Spent the last 2 days moving stuff and settling in.. I'm dead tired... Just collected the curtains yesterday.. Going out soon to hunt for a tv for the living room.. Hope I'll have time in the evening to post some pics..

Thanks Dyms! I love my TV console too.. Really grateful to my ID sunny.. he did a good job in designing and catering to our needs. I think the whole living room will turn out nice after I added the TV, sofa and curtain... Will keep the pics coming..

Yup... It's a very old condo.. But I find the facilities quite ok.. There are 2 pools.. And I love the scenery..

I'm going to move in tml.. Quite excited.. Haven't done with the packing.. Think I'd most prob move the essential items first.. Have to move the not so impt stuff in batches... As for the Reno... Like all Reno works.. It's not 100% smooth sailing.. There's bound to be minor problems here and there.. And I admit I am quite a fussy owner... I do ask my ID a lot of questions.. And he respond very fast. If there is indeed a problem, he will rectify it.. Hope everything will run smoothly tml

Hi Newbie.. my house reno has been quite okay.. but like all renovations, there's bound to be some hiccups here and there... Anyway did I mention i'm moving in on 6 sept? Can't remember... I know it looks kinda boring.. but that's what we wanted.. we wanted something simple, classic and goes well with the scenery from the balcony. Anyway, I like the shelves (at the right side). They are designed by my ID. But don't know why the workers have them installed too close to the kitchen door, that the pointed edge almost hit my face when I go out from the kitchen. My designer (Sunny) actually told the workers to leave abt 1 foot between the edge and the kitchen door. My ID will be rectifying the problem... So our theme for the house is contemporary.. and the main colour / tone is brown and wooden feel. I had wanted it to have a modern look actually.. something like red, black, white... but I have a wooden piano.. and a wooden dining table (gift from my grandma and I need to bring it over to my new place).. so my ID suggested a brown/beige colour scheme for my house.

Yup.. Taobao is a wonderful creation of china... I got a car video cam, panasonic lumix camera and a lot of small small items from there before.... The only bad thing is the return and exchange part... Very troublesome to exchange the product if it is faulty..

Visited my place again... the lights are up, doors are up, painting works are done... Just visited my new place today... the ceiling works are up.. the walls in the room are painted with base coat of paint... the open net people are coming to install open net next Monday... Think the lightings will be up next week.. Looking forward...

Yup.. I sent them a floor plan.. In fact I got some of my quotes from this site. I submitted my floor plan and stated my requirements.. Then the IDs started to contact me.. I also looked for a contractor whose shop is in my neighborhood.. But that contractor's quote is more than 10k higher than my ID's quote... And I need to pay extra for 3D pics some more...

Think no time for taobao already.. Plan to move in on 6 sept... So JB and ikea are my current options now

My ID has started with the ceiling works... The sanitary wares have been delivered to my new place... Looking forward to completion... Anyway, I'm challenged with a bursting budget... I was quoted 40+ k for renovation (without the electrical stuff.. As per common market practices), but now I'm spending beyond 50k already... The electrical stuff (installing of light points, plugs, concealing etc) came to ard 4k, sanitary wares, kitchen hob and hood went beyond 3k... And lightings cost 2.1k aft Discount... We did not opt for fanciful lights, most are plc and led lights.. But all add up to quite a big sum of money.... So I told my ID I'm planning to return some of the sanitary ware (towel hanger etc) to the shop and source for cheaper options.. And he's very understanding and even suggested me to try my luck at JB... Do u all have any recommendations?

Shall share my house renovation journey here with you guys... I got the keys of my house in early july. Before that I had gotten 4 renovation quotes and had shortlisted 2 of them. Eventually, I selected this ID called Sunny because he sounded very experienced and sincere. The renovation started on 15 July. We first started with hacking works - The existing tiles (wall and floor) and the kitchen cabinets were hacked off. Just visited my place today, new tiles have been laid in the kitchen, living room and the toilets. Wanted to post some pictures, but I don't know how to... Will post some pics once I have figured out how to do it... My renovation journey has been quite okay so far... keeping my fingers crossed... hopefully everything will turn out as planned. =)
