Well, but what we seems nowadays are that "fengshui masters" are starting to dabble into "kai Guang" and placement areas for Buddha statues and worst of all they r dabbling into religious areas acting like a clergy instead of keeping to their own fengshui practises. since fengshui is about harmonizing blah blah blah ... what has fengshui masters got to do with advice on PRAYERS to the EARTH ? and DOOR OPENING PRAYERS ?? etc etc ... I din noe that fengshui is about praying now .... the line btw fengshui n religion is so blur that these "masters" starts crossing over the religious "authority" . Fengshui masters should adhere to the practises n faith of their clients, mayit be Buddhist, Taoists, or Christians ... dun tell me.. fengshui master gonna start blessing the statue of Mother Mary and Jesus on the cross ???? or even fengshui masters starts to bless the Holy Quran ? pardon for the straightforwardness... Homage to Lord Buddha !

WOW ~! It is VESAK DAY .. the BIRTH, ENLIGHTENMENT & NIRVANA day of the Buddha ! its gonna be the most auspicious n blessed day of the year ! wish ya happy ! Buddha bless yr home ....

Vesak is a day to commemorate the Birth, Enlightenment & Nirvana of the Buddha. You can prepare a whole range of offerings from flowers to fruits and vegeterian food as offering to the Buddha all done before noon. It is also Ok if u just wanna make usual offering of just a simple cup of water is also Ok .. why ? becos being a Buddhist is a life-long committment n dedication to living up the faith, to be a "vesak buddhist" is like once a year affair, this kind of "vesak buddhist" would not exprience much blessings in their daily lives but however, being able to even hear the Buddha's name for once or see the Buddha's image a glance, one will gain immense merits, what more about buddhists who constantly make a point to devote to Lord Buddha in their daily lives ?! Blessings will then truly be abundunt! 浴佛 Yu Fo, Bathing of the Buddha is mostly carried out in many buddhist temples. It is a symbolic act of cleansing our inner hearts of defilements, in another words, bathing the buddha within our heart. The fragrance of the water poured upon the Buddha's first born image also means that our hearts to be pure and true in dealing with daily life and with family and at work. You can clean your home's Buddha statue anytime, anyday .. no taboos... becos as Buddhists, we need to keep the place clean where we offer the Buddha as an act of devotion and importance in regarding the Buddha as our teacher n protector of the family. Take Vesak as a chance to give praise, adoration and recollect the wonderful blessings and teachings of Lord Buddha... recite " Homage to Original Teacher Sakyamuni Buddha" 南无本师释迦牟尼佛 。。。

hi jessi, do consider Spacious Planners as well.... Gplan also not bad ... -
Awww..... i think most probally i will be handling my reno to Spacious Planners, ID Kenny ... awaiting for final quotation. Just a note to add on for this ID, Spacious Planners although got very few comments or reviews from this forum while alot of people says that they are expensive.I have to say a few fair words, becos this ID, kenny is from spacious planners, his designs are very nice and new age, modern, sleek watever words tat can best describe it .. he is very understanding guy, willing to work within my budget for my resale flat, and i would say that his designs are very unique and he understands my taste well enuff with just one say and he got excellent memory for every details of my house and watever I said . Why ? He is one of the best ID that i tok to, listen ... he drew me a 2d perspective using pencil and even colouring when I have not signed any contract with him and he explains in very full details and best of all, he did not even ask me for any amount of money to present me with those pencil 2d drawings .. not many IDs would do that, I would say ... of cos i am not asking u guys to go make use of him for free ideas and perspectives but really to appreciate a hardworking ID as i myself have been searching despite of fear that Spacious Planners might be expensive, ESP to renovate n remake a resale flat with only a tiny budget. Let me share with everyone on my journey to reno my old home. Everything started with bryan wong's home decor show and I too wanted to give m 14 yo home a new look but left everything on the shelf due to time constraint. Then the 2nd show by Chew Chor Meng "never too old" a show sponsored by Chew Interiors, again made me wanna remake my home. SO.. i started to go to IKEA and buy DIY stuffs to furnish my home but however i just canot get the feel, so I decided to seek professional help .. meaning to look for an ID or contractor to reno my home (also becos my kitchen is tearing soon, haha) Then i went to Lifestyle21 reno fair .. source for quite a few ID firms, most of it are not up to my standard n feel ... but somehow these few ID firms left me a deep impression: Unimax Creative, Home Success, Square Room | but none of them got back to me with quotation, So i went to IMM to have a walk and found out many ID firms from there, then walked past many firms but none caught my attention was the kitchen of Spacious Planners, then a guy ( ID Kenny) came out and talk to me and from then we kept in contact to now, as mentioned above, he is a hard working guy n presents unique designs within my budget and i am really really impressed by him. I had also talked to Kelvin from Gplan and he was aLso very sincere n helpful I would say but maybe I just did not have the affinity to meet him (hehe .. he got into a accident during the evening he supposed to meet me) ... the bad experince i had was with City Design and hub Builder... (City design, not helpful with suggestions and ID seems to be suggesting lots of stupid ideas and asking me where i wanna place my sofa etc , goddness ! he is ID not me ... ) * (hUB Builder, attractve price they got .. but the design too old and "HDB feeling", was pissed off when I told the ID that I dun wanna my future kitchen to have cupboards on the top and his ans was "All houses Kitchen got tat..." haiZzz.... Well, i am still not sure if SP will reno my house or not but i think highly possible. While i document down my reno process for the total makeover. I also hope to share this good ID from Spacious to others... Oppss... only today i found out tat Edgline n Spacious belongs to one boss!! cos i went to SP's hidden office today ... haha ... anyone wanna comment or ID kenny's contacts .. can msg me ... or any comments about SP also welcomed as I have not signed up yet ... but awfully impressed !! P/S: like most plp here, Spacious Planners gives plp the expensive feeling and i too was afraid that it will go very ex with the same perception tat most plp have but i think it really have to go not only with the company but also which ID ... maybe I am jus blessed to meet this ID . Will update everyone on my process and get everything signed b4 the GSt hike !!!!

open or close is both Ok ... no matter clean or not, we ought to make it as a practise or chore to change the cup of water daily as an effort to devote our faith to the Buddha. Buddhas are enligthened beings who does not require our offerings to live on, however, as Buddhists, we make offerings not only to remind ourselves that we need the Buddha's guidance n blessings but also as an act of devotion. Therefore, it is important to note that Water represents devotion and generosity, while incence rep the fragrance of truth and light rep wisdom. etc etc ... the most impt is the offering that originates from our faithful heart. 诚心供养 诸佛感应 。。。 南无本师释迦牟尼佛 。。。 祝 卫塞节快乐 。。。 `9ãÀ/õà;ã <ã;õ >ãà>ãÀõP3ã°3ã`Æõp6ãà6ãpùõ 9ã³ntntântîntJ÷mtJ÷mtntntbnt*nt¼ntnt

haha .. can only pray that will turn out nice ... i tink its really about the ceiling n lighting works that brings out the whole feel ... as for broken marble ... i feel very low end ... duno why ... maybe will be better when i polish n shine it ? or i should just change the whole floor to hit the modern n high end feeling ? confused ... its either spacious planners or Gplan now ...

If u are a Buddhist, u can chose not to burn paper or pray to the earth becos it is not a Buddhist practise to make offerings to earth deities (its more of chinese folks beliefs). However, to carry out certain rites in the right concept is acceptable within the Buddhist arena, let me suggest u the below: If u are a pure buddhist, then no need to choose any date or day nor pray anything. Just find a day where yr family if free and recite the Buddha's name and use the hammer to hit the ground once as a symbolic truth of Buddha blessing yr new grounds. Althernatvely, u can invite a lay or monk to yr house to recite scriptures to consrecte yr house. Infact, as a buddhist, I would suggest to u to minise the rites untill the very day u move into yr house wherebyu do a housewarming and blessings of the house all at one go which will be more cost saving n less trouble. Of cos as a chinese, to place pineapples n "lucky items" which can liven the moods of yr family is acceptable too ... but not so of a Buddhistic practise .. jus to bring out the mood, i would say ... =) anymore queries ??? enjoy yr new home !
