does solid Nyatoh doors cost that much? ($550) or is it becoz installation cost is involved? I tot Nyatoh door with lock set can get at below $400 direct from supplier? (not sure if they provide free installation anot)

For smaller and cheaper items, it doesnt make sense to pay Amcon $10 for purchase for us.... But Alipay seems alittle complicated to me... Will it be expensive to purchase using singapore credit card and then forward to Amcon warehouse? 3% surcharge of a cheap item like 100RMB is just 3RMB. Not so sure about how unfavorable is the exchange rate compared to using Peeka/Daigou though.... -
i think it will, some carpentor charges $30/pfr for internal color pvc... some charges as high as $70/prf. Not sure if one is PVC and one is laminate... never really drill into this area... u can check with him =) good luck

Ok, so u added new stuff to ur carpentry after reno started eh? no wonder u r in shock...carpentry is usually the 'culprit' of eating up all the budget =X But in any case, the carpentry does looks like its slightly higher than average pricing... not sure if u asked for prenium materials or things like internal laminate etc... If yes, than should be ard there... For the plumbing, i dont remember any work is required for air con other then the pipe the drips off the condensation..but i tot that should be included in the aircon package when u purchase the aircon. i've no experience in asking for quotations for change of pipings... but $1600 sounds really expensive in any angle... Installation of toilet accessories shld not exceed more then $200. Installation of Instant Heater should be less than $80 per unit.

Looking at the price of the carpentry, it think it's slightly on the high side... the plumbing work also look expensive...is ur plumbing work very extensive? Just curious, how come the reno start without a finalised quote? Or did u added in alot of new stuffs after renoi started?

Oh... you mean Amcon doesnt know if my Item A or item B has arrived? Then how will they know that all my items has arrived their warehouse before they arrange to ship to Singapore? I'm banging on them to have accountability on this... thats probably the only reason why i want them to make the purchase for me and paying them the $10 per link... Else, i dont see why i need them to make the purchase for me...

Hi Bro Makanology, Thank you for explaining ...appreciate it.... My intend was to just do the nego and confirming with the seller part... After which, the rest will be handled by Amcon... Not sure if paying with credit card will be cheaper compared with letting Amcon make the purchase for me will be cheaper though (due to poor exchange rate of credit card) My preference of letting Amcon to purchase for me if becoz i want to be assured that the payment went thru, and Amcon confirmed that the item is received at their warehouse after the payment is thru.

Thanx Bro Ocean11, Should be worth it... cos i'm getting a number of large item (big ticket as well). I think the negotiation and the special url the seller provided should be transparent to Amcon right? Since all Amcon does is to buy from the links we provided to them, do you think there is still a need to tell Amcon about it?

Hey Ocean11, you do think it's possible to give Amcon the "custom" link provided by the taobao seller stating the negotiated price/customed specifications? I will like to go thru the nego process and ensuring the right item/color/size myself, but dont wanna go thru the Alipress thingy.... You think can?

I've checked the cost of doing a stucco wall before... It cost about the same.... U might wanna make a comparison.... The effect of craft bricks actually looks better compared to the stucco walls I've seen so far...

Yeah, I totally overlooked the running cost of electrical heater vs gas heater. Not sure if it's significant though... My concern was merely beauty and also the obstruction the gas heater creates if I wanna put a dryer at the service yard
