  1. Yes there is a auto cut off function that acts as a safety function.
  2. Citygas Heater is up. Dont quite like the numerous pipings running around but I guess that's how things work and hopefully will be better when carpentry is up Again I have to compliment my ID, all I have to do is call in Citigas to confirm model I need and he did the rest. The piping running are also decided by him which he knows best how & where to run.
  3. Minister of Home Affairs's Order.
  4. Some Colours In The Rooms OK, I admit, I am not the one who choose the colour...... Base coat up only. Another coat later.
  5. Well, more of a personal preference. Daily lifestyle issue. Most of time I find myself using the the cooling more than the freezer to get a cold drink, fruits, snacks etc. Freezer open only when preparing meals or grab a ice cream. So I think cooling at the top is a brilliant idea. Mum has one and passing the 5 years mark with no issues as well. Inverter technology suppose to be more energy saving as well. So price, look, size, tech fit all for me. Some folks swear by side by side. My aunt has one. I see one slot fit in one item, that's it. A bigger cake is a no no. And the hefty price tag is not enticing as well. I dont like fridge with ice/water dispenser. Once spoil deem redundant. Cost of service per trip min $80. Do or dont do also have to pay. Add in labour and parts, maybe $300. Might as well buy a new one especially if the fridge is 4 years or older.
  6. Should have carpentry above the fridge. Look more uniform.
  7. Congrats on being a new house owner. I am sure Mr. Foo will meet your ideas and request.
  8. You are mistaken. The full height cabinet starts from dining area, shoe cabinet will be there, not the balcony area. I need storage area, this is the only way to have storage without compromising the rooms.
  9. Just a planning for the future, unused space can be use to keep other things. One can easily have 10-15 pairs of shoes for different occasions. Plus shoes of Missus, so 50 pairs just a conservative figure.
  10. Am doing a fair bit of carpentry, shoe cabinet is at the left hand side upon entering. A full height stretches all the way to the balcony area. My min requirement is 50 pairs of shoes.
  11. As Uncle Toh mentioned, depends on your family size and life style. And you have a point as well about moisture and dampness. For myself, MBR likely to use sparingly cos Missus needs a vanity place, hence will be kept dry. Mainly for her to make up, dress up in the morning while common for shower, other biz. This way she wont wake me up early in the morning as well. Key reason for us is 2 pax only, housework is a load, so keeping one clear cuts down work for other matters. Uncle Toh has 5 helpers, so cannot fight.
  12. Wasted? Why wasted? Still part of your house. Convert into a dry area for wife to do makeup. Think of one less toilet to wash, one less area to dry and one less toilet bowl to scrub and all is not wasted.
  13. For a couple only, can keep one of the bathroom clear, using it mainly for wife's make up area. Hence a good vanity top is needed with some shelving and cabinets. Use the common one as the all purpose, less toilet to wash and big biz "fragrance" will not linger in MBR. Toilets in new units nowadays are actually very near to each other, so no tough issue of walking to kitchen to use in the middle of the night.
  14. Oh, if that is the case, can consider the Panasonic inverter one. Typical 2 door but with freezer compartment below. Freezer below suit our lifestyle as normally it is the cooling compartment is used more. So opening, no need to bend down to see things below. Price now is below $1200, think about 600liters external volume. Dont fancy side by side, individual compartment are small, not good for thing like a whole chicken, a 1kg cake etc. Also the price is another issue, higher by a few hundreds or even 1K. Size also matters, HDB small kitchen dont suit side by side as well. Side by side reduces table top space, for other appliances and preparation of food.
  15. You are better off buying your own stuff than to patronize those shops. Taobao may be a better venue, many others are getting lightings from TB now. I settle my dining, living and kitchen, 4 lights for RMB830. And these arent that shabby lights either.
  16. Kitchen wall no tiles, screed it and then carpentry. Expose area will be cover by back wash. Save money save time else hack need to make good for carpentry.
  17. After cleaning a little, looks better now.
  18. Feels a tad to small but if seldom cook, can be an option. Anyway, one can always adapt to it.
  19. Did you ensure the "box" behind the touch sensor are included and size matching local requirement. Also the wiring configuration as well. Electrician must be able and willing to install for you.
  20. Wrote a short post of Krono and Evorich in my blog. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/topic/63586-back-to-the-west/page-4 Post150 To me, the main difference is only the price . If average difference is $1 psf then a 4 room can be like +/- $700 and up to $1K for EA. Such difference is enough to get a basic hob and hood already.
  21. Congrats on getting the keys! Solid top dining table are dime a dozen in TB but you must do your homework diligently. BTW, how much was that selling for?
  22. Ok, task completed. Bought a couple of them, free shipping to China address, and round down price.
