All Tanglin Halt Road Neighbours! Report In Here!
deepakvali replied to zirhk3355's topic in District 01, 02 ,03, 04, 05
it is possible for certain causes: 1. Unit owned by last remaining parent (one deceased) and now the last parent deceased and children do not want the flat so got to sell off.... 2. Unit owned by an Individual and this Individual also completed his last breadth so whoever is listed in will or etc will have to force sell the unit if they are not eligible to the unit..... Many other such reasons..... but it was a good price -

well if these marks are around e radius of your home entrance and it bothers you, just take some detergent and get to work to rid it, i am sure after so doing you will feel better you also done your part to help keep the area looking good....i do that to my corridor area, at least when i walk by each time i feel good looking at something nice and clean. cleanliness is not only the part of the cleaner, they are afterall only cleaners and will never be as diligent as the owners so if everyone does their part, the world will be a better place..... unfortunately most singaporeans dont think this way -

thats why many post back i criticised (i know this will not go down well with the Pro supporters) that when we have such visits, its all about putting up a show.... so superficial and fake. funds are used to spruce up the surroundings, potted plants are rented, multiple red carpark lots are specially reserved for a good 24hour with a guard in place....is there a need to resort to this level of "ball carrying" - i think not as for the current filth in the estate, it is to be expected because cleaners only clean the place once a day and typically in the morning, and i dare stick my neck out to say the cleaners at our block and mscp are pretty diligent and detailed in their works compared to others in other estates. the problem with rats and other pests is beyond the jurisdiction of our cleaners but by the Town Council....the problem is these people prefer to rest on their laurels and put on filtered eyewear where not necessary all said and done - its just a HDB estate only, just accept it as it is and you will feel better -

tats e newer series cylinders....mine is the antique, 1st generation of sub sold by SVS, PC+ 16-46, still excellent till date partnered with the also now extinct BFD. did think of changing or upgrading but dont seem to justify the waste just for the little improvement to the Ultra series cylinder -

while HSU's are just as good, i feel that SVS especially the cylinders are the most engaging among the lot, looks unique, performs very well for its price, that piece of item never fails to capture a question from visitors to our place..."What is this", "Where did you buy", "Will your neighbours complain", "Will you break stuff with this thing".... -
But Your Furniture From Manufacturers Not Retailers!
deepakvali replied to B2B's topic in Home Furnishings
how do you know if these are indeed manufacturers or just another retail front who sub-contract all the manufacturing? even if a manufacturer were to fold up, we the consumers would be the last to get any recourse, if at all -

nonetheless, for the average HT goer, SVS is a US company who used to manufacture only subwoofers and now also speakers. SVS sells direct to end users and not thru dealers so you are pretty sure of a good deal. Specification for specification comparison, SVS is unmatchable. If you like to have a subwoofer that gives out loads of dB, they have it. If you are a freak who loves deep bass, below 20hz sub-sonics, they have it with all the dB's you need. You never know what you are missing in the sub 20Hz region till you have experienced it, once experienced, no turning back. The main worry among the un-initiated would be Warranty, SVS is very prompt on Warranty, only problem is you need to work with them to troubleshoot the suspect component and they will have it dispatched to you in no time, so for those who absolutely are unable to do hands on then this is your main setback, else there is nothing to hold you back from SVS versus Yamaha, Jamo, Wharfedale, Velodyne, etc.... -

haha bro, tough to convince a non-HT geek to pump in this amount of money for a subwoofer when that sum of money could have got them a HTiB i am a proud owner of a SVS dustbin for the past 6odd years and no regrets.....it is still rattling eveyrthing around till date. -

as far as the indian car washer goes, i dont mind his presence though i will never use such pple to wash my car but what irks me of his behaviour are three things: 1. The water he uses is not from the car wash bay but stolen from the taps (actually I also dont care) but the crux of the issue is sometimes the tap is not torqued back resulting in water wastage after he leaves. As long as he uses the water is not so bad, at least our earth resources were utilised in a form or another. 2. The pails he uses are stored at the staircases of the MSCP. To me again this is not acceptable, cant he just take his pails and rags home instead of leaving them lying around in an unsightly manner. How do I know? hahha I am one of those few jokers who opt to take the stairs almost all the time 3. The way he washes, is via sprinkling water onto the car, almost like sprinkling holy water, thus the cars on either side will also get wet which is really frustrating if one has just washed their car and very particular about water stains. Anyway revolving around the estate, the most irritating is the driveway to the MSCP where SS disallows delivery trucks to use the delivery bays resulting in these trucks parking all along the drive way resulting in drivers having difficulty navigating out of the MSCP near to Block 89/90. I have taken all the necessary photos but am too busy to highlight to the relevant authorities as I know it is going to be a long hauled game with these bunch of officers, maybe when I get a little time off my work. i have even come across once where they were unloading onto a trolley along the drive way with the other trolley fully loaded in the middle of the drive way rendering it impossible for cars to pass. i was kind and patient to not even tap my horn while the looked at me waiting for them to unload more stuff with no shame or responsibility to bother to move the trolley that was blocking my path. It took a good few minutes before they finished unloading and pushed the trolley away while giving me the _|_ look -
in terms of the wire/cable construction, they are identical but can be used for different purpose. so in ur case, depending on what you need the cable, i.e. between HTS and what?, else very difficult to advise you because there can be a situation where a user requires both the audio and video cable.

if u may pardon my frankness, i doubt the COP thingy will work for this case. Why? 1. Most of these petty theft takes place either in the day - aka while we are all busy at work trying to make ends meet or in the wee hours of the day - aka while we are all busi snoozing or having sex , so how will COP work when it takes place weekday evenings or maybe weekend day where these idiot5 will be probably at Sungei Road selling their petty stolen wares. 2. Also COP thingy will be in a group, the sight and impending footsteps would probably trigger these ar5sehole5 into flight Thus, to me, unless we are prepared to forgo and sacrifice alot of our committments, I seriously doubt COP will work for this case anyway forgot to add, if the ar5sehole is so unlucky to let me catch, i swear and promise i will take a hammer to smash one of his finger and let that finger be the middle finger...god ble55 the ar5sehole -

knn....now not only shoe theft, i have a small little hanging display which i hang outside the house (Not valuable) or i should term it artifact, and hey presto, just realise this morning it is GONE too whats up with this pple....are times that bad that even such things also wanna steal, only worth a few dollars plus I had my address smeared onto the back of it, any pride using something with someone else's address? i know some pple maybe thinking that i may have asked for it by placing such stuffs outside but well yes however it is never expected that even such things also will be stolen. so everyone, with the economy getting bad, you have to watch over and protect your belongings carefully. -
seal the windows and door with foam filler to minimise sound leakage is your best friend. using carpets is not going to help as these are mainly preventing the reflection, refraction and absorb some frequencies of sound only, so you still have a whole multitude of frequencies to deal with

What To Use To Clean Joints Between Homogeneous Tiles?
deepakvali replied to newhouse's topic in Home Maintenance & Repairs
i remember my parents unit have almost perfect grout fill till today, i.e. still white but today our units are terrible even before moving in. i got this feeling that the grout lines getting dirty or stained so easily, as early as when renovation is complete is a sign that the type of grouting fill is different from the good old days. downgraded material for cost purposes is where my dollar bet goes to -

spot on, there have been a thief on the prowl of late, i had an expensive pair of ASICS men running shoes outside the house for many months, placed outside on a shoe rack intentionally as the sole is abit worn for my running....actually meant to tempt these IDIOT5.....finally a week or two ago, the IDIOT struck. so for others, beware of your precious footware before it is too late...it is the season for sharing now -
if your drill is those combo drill that you bought from Homefix or DIY store, you can greatly put it aside as it is almost unlikely you will be able to drill to the required depth, if you look at its specifications, it is only able to go in 13mm (if memory doesnt fail me) for masonry stuff...so 10mm is about right for your case. you need a dedicated hammer drill to have the depth n impact

imo, i will not go on with this contractor because no matter how detailed we are in listing down the requirements, in all fairness, we are not in this trade, they will have their methods to still pull a stunt here and there. all said and done, while you may have suspended his services, is there any possibility that he is able to turn around legally and claim damages from you on not allowing him to finish works? why do i say so? you probably would have signed a contract with him to have services and materials a to z to be rendered and he can always claim that raw materials have been prepared thus claiming for damages.
