well, one point we did not mention in the discussion are lightings lightings may contribute if you sum up the total "watts" consumed so do take that into consideration while trying to understand the cause of high utilities. also things like type of washing machine, frequency of use, use of dryer, etc....all these sum up. -

mine is hoovering around S$120 ~ S$150......... u mus make a conceited effort to turn off sources of energy consumption which are termed as "waste" yet be able to use what you wanna use when needed to achieve an optimal utility bill. while i may not have the television turned on all the time, we do have an energy inefficient home theatre setup and a hifi setup which are used pretty regularly too. typical energy consumption is around 210kWH to 230kWH....how i know cos jus read the bill last evening -

mine is around S$130+ per month. this amount includes water and gas....however there should be a few disclaimer here: 1. TV is hardly turned on, probably only not more then 10hrs a week 2. Only refrigerator is turned on 24hours, other items are turned off (not in standby when not in use) 3. Aircon for bedroom is on from about 10PM to 8AM and living room aircon on weekends throughout the day -

porcelain is a ceramic or "china-based" type material, i.e. Toilet Bowl HDB provides a standing wash basin in the common washroom and a non-porcelain wash basin in the MBR washroom. the topic of concern would be the wash basin located in the MBR washroom Note - the above configuration applies to my unit, not sure about other units but I believe should be of same configuration with difference in colour scheme only. -

guess it also depends on the colour of the sink provided too, mine is the dark grey colour so the "mould" is very prominent....and yes we use CIF and 3M sponde pad to clean it too, not able to clear all but some. hahaha anyway got so fed up so plan to have it replaced leow......its just irritating that such a big conglomerate provides such products, not to mention that they are now so proud to introduce 5year warranty. yucky yucks is the word -

since everyone has been mentioning about toilet bowls and to a certain extent taps, does anyone get bothered with the non-porcelain sink provided by HDB? though this sink is rarely used, the look is really a turn-off, has water stain that makes the colour turn white (looks like mould but it is not), and the white stains cannot be removed. these stains seem to take place after it "absorbs" water.....cannot wait to get this changed....really regret not changing this during renovation thinking it was decent. now regret -

quite unlikely that these doors can be salvaged as the mounting hole position is slightly different from door to door and unit to unit, unless if the person does not mind visibly additional holes on the door. also the dimensioning of the door also varies from unit to unit and door to door.... this was what happened to us the last time, end up discarding 5 doors -

went by Park Mall over the weekend to check out the Grohe sale, end up not buying anything as interestingly, their prices are still more expensive then outside stores..... bought the Grohe bathroom mixer and sink mixer outside. purchased the same 2 Grohe models outside for a good S$1xx less. -

you are absolutely right with your statement as the reports have clearly stated that "households would be expected to pay between S$x ~ S$y more per year but households have been given S$z to cope with this increase" to me from a literal standpoint, it seems to be all pre-planned and they have it executed in a chronological manner all said and done, increase or not, life still goes on, it is not going to make me change my household lifestyle habits for this 20%...life is too short, work is too stressful and going home is meant to be relax'g and enjoyment to whatever had been fitted to help unwind. to have restraints just makes matters worst -

these pple cum got use or not? take in all the feedbacks leow, how do they prioritise which opportunity for improvement should be executed and which should be shelved..... i think this is important to let the public know so we know when, what and how to open our mouth. else opening mouth and get nothin back is macham talking to the specially cleaned walls only personally, i prefer to ignore them. -

Since we on the topic of Town Council, was at the carpark this morning and noticed the local chinese elderly sweeper, he is **** good, at least from what i see. he was really sweeping every corner with attention to details, even a flower petal on the floor will be cleared. He is so much better then those foreign cleaning talents that are also on the same team, those are bloody going thru motion, even dirt in front of them also walk through and pretend cannot see. BTW how often do the cleaners need to sweep our corridors? You may want to pass this compliment on to Steven from the Town Council. -

abit off topic but could it be the sound of wind coming in through the gaps of the windows when they are improperly closed, since you mentioned that it also comes from the outside. -

i see my neighbours getting their papers before 8am as that is the time when i am able to leave home for work early. however, if you have regular trips overseas or leave home daily early and no one will be home, i will advise against the subscription though you get a small price advantage as this is a notice to any a**holes who have ill intentions to monitor and observe your home. you know what i mean -

well living in Singapore is like that when more than 90% of the population lack basic civic counsciousness.... dripping of belongings hanged out to dry and note that I am not mentioning laundry, its jus about anything is placed outside to drip dry-how frustrating. dog poo without bothering to pick up after the dog - pure selfish. look at the state of blk89, in particular the 3 lifts that serves the carpark - atrocious. cigarette butts even in front of door steps yet left there to accumulate more butts - bo chup. the only thing that keeps me going is jus to close my eyes to their behaviours and get on with my own life. we are far from being a gracious and world class society anyway its monday so abit grouchy -

used to be using the 8Mbps plan from starhub and decided to downgrade to the 2Mbps or 1Mbps (Cannot remember what it is now) plan also from starhub because of what you mentioned, slow down in the service during peak hours. thus no meaning to pay so much for a service that is by default slow, thus this low end plan even with slow downs is still about on par with the old 8Mbps plus all I use it for is for work purposes from home -
Philip Electronic Ballast, Which To Buy?
deepakvali replied to blackman's topic in Electronics & Electricals
if you use the 36Wx2 ballast and it fails, only 2 tubes will be affected that will not light up...the looping of wiring for other ballast is done outside of the ballast. -

it will not be us but there could be some potential Permanent Residents or Citizens who might just pay such an amount of $$$. if there are pple who does not mind paying such an enormous amount of $$$ for a hdb flat at Tiong Bahru and Mei Ling Street, why not Commonwealth Drive if we were still holding on to our old 3rm hdb flat, we definitely would welcome this S$488k offered to me as option to take over my full SERS benefits
