  1. Colour wise is kinda dark but you can simply just change the laminate. Main issue here, as mentioned by others, the cabinet must be wall hung and not sit on the floor. Cater for future washing and splashing. Round sink is nice but rectangle types fit well too. The benefit of rectangle sink is that the tap can be mounted on the sink, so any dripping will be into the sink and not around. Also less "blind spot" area to clean. eg behind the sink Also, if you shop around, the "sit on sink" tap is always cheaper than the "tall" tap base on same design. Diff can be as much as $50.
  2. Actually the main reason is the carpentry work. There is a discharge pipe from sink that goes straight down to floor. This hinders the construction of drawers. Then with water pipes, it is always better to leave an open space around for inspection or future replacement. Same goes with the kitchen sink and hob.
  3. Dont worry too much, 25cm is about 10inches, if the shower head is thin, the water can spread across easily. Actually a bigger head covers a larger area, with a better "rain" effect. Yours should do just fine.
  4. Already sent to you. It is OD 8 inches. So far so good. Link as below. Matter of fact, if the OD is bigger, the effect is even better. Bought majority of my taps from them. They have quite a series of products but not listed in TB. Have to chat with them to email to you.http://world.taobao.com/item/13389872470.htm?fromSite=main&spm=a312a.7700846.0.0.85Bjuy&_u=j1n55c8ta25a
  5. I did mine HERF at about $5 plus psf but not from Evorich. I did go directly to Evorich at their HQ. Their so called discount promo price is still not enticing to me. So my ID recommended another and ask me to deal direct. In the end, made a pretty huge savings due to area I have. I even had a wall layed with the HERF. So far the flooring is serving me well too.
  6. Let me paste what I had written on Ahyong81's blog. "Just to chip in, Blum is indeed quality product. Been using for a year plus and working fine. Soft closing with hinge is not exactly that costly, about $2 per set. A normal HDB full door height needs about 4 hinges but only 2 soft close. Blum's costly item are the side partion drawers such as the Tandembox series, the Avento lift systems and the servo drive system. So purchasing the normal drawer runner, hinge with soft closing etc only are still pretty much affordable. I had used Blum, not but from Blum themselves, through another source who offered a good discount." If you are keen, you can ask you carpenter to write down what Blum are needed and get a quote from my source. My ID and carpenter allow me to source my own. Carpenter list down the type and quantity, I do self purchase.

  8. Chillax, the heater is at a corner, most wont notice the copper piping and drill holes after patching and painting. In the long run, you will be glad you made the choice of a gas heater.
  9. Congrats on your new place! I've bought the same piece. Suction is good and very handy. However, just remember to remove it and clean it often.
  10. Just to share a thought on this. First, ask yourself, do you want a home or a house. A house is where you go back to rest, freshened up and leave the next day and the cycle repeats. With the very intentions of moving out after MOP and as an investment, pinning the price to rise and hopefully make a killing from it for a greener pasture. If this is the case, bare minimum to be done and in an acceptable liveable condition. However, if you want a home, then it will be a spare no expense (within budget and affordable range). Build it to your liking, with little touches, make it into a place that you yearn to go back to after a hard day’s work. A place like your own sanctuary, where your mind and body can rest, leaving all the burdens and troubles outside the 4 walls.
  11. Any thoughts to do top cabinet on this side as well for more storage. If you like to cook, the storage will come in handy in the long run. Also then you can do a "tower" unit to house the oven. I prefer the oven at waist level, easy for inspection when baking as well as usage. In the tower, you can also house a mircowave too, will reduce taking up your table kitchen top space for food preparation.
  12. If you are the type who like it cold, you can even consider to go for a 18k BTU especially when you are combining 2 rooms. Yes, bigger BTU consumes more electricity but I think is still lesser than compressor always kicking in to maintain preset temperature.
  13. A few pointers to consider on digital lock. If installing on main door, look for dead bolt type. More sturdy and secure. If install on gate, given your unit is a BTO, consider the space between the gate and main door. Is the main door handle very near to the gate/gate's handle. Many house owners face such issues when only installing the digital lock and not changing the gate. If doing on gate or door only, personal feel is kinda no point as you will still need to cary keys. No need to go for finger print type, unless price is not a concern.
  14. Best is to shop around a little and do some comparison. Also can consider 2 x System 2 if baracket is sufficient. System 4 is unable to sustain 4 units working at the same time. Can split 2 rooms 1 compressor and 1 room + living room 1 compressors. If room facing west sun and/or liek aircon to be cold, 12k for room is also fine. I did 2 blower in living room alone, due to elongated space.
  15. I have a few of those too, funny thing is that only these single switch comes with the LED light and in red color.
  16. Yah, about 95% using Legrand Mallia. The 2 way, 3 way and 3 gang/4 gang are the expensive one. Throw in the double plug sockets, is a pretty significant amount.
  17. Bought 2 Samsung Air Purifier to battle the haze. AX40H5000GMD - 41.6㎡
  18. The switch itself come as per what you see but without the LED. LED green light is sold seperately. ie if you just buy the switch only, you will still get the LED "display" but without the green LED light. See below for reference.
  19. One thing to note if you keep the door but change the gate and the gate to be install with digital lock. Take into consideration the position of main door knob/handle and where your gate digital lock will be. In some cases, there is not enough space in between to mount the digital lock, one solution is to reverse the opening of the gate. ie. Change from opening "left to right" to "right to left" or vice versa.
  20. This for the gate. Yale YDR 323G (For gate) Gate. Front look. Comes with a remote control for this lock.
  21. Hi as discussed, below are the digital locks I've installed. Samsung SHS-P717 Main door. Back of the lock Main door. Front.
  22. Welcome to the journey of a homemaker and time for earth shattering decision making.
