More Carpentry Decisions Changed my wardrobe abit to cater to the room's structure issue - the 9" protruding part I had to sacrifice one 19" compartment initially for clothes to become shelving instead My final wardrobe interior is as below. Special customistion includes: 1. Pull out compartments for 3rd door (no need to reach all the way to the back for items!) 2. Glass top drawers (copy ikea design ) for 4th and 5th door 3. Boxed design for 4th door to hold belts etc My shoe cabinet drawing was also ready. Two special customisation done: 1. Small compartment catered to hang long umbrella within the shoe cabinet 2. Drawers below the settee for socks etc ID also informed yesterday that the company that produces my chosen coloured internal PVC has closed down So got to rechoose from the below options (left is the original, 2 on the right are the ones to choose from). After some thoughts, thought that it is a blessing in disguise that we get to rechoose the coloured internal PVC, coz theres not brown in our entire house concept (except for the HDB provided doors)! I asked for grey internal PVC to be in line with my house theme instead. This was what my ID recommended and we went ahead with it. It will be used for our wardrobe + our shoe cabinet. I believe that is all... unless my ID comes back with more stuff we need to decide on! Otherwise, they are all fabricating at the moment.

Happy News! Recently lots of updates on our estate FB group about foreign "opportunists" trying the gates and doors of our estates in attempt to break in and steal stuff (okay this is not the good news). And I brought up this point to hubby, voicing out my concerns.. And then subtly (erm ok, maybe not that subtly) say that digital lock has in built burglar alarm So...... he finally allowed the use of digital lock for our home! YAY! I like to think of it that he agreed due to the burglar alarm, but there's also that uneasy feeling that he don't want to be nagged at to hear about the wonders of digital locks for the next 5 years But we get to install the digital lock! The simplest model, but that's more than enough for us at the moment. YAY!

I will only get to use it in July, so can only review then But price wise, this vacuum which the tb whatsapp chat affectionately named 小白 is definitely alot cheaper Haha, maybe it was the same person, or it could be the truth? i was at the Triple One branch, what bout you? My macro fe10 is on the service yard wall nearer the toilet. Just asked my ID, the water piping won't be up so fast, likely after carpentry is done as I am not overlaying toilet or changing the HDB shower fixture. When it's up I'll post pictures? But I doubt I'll know how they link them up though.. Left it to my ID to coordinate..

That's great since u and wife have the time to monitor! Guess can save up quite abit Yup I'm using city gas heater, think uploaded some pics earlier, we chose macro fe10 due to recommendation by the salesperson n the assurance tt there's low complain rates 😋

Hmm, i think the concept is similar, just that your t5 is at the front of the cabinet, but mine is all the way at the back.. The changing of the light is a good point I will check with my ID so he leaves sufficient space for us to change the tube easily in the future!

Renovation Day 32 - 20 May Window grills installed! Had to top up a small amount for double frame so that there's no gaps between the window and the window grills frame. For those who have followed my blog all along, this is because I'm intending to install insect screens for my house, and there shouldn't be a gap otherwise insects will still enter my house through them. One option is to silicon the gap. But ID felt that silicon will turn yellow / drop off after some time and is not a permanent solution. So he discussed with his window grills contact and came up with the option of double frame. Living Room Bedroom - Only showing one as all should look the same. On a side note I asked my ID to check if my room and kitchen lights are bright enough. He told me they are super bright Service Yard Window installed at service yard as well Finally, just a photo to show how the edge of the window grill frame look without gap with my window frame Next up are all the carpentry work. Think kitchen carpentry fabrication has already started. *Excited* Did some quick discussion on my study + wardrobe room today. He faced some issue due to the structure of the room (part of it protrudes out) and was suggesting some alternatives. We managed to resolve it and he will be sending me the carpentry drawing soon.

Congrats on shifting into your new home! And oops, sorry to plant the idea into you... Prepare water in your MBR every night. Den will not need to walk out of our room to drink water at night!

Okay! Hello Le0nHart, I remember you I'm not using any demo to control my downlights, just the traditional switches.. Are coordinating your own reno? Or you got a contractor? LOL, i guess once we get used to the new house, with or without lights should be safe... Actually I think looking into the mirror with nightlight will be scarier! Coz the light will be really small and with the reflection.... Okay my imagination is running wild haha~ Thanks for dropping by Lin Jie I'm not a good cook at all, but my hubby is. So I guess I'm lucky! My kitchen sink is the Carysil Granite one.. The other rectangular looking sink is for my MBR toilet

This must be the most exciting stage! The house is materialising in front of you

Hi, can share the link for the flavouring bottles?

If you don't mind an empty house with all the carpentry works only, when i'm back in July you can come over to take a look! I think the house will only be fully furnished in Sept.. long way to go hehe.

Hi Harriette, If i'm not wrong, my cabinet will have 2 t5 lighting points. Thanks for the pictures and showing me how it looks! I think our concept is slightly different.. Your t5 is below the cabinet, so there will only be the small internal casing in the back of the cabinet itself. For mine, my ID will be hiding the t5 light such that it cannot be seen when we look at the cabinet. So the back of the top cabinet will have a hole catered there to house the t5 light. If we look at the top cabinet, the t5 will be hidden from view. That hole will be additional on top of the internal casing, so it will be at least a 2" by 2" uneven pop up inside the back of the top cabinet.. Not sure if I'm describing it well enough? Btw, your kitchen looks well stocked up, hope you are enjoying your new home

Thanks alfredt, 4ddd and yan01 for your replies! I feel bad for being fickle minded, after thinking it through, I shall stand firm to my decision of it being a full mirror feature wall. Shall remember my original reasons: To make the entrance of the house look bigger + as a place to check my attire before leaving home. 4ddd - if i'm waking up at night to grab drinks or anything, i will make sure to on my lights so as not to scare the **** out of myself yan01 - your suggestion was what i wanted initially too.. but my ID say if mix mirror with laminates, the structure will be weakened and may not last long..

Need Opinions for Bomb Shelter Feature Wall I have been thinking about my mirrored bomb shelter feature wall and am still wondering if I should go according to my original 3D drawing, or to be totally mirrored. This is the original 3D drawing. With this design, the lines to the tic tac door won't be obvious. Thinking to hide a pane of mirror inside the tic tac door so if I want to, can always open the door to check myself before heading out. This is the "example" of totally mirrored feature wall. There will be 4 mirror panes in total. The joint lines between the top pane and bottom 3 vertical panes will not be obvious, but the joint lines between the three vertical mirror panes will be obvious. Need additional opinions Anyone?
