Hi all, would appreciate if you can clear my doubts... Is 动土 necessary let's say when I have collected my keys and need to open the door for inspection? Or it will be considered as other procedures? If it's so, what are the procedures that I have to follow? I understand from reading this forum that I have to consult a FSM on the auspicious date for opening the door. What other stuff? Care to share? Thanks!

I came across a Taiwanese TV program talking about stove 火 and basin 水 but I forgot whether they meant by these 2 things cannot face each other or cannot be side by side? Can anyone tell me which is correct?

I think there will more or less trouble cleaning as the plastered wall is not that smooth surface anymore and perhaps u have to clean harder next time but I was thinking you can jolly well change the paint colour every few years to give it a fresh look and cover up the dirts too... Just my 1cent opinion.

thanks all for the replies. maybe i should come up with a list of the basic stuff that i wish to do for my home and send to ID for quotations. does anyone have this kind of sample list? Our home is a EA in Sembawang 137sqm and we purchased it under the bi-monthly WIS scheme and are considered as 1st owner hence it comes with ready tiled floor for living room, rooms, kitchen and toilets. We intend to hack and change all flooring and wall tiles and thinking of hacking off the balcony walls too. If I present this to ID, would they have a brieft idea on what I want?

What are the most basic stuff that people will get for quotations during the intital stage? Is it too early to source around? Thanks to all in advance!

hi belle, how much will the contractor charge for plastering kitchen walls. Since plastered walls will give the surface uneven texture, do you have any problem when you installed your kitchen cabinets? Please advise. I would said plastered walls is rather an interesting and yet cost saving method to get rid of ugly wall tiles.
