  1. hi MsPetite, juz some word of advise, island concept will take up much space and may need to sacrifise storage space. not ideal for small kitchen area unless some wall hacking done to the immediate next room, if possible. initially i wanted 2 island perpendicular to my kitchen walls. after knowing how much storage space i wasted and lack of space planning for my fridge and built-in microwave/ oven, i forgo the idea and went for a L-shaped cum semi island concept. i still get my island hood tho itz placed in an awkward position (15 degrees off the parallel due 'fengshui'). sink in the middle of the kitchen which can be accessed from the cooking vacinity and walking passage way. fridge, built-in microwave and oven are placed side by side. took me and my friend 1 month plus of brainstorming for solution and space planning. however, if u really like full island concept, do take into consideration of the wet area water proofing, drainage pipe, cold/ hot water pipes, hiding of pipes...etc. full or half island hood is priced higher than wall mount type. if u believe in fengshui, do remember that the cooking hob and water sink should not face directly opposite of each other. in other words, 'fire and water clash'. hope this helps....... cheerios
  2. 360 swirvel is nice and serves as a purpose to segregate certain areas. however the cons are the cost and area needed. not ideal for small living space and open concept. seems like samsung lcd has been very popular. im still considering between philips/ samsung and lg. samsung has very cool physical designs. philips has s-ips panel. was going to order the samsung s81 or r81. however, i chance up the new 2007 lg lcd which has faster response time, better refresh rates and itz s-ips panel for 32" and above. i think the latest that brought into local was lc4 and 7. i'm eyein the lb4/ 5 or 9 which has better picture quality. will call up lge to find out more. can't wait to setup my dream home entertainment.
  3. well, i think if you r not 'kui xing' of anything and pretty dressed up, juz ignore it and be happy that someone's amiring. now if u really find it disturbing and choose to do back same to him in anyway, it may be offensive and pose a challenge. if u choose to do a friendly face-2-face appraoch, he may be happy and think that he's attractive. bad move especially u do not know what is 'behind that door'. meantime, juz ignore this 'attention seeker' or kaypoism. it might juz be temporary issue. be happy and do what u need to do. cheerios.
  4. i was thinking that custom build may fetch high and pretty fixed structure. since i have done quite a fair bit of custom woodjob in my living room, mbr/ wardrobe + store area, i was thinking of getting seperate pieces and acheive the flexibility in arranging the furniture for my spare room. had come up with a basic idea which is: get a nice worktop/ table, install suspended white bookshelves from Ikea, 1.8m tall standing bookshelve from v.hive, tall mirror with thick frame from Ikea (planning to do some light weight lifting ). all these in without sacrificing my mahjong space would like to have more options and suggestions before making the final move. renovation process is in its final stages. much furniture has been in, juz this spare room is still empty sigh..... hi, is this th21 in boon lay way? not sure whether i have been to this moda. i remember i was around boon lay browsing novena products but cant find something which i like.
