  1. Result of tools and labour. Using them as foyer tables, not the best of quality, cant say fixing is a breeze. Matter of fact a little pain in the axx. No instructions manual but only each part are labour. Some parts are blemished or dented, likely due to poor packaging. Anyway, you pay peanuts, you get monkey. Lesson learnt. Not that are unusable but definitely can do better.
  2. Having one **** of a time opening, sorting, fixing up Taobao/Tmall loot. That is when all the tools come in handy.
  3. If you are buying small furniture from Taobao, you may want to invest a little on some small tools The orange Black & Decker been with me for 10 years, sparingly use though.
  4. Sent you the contact person. Trying calling during weekdays to their office in Hillview for a visit. Bring the floor plan along and you can get a budgetary quote. On average if every square feet can save a dollar, it is quite significant.
  5. Tmall is same as TB except Tmall sellers are supposed to be be more trust worthy and quality supposed to be better. My experience with Tmall is pretty good, the items sold and packaging are up to standard.
  6. If you have made full payment, then you have no leverage against him. Else inform him the discontent and sort out a schedule and plan.
  7. I used Krono O, can be found on my blog. Price is cheaper than $5.50 psf.
  8. My ID intro Krono O to me but he asked me to deal directly. You can look for Jason, the sales manager. They have a showroom at the below address. Best approach is to see the real deal but contact Jason beforehand if the particular design you want is available in showroom. Bring along your floor plan and they can give you a budgetary quote base on floor plan but final cost is base on usage. I would say they offer a pretty good price compare to Evorich. 63 Hillview Avenue #03-08 Lam Soon Building Singapore 669569 Tel: +65 6219 9879 Website: www.krono-o.asia
  9. An honest opinion. Please give them a miss. There are many more IDs out there and 95% will not request for any form of deposit prior to confirmation. And to be fair, please do not request for any drawings if you are not ready to sign with them. Any ID/contractor will not have the time nor effort to entertain drawings until you signed and paid a deposit.
  10. The normal cotton type, take a fair bit of effort to dry for mopping (without the spin dry bucket type) else not drying off excess water will get a wet floor. This is bad for laminate floor and glossy tiles. Also the strands tend to get stuck with furniture, pulling and tugging will bald the mop pretty fast. New cotton mop tends to have cotton fibers when new, often leaving fibers behind and require a break in time. Further to that, hair and small particles get entangle easily due to cotton fiber. Removing the hair is definitely a hair rising encounter for me. The sponge type, however offers a different way of mopping. Draining excess water is easy, there is a lever, all you have to do is to pull and let go. Excess water will be squeeze out, this will leave the floor drying quickly. The sponge itself is highly absorbent, good for spills and splashes. Hair and small particle stick onto the sponge easily but if particle are too big, ,may not be able to "stick" up. Cleaning is just like the usual mop, rinse in a pail of water and all "sticked" will be washed off. However, hair will still entangle but it is much more easier to remove compare to cotton mop. Despite that I felt the sponge mop is better, it does comes with some shortcoming. Sponge mop mops in a push and pull or forward backward motion while cotton mop offers more free play. Cotton mops can access narrow areas much better than sponge mop due to size and mopping motion. Also sponge mop will have more resistance when mopping flooring with grains. Anyway I still prefer sponge mop's hassle free usage despite costlier but still cheaper than those cotton and bucket type,
  11. If there is a concern about the quality, try using Tmall instead. I would say the overall quality is pretty good. Buying from TB is a walk in the park. Just choose the lighting you want first then the review later. My ID told me the light I bought, he saw a similar one going at $400 plus local, while I got 4 pcs for only $170. So do the math.
  12. Thanks guys, it looks like a lot but actually are due to packaging and wooden crates. Bought some lighting, some which I shared earlier, a sink, a basin, Grohe mixer, shower, taps, facuets, 2 study table, 3 side tables, books, 1 small cabinet, 1 swivel dressing mirror, and many other small items.
  13. Tencel bedsheet translates as '天丝四件套‘ or '天丝床上用品‘ A lot more sellers selling Tencel bedsheets, can just do a search too instead of the seller I picked. Hmmm....sounds a little.....
  14. Quite a fair bit of home makers purchase their lighting from Taobao and Tmall, Price difference can be in excess of 50%. You may want to consider.
  15. Quite a fair bit of home makers used it. IMO better than laminate, as laminate still has wood content.
  16. I bought these myself. Electrician calculated the amount needed. 1 gang 1 way is about $3 and 3 gang 2 way is approx. $15. For actual pricing please call them and check.
  17. Legrand Mallia Switches Mallia come with small LED indicator, off when switch is on and light up when switch is off. LED sold separately at $2.00 each. There are only 3 colours on stock. Forgot the name but mainly, 2 shades of silver and white. You can mix and match the "cover" and switch but once chosen & paid, non exchangeable. Bought from Choo Chiang Marketing. Google for their location.
  18. Hi there, keen to know the prices for this 2 pcs.
  19. Am using 3m PVA Scotch Brite mop. Kinda costly but cheaper than those bucket and mop type. Approx. SGD20++. Available at NTUC. Cotton mop need a few mops before the loose cotton strands are cleared. Dont fancy them as the traps hairs easily and hate the removing part.
  20. Uncle Toh, did you chance upon one that can support bigger like up to 55"? By the way, what is the cost and installer charges?
  21. It was one day's effort. Sweep, vacuum and mop. Good work out. Plan your schedule. If you have a vacuum, it would be easier to clean up small crumps, in grooves and corners. Also using the sponge mop is easier to clean compare the the cotton mop. Things tend to get stuck onto cotton mop.
  22. At least you have company, I did it all by myself. A good workout though. The end result is wonderful, offers a great deal of satisfaction.
