23-12-2007 Did our lightings shopping at Lights Arcade. Was served by a girl called Jane. Quite patient and helpful and joker. We spent 2 hrs at there choosing lightings and i must say it is a tiring job as everything are hang above your head therefore have to tilt your head up to see those ceilings lights. Saw another couple from blk 27A which was introduced by the sales assistant.(hello if you happen to read this). Total spending =$980 which was spend on 1)10PLCs light which cost $34 each 2)1 masterbedroom light- $140 3)2 bedroom lights- $220 ($110 each) 4)1 Foyer entrance light- $60 5)2 kitchen lights- $90 ($45 each) 6)2 toilets light - $170 ($85 each) 7)1 store room -$35 didn;t know lightings can cost so much. Will post the pics once ready...

Yup,we have the laminate sample book for reference.There are alot of laminates to choose from.Well, it is not easy to pick on your own as they are all too beautiful. Finally have decided the laminates for the kitchen.Still left with the feature wall,wardrobes and toilet suspended cabinets.

anyone brought st louis sofa? HB saw one sofa and like it alot. checked forums and this shop has many bad reviews... .the lady who served us seems pretty good (as in explaining to us the function of the sofa and the choices of many colors available).. any review? nemofc, i brought aircon from allbest at 3558 for mit system 4 inverter. nt sure hw much is none inverter wilbe.

i think the extended warranty depends on how extensive it covers. if its really that good, no harm in getting extended warranty ,especially on those essential stuff (fridge, tv,aircon) ,BUT provided the cost for extended warranty is reasonable as well loh. i agree with applefreak .nowadays the electronics are like handphones... dropping prices v fast. whether to take up extended warranty by paying a price, still lies within the individuals.

Thanks for highlighting.However, Courts offers extended warranty which i do not think the neighbourhood shops dare to offer .Beside, i am very particular about the name of the brand esp Fridge.One of my friend bought a L* fridge during early this year but to find that his fridge broke down after 1 week he purchased it.All the food that they had prepared for chinese new year were spoilt. After weeks of recovering (troubleshooting 3 times on site), they had enough of it that they asked for a brand new fridge. Some of the aunties i asked around regarding fridges gave them alot of problems especially the temperature control part .That is why we are looking at continental brands .Alot of ppl gave thumbs up for fisher and payel. They are the only company that originally comes with 2 years in thermostat warranty while others only offer 1 year (however mit brand offers 2 years due to promotion i heard for this period).I guess the local support will definitely stock up all the spare parts that are frequently break down.

Hi nemofc, we are not being charged for addition cost due to the tiles for skirting is using the homo tiles in bedrooms. Well, must let you know if you are using parquet , the maintenance will be quite troublesome esp when mopping the corners. Got to make sure is dry otherwise your parquet skirting will "pop" . This is why we decided to use homo "parquet" for easy maintenance.

jash, this tile cost $3/sqf from hup kiong. i hope the tiles after laid will look nice... sure sure... no problem! phoenix, thanks alot ..i find that laminated flooring has this 'fake feel'..n further more, if its not sealed properly, some areas will blotted up / peel off after some times.

h4happy, keep it simple lor. simple also nice mah... one of the contractor ( whom i approached earlier), gave us advise that if we have balcony at the main door, then doing the different tiling will be very nice.. anyway, i find that the skirting wun cost much if the price is from the contract's price range.. unless u are talking abt paraquet skirting which my renovation contractor has told us it will cost slightly more. for our house, is my hubby who wants to use the bedroom tiles for the skirting ard the house..i didnt think of that before de..and furthermore, no cost implication for that arrangement, so i also okay lor. dun wish to spend too much because we still have a wedding in March to think of ... actually, if u r doing different tile finishes at entrance kerb. will it be weird??

We went in the afternoon and saw this promotion. I guess is a gimmick i mean the 10 sets. Hmm..for the 26" tv seem a better deal if u can find a buyer for it .If not , it seems that u are paying for it. i would rather pay abit more for a 32 " lcd .more worth it as the 26" seems too small heehee. It comes with 3 years warranty and free mounting. so, nt so bad la. somemore, courts willingly to hold for me for 3 months..i dunno audio house can or not ah...my hubby did the decision ..so he call the shots in this area, i know nuts abt it.

Well,if you are doing just on the entrance kerbs, it will not make the foyer look smaller. I thought you were discussing about the foyer area .Actually quote a good idea. But if you really wish to beautify furthur, i would suggest that it should applies to the skirting area for the living room as well. More visible heehee

Well, there will be no special tiles for the entrance as we felt that the foyer is too small .If we purposely create a special tiles for it, it will makes the house looks more smaller .We guess we prefer a uniformity tiles color.As for the skirting, we will be using our bedroom tiles for the whole house.

Well, my skirting for the living room is also using the brown parquet type laminates homo.Hope the contrast is good . My living room tiles is abit pinkish.I guess the pic is not clear enough . Will be posting more along the way. My tilers told me that by next fri,they are able to complete the tiles.We do not know they are working today .When we reached our unit, we were shocked to see our door open. After opening the doors, saw my tilers at full force working. we were very surprised as they are supposed to start tomolo. Will be buying hao liao for them next time when we visit them as a form of reward for their commitment..heehee. My air con guys are coming in on 24/12 to do trunking works. Well,quite a Bz week ahead .Hopefully all turns out good.

Well, the items can only be hold withnin 3mths.Therefore ,timing should be okay with me. If u can't make it, i suggest you wait for the comex in march before buying. I will be buying another 32 inch tv for my bedroom heehee...

20-12-2007 Did alot of damage at courts tampines today.Bought a new tv, fridge and Washing machine. The TV we bought is a promotional set (only 10 sets) . Hmm..seems a reasonable deal which includes a $70 ntuc courts voucher + a 30L Electric oven..This model is make in Korea. It flexibility in changing the position of tempered glass shelves makes us decided this is the one that we need. However as according to the salesman, there could be a change of production plant. Usually,they are manufactured in New Zealand but the salesman is saying that they are moving to Thailand due to cheap labour cost.
