Haha... my same floor neighbours quite okay people never complain according to my contractor, but the unit directly below my unit kpkb until the HDB officer kept hurrying my contractor to quickly finish demolition work, also complain workers talk loudly, on music etc....lucky not my same floor neighbor, which alreday I met and apologised for the inconvenience in advance by me.

Obviously any competent contractor or ID would not design or allow such a placement for the cooker hob. I mean seriously anyone with common sense would know better than to put the hob next to the cabinet.

Aircon water piping in the toilet, eventually they will be buried and hidden under the tiles. Though it will look nice (cant be seen) , the execution has to be very good, else if leak or any problem has to hack out in order to rectify. So beauty always have to be balanced with practicality. Obviously I choose the former. Also because I am hacking the house from scratch, I am able to hide all wiring, trunking whatever, under the flooring, withing false ceiling, fake wall panelling...my request to contractor, everything must be hidden

For toilet, I am using this tile "wet cement" from this tile shop located opposite Great World City, forgot the name liow. The wall is smooth in texture while the floor one is slight textured. I got my white nano tiles from this shop also.

Tiling in progress

Yeah bathroom really neat and nice look, no more ugly big fat pipes.

You think can? The window is facing direct east, the fireworks from south... maybe a bit if look out of the window

Yup, thanks songz, for the headup. I do prefer larger tiles to reduce the grout lines. I think my contractor is aware of the issue, she is one capable lady, I have used her service for 2 of my previous reno, so far I am satisfy with the work and quality.

I am using the superwhite nano crystalised tiles for all areas except bedrooms. The tiles size is 800X800.

So far electrical works and water pipe routing has been done/in progress and the aircon contractor has also lay all the ducts required. Next week tiling should start. Some pics of progress. The separate toilet and bath are combined into one, the piping all will be covered up

haha I am sure you missed Mei Ling st, I bought not just becoz I like the flat but also the estate, which has a market/hawker centre and also numerous type of shops at ground level of each block, very convenient, very old charming place and slight hilly terrain. Yeah the exterior is quite neat with small lobby with lift serving 4 units. The designs are quite unique and HDB actually built them in 1970, well the lease start in 1970, so Mei Ling st is one of the oldest estate. But the govt did a great job as almost all blks are upgraded so everything is nice and clean. Yes the main door and the metal gate is very retro but will not fit my reno style. I will replace the door and change the glass panelling to frosted type not the original where they have the wires running through the glass. The panelling is good idea to retain as it allows light to filter through so it will brighten the foyer area. There will be no metal gate install. I think Singapore is quite safe, I really dun like grill of any sorts. Well, currently the contractor is running the electrical rewiring, aircon piping, water piping etc, so there is nothing to update for a while.

Went to check today, like a warzone, should be work done last Friday, the 1st day of reno. Top left : passage from bedrooms to kitchen bottom left : the wall sealing the passage from living room to bedrooms broken down, can see the line on the wall where it used to be. right : the living room
-
Songz : Currently the passage to the bedrooms is wall-up and that space is used as a wardrobe. But I will break down the wall to allow passage again. Makanology : The floor area is 72sqm. The toilet/shower will combined as one space. My theme..quite unusual from most here, maybe not everyone like...it will be quite 'chinese style' I have lots of chinese furniture and also bought some old chinese window frame and door frame which will be incorporated into the design. I realised most people like modern look. Anyway see how it goes. Sherting : Yes you are spot on, mei ling st it is. Yeah my dog will be able to run in circle around the house. You sold your house long ago?
