hi Ken, Its better to consult yr own religious clerics may it be buddhist or taoist regarding such issues rather than opting the commerical fengshui beliefs or hearsays from the internet which may not be true. There are many Buddhist / taoist temples ard ... talk to the temple keepers or the clerics there, they will be most happy to answer yr queries.

Hi, its not about if u r a chinese or not ... its about if u r a Buddhist or Taoist ... If u r a Buddhist, u can ignore all those stuffs ... taoist wise better consult taoist clerics. Chinese Christians dun practise such ... Chinese Buddhists do not practise either ... so using the term CHINESE is very misguiding itself =) go according with yr faith .. get it Right once and forever done ..

yeps ... consider a respectable buddhist temple either lay cleric or monk / nun. We can see many china monks coming here just to earn the chanting dollar ... why ?? becos human are ignorant of the Dhamma itself, thus resulting in such superstitions. Serice with a stipulated amount of money also must be careful, becos such services are not supposed to have a standard commercial charge, it should be an offering within your heart. As for those fengshui issues, if u r a buddhist, please stand clear from such practises as they are unbuddhistic and aganist the basic teachings of Buddhism itself. As mentioned, spraying supposed "holy water" or chanting scriptures will not bless your house unless u have faith, understand and practise according to the guidelines of the Buddha. Rites and ceremonies are just skillful ways to lead one into Buddhism ... As i mentioned in anoter thread, no fengshui is more powerful than Faith. =) Faith not only withstands but it shines ... you do not "engage" a monk .. u invite a venerable monk to dedicate yr house and also make sure u r inviting a real monk or Lay buddhist cleric who explains the ceremony to you and not those commercial monks who comes to chant and take an angpow from u and gone in the wind kind. chanting and spraying supposed "holy water" will not bless your house unless u live yr life with faith and joy in the Buddha =). blessings for yr new home and house warming ...

Hi .. if it is agaisnt the Christian Faith to dabble into fengshui, you should abide yr own religious practises. Mixing fengshui into a religion that does not permit it is not good. I am not sure if a protestant pastor "blesses" a house but i do know that Catholic priests does that ... Just like being a Buddhist myself, we are also equally aganist Buddhists dabbling into fengshui as it defies aganist the Buddha's teachings. Buddhists usually dedicates the house and do not bless and I am sure that Christians or Cathlics dun bless the house verbally, its rather to dedicate. The Buddha said that the highest blessings that one can recieve is the listening of the sublime Dhamma and Happy are those who live a righteous life according to the Buddha's guidelines. That is why many neo-buddhists are often misleaded into Fengshui .. Maybe Taoists may have no objection towards fengshui since taoism also originates from china .. (this is my presumption) I hope that u should seek yr church nd pastor's advice on this issue and not other people out there who tell u that "fengshui is about harmonizing this n that .. it does not matter tha u r a christian .. it's science and metalphysics not religion" . You must adhere to yr own religious faith and uphold it. Not a outside or unbeliever. Blessings upon yr new home. just to add on: No fengshui is more powerful than a person with Strong Faith.

I will talk to my ID this week again ... and update everyone .. there is also another issue that i need to seek for advice, i noticed that the quotation does not includes the toilet bowl, basin, tap, mirror and shower mixer. and also no sink, no hob, no cooker .. morever, i also dun understand how home the tv console is a seperate quote from the feature wall ? just a wooden plank 1300 ?? as well i top up 300 more and get the mondi tempered glass cabinet ... really gonna tug of war with my ID liao ... can i roughly know how much does these toilet accesories normally cost up to ? lightings n electrical works roughly ard how much ??? I am thinking to reuse my crystal lights, advisable ?? gosh .. it's like never ending cash flowing out ... lucky, i got my new sofa and lcd tv liao ... only need to change dinning table ... also if anyone noes where to get cheap lightings and "OM" feel kind of dinning table ...

if u r a Buddhist, there is no need to abide fengshui practises .. if u r a Taoist, then u might need to ... different faiths difft practises ...

You should consult yr own religious clery for the proper way to set up a home n family ... r u a buddhist or taoist ? Buddhist wise .. i can help u .. taoist or others i cannot ... =)

the monk u met was merely a commercial monk for exist for the sake of the funeral chanting $$. Monks (sanksrit: Bikkhus) are true sons of the Lord Buddha who are responsble for the spread of the Dhamma to their congregation. Such "monks" are not good representation of the Buddhist Faith either ... (note that more china monks are also coming to earn the funeral $) Morever, the "monk" was wrong to tell u that yr MIL's "SOUL" will not harm you becos SOUL is not a buddhist concept, and the buddhist view of life is "consciousness" and it does not harm nor poesses a ghostly form. It's true that such rites are commonly peformed by Taoists or folks chinese practicioners, HOWEEVR, you are wrong to say that Buddhism once practised n taught fengshui ... neither in India nor China .... On the offending side, its Fengshui who made use of Buddhism and came up with all sort of funny theories and explanations defying the Buddhist faith and also misguiding lots of young couples out there. The cross over from Fengshui to the Buddhist Arena is totally unacceptable .. for Taoist wise ? I have no comments as I am not a Taoist. That is why i seek the pardon of our dear fengshui masters to spare Buddhism off their menu and also our young couples here to be aware that such crossing of areanas is happening and these "masters" are not true represntations of Buddhism neither is what they say nor promote.
