch the household furnishing. So I'll hv to made do with the cute cute, ever smiling plush cats that I have at the moment.

Hi, We've just bought a 5I flat and looking around for advices and recommendations. The floor area is 119sqm and the style we are looking to achieve is a simple resort/ balinese look. In a nutshell, we mere need to do simple reno, for living room + 3 bedrms (including flooring), kitchen (excluding flooring), toilet (segregation of wet & dry area), balcony and paintwork. How much do I have to estimate for the reno? Would within $30K be achievable? Any reasonably priced and reliable ID/ contractor to recommend? Thanks a million!

We tot of moving to places like Sengkang, Jurong and Bukit Panjang area. But that would requires a lot of travelling. I think my HTB would be dead tired driving here and there (esp when he already needs to travel around during the day for work). It's dangerous for him to drive if he doesn't get enough rest.

Ya, my parents live in AMK, while his is in Bishan. And everyday we'll be going back home for dinner. So prefer to get somewhere nearer to ease the travelling. Both of us work in town area, so it's convenient for us to travel to work. At the same time, we qualify for the 40K grant too.

Hi all, thanks for your valuable advices. I've been searching for a flat in AMK area since Jun 2006. Haven't been able to see any decent ones that is priced reasonably. Just last week, view a 30yr old unit at Blk 426 and it was in a very bad state. And guess what the owner is asking for 50K cash! That's why I'm really tempted to buy the one that I've stated there earlier as the place was just situated next to the AMK hub and it's quite nicely done up. But I just scared that 10yrs down the road, I have problem selling the flat at a better price. vicenzo70, you are really lucky. So envy...

Hi, I've always heard people saying that they don't need to fork out cash when they bought their re-sale (i.e. 2nd hand) condominum. How is that possible? I thought we still need to pay 5% (because bank loan can only cover 95%) out of our own pocket? Isn't that mean we have to pay it in cash? Need some advice from the kind souls and experts. Thanks!
