Hi June, Where did you buy the gingerbread men? My 2 year old daughter likes it. I think she will be thrilled to see such a big one.

We spent about 2.5 hours on-site to discuss the electrical plan with Jay (my ID), Mr Yeak (my contractor) and Mr Yeak's electrician. Jay had prepared an A3 floor plan which shows details such as: number and type of proposed light and where to locate their control (ie. switch)lights where 2-way switch are necessarynumber of powerpoints and their locationswhere to locate controls for heaters, roller shutter, etcwhere to locate TV points and data pointsHe taped the A3 floor plan on the wall. Changes were written on it throughout the discussion. We spoke much about how to run the electricity such that trunking is minimised. I think we had a very fruitful discussion.

I like your wet and dry kitchen idea - very clear zoning. Where will you be drying clothes?

Bringing Scandinavia To Tampines! ~5A Reno Blog~

Hi there, I have hired Mr Yeak to be my contractor too. -
My contractor quoted about $120/ft for granite. Given the high cost of good solid surface, perhaps granite is a good alternative? Just my personal opinion.

My IDs have done a more comprehensive update on the reno in their blog: http://butterpaperstudio.blogspot.sg/2013/12/renobt-pj-maisonette-reno-updates.html They commented that my toilet wall tiles are "in a warm and honey tone, similar to a travertine stone look." The look of the toilet was actually inspired by the toilet design in Tien Lai Hot Spring Resort in Taiwan, where hubby and I stayed in 2006 while on vacation. I didn't know that it is a travertine stone look. Upon googling, I found out that travertine is a form of limestone deposited by mineral springs, especially hot springs. Extract from my ID's blog: My IDs also posted some mood images for my toilet, which I really like. My toilet wall tiles are from Hafary and cost less than $3 psf.
