Wall Seepage Outside Toilet Wall
Pelect replied to eunicelowyl's topic in Home Maintenance & Repairs
From the photo, other than the stain, it looks ok. Did you ever rest any tables, bicycles, mops, etc on this wall? Anyway, pls share what HDB says. -
Wall Seepage Outside Toilet Wall
Pelect replied to eunicelowyl's topic in Home Maintenance & Repairs
Not quite sure if this is due to the cement not fully cured before painting. Do you have a bathtub behind this wall? Mind if you share with us what your ID says. -
If you are sensitive to noise, you also need to be careful when you buy robot vacuums. They are also very noisy. I had the Roomba and later changed to Karcher robot vacuum because the Roomba nosie drives me crazy. Also, take note that robotic vacuums are for light maintenance vacuuming. In terms of vacuuming power and capacity; robotic vacuums are relatively weak. Also, you need to empty the dust bin fairly often, expect for the Karcher vacuum. This means it has higher maintenance as compared with normal vacuums.

Hi Eunice, Here is the link to help you post pictures: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/topic/60248-guide-to-upload-photos/ It would help if you also describe which walls connect with the wall that is leaking. -
Wall Seepage Outside Toilet Wall

Maybe post some pictures so we can have a better picture of the situation? -
I have the long handheld vacuum similar to the one you mentioned but not the same brand. What I can say is that battery operated vacuums have short running times and are not suitable to vacuum a large area. It is more like a supplementary vacuum to do quick cleanups. If you do decide to buy, remember not to leave it to charge 24X7. It will shorten the battery life if you do that. Also make sure the battery is Lithium ion and not Nickel Metal Hydride or Nickel Cadmium as they require greater battery maintenance.

Plc 2-Pin Convert To E27 Led Lightbulbs
Pelect replied to softgel's topic in Electronics & Electricals
I also did what you mentioned but I changed the entire lamp holder. The reason I changed all to E27 was to allow me the flexibility to change the bulb wattage and not worry about matching/changing the ballast to the wattage of the bulb as in the case of PLC. E27 fluorescent lamps have the ballast built into each lamp so you free to swap the lamps if you find them too bright or not bright enough. Do note that even if you do find this adapter/converter, the correct way to install it would still be to remove the existing ballast from your PLC. The common practice of direct replacement for those tubes using converters has raise concerns over fire hazards. In my opinion, the best/safer way is for you to replace the entire lamp holder to E27 type. This gives you the flexibility to have either E27 CFL or E27 LED and not worry about the ballast that is currently attached to your PLC -
It depends on what you are looking for; e.g. do you want a very quiet type, the size, etc. I had a Rowenta in the past and I like it as it is small and portable. Power is mid range as I don't like vacuums that 'suck' like crazy because I don't have carpets. I have not used a Philips before as I don't like their designs especially the lower end range. Regardless, it is more important to list down your criteria first. Rowenta also has a very silent vacuum but as mentioned earlier, silent vacuums have trade offs but worth it if you can't stand the noise.

Good sharing. I had the Electrolux silencer when it first came out and it died 2 years later. Yes, silence means thick insulation and shorter motor life. I also have the DC26 like you and use it infrequently as it is too loud. The DC26 has a small capacity so need to empty frequently. It might become a chore. The one I use more often is the Karcher T12 pro (also with thick sound insulation) and is very quiet. I also bought the hose extension to make vacuuming easier. Not sure if this unit will last and hopefully it will.

Hdb Resale Flat Aircon Power Point - 15A Or 13A?
Pelect replied to chrizz's topic in Plumbing & Electrical Works
Normally, a 13A point is not a dedicated point; i.e. it is connected in parallel with several other 13A points. All these connected 13A points are linked to a 20A circuit breaker forming a circuit. Another group of sockets will also be linked to another 20A circuit breaker, forming another circuit. When all your equipment draw power from these linked sockets for a particular circuit, the total power can be quite high and if you also use the socket for air con, it might likely draw too much current in total, beyond the running current you mentioned. Considering that air con draws a relatively significant amount of current and is turned on for fairly long duration, I would not take any risk in using a 13A socket outlet. -
I see. Besides IMM, Choo Chiang Marketing carries quite a lot of electrical stuff with reasonable prices. They have several branches. You can google to see which location suits you.

I also have the Legrand 4 gang switch. Yes, Legrand switches seems to require less force to activate but I don't have the issue of one of the switches requiring more force to activate. Regardless of brand, sometimes you get different feel in the force needed to activate multiple gang switches. You can test it out at the shop when you buy them. I know Schneider also carries the 4 gang tall switch but I am not sure if the force needed is the same or more than Legrand. You can try it out at Homefix in IMM. They have samples on display. If you are going to split into 2 switches, two separate 2 gangs may look nicer than one 3 gang and one 1 gang but it's up to you.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! Yes OEM is fine but it's the fakes that's scary. I noted many people buy electrical stuff from overseas but some of them the quality is so bad that's it not safe because we are dealing with greater than 50V which can kill. I once bought an adapter plug locally (no brand but you know where) which was supposed to have the metal earth pin grounded but when I dismantle it, it was not connected; i.e. there is no earthing. This is not only cheating but it's also dangerous. I think for those things that are not safety related, it's probably ok. The most is just throw it away. I buy most of my electrical stuff locally. I find Hager brand is relatively cheap and quality is very good. Legrand is expansive and I haven't come across Siemens switches locally.

Need Urgent Help On Legrand Water Heater Switch.. Connection
Pelect replied to sgbdk's topic in Electronics & Electricals
Good. Yes, I installed the same one as you but took it out after one day because the mechanical timer is so noisy. I cannot take it. I believe it will definitely save $$ especially if you have kids and they don't turn off the heater. -
If I am not mistaken, beams and structural stuff should not be drilled. Regardless, if you do, if you hit any rebar, it will not go through. You can use those adjustable rods that pushes against the walls. IMM sells those.

Interesting. Are these real (as original Siemens and Legrand)? Did you buy them? Thanks.

I extracted the translation from google: [specification] A section: Diameter 26CM, B section: Diameter 12CM, C models: Diameter 25CM [Power] E27 lamp holder * 1, can put energy-saving lamps, incandescent bulbs, LED energy saving bulb, (products are not presented in this paragraph source) Suitable light source power: 51-60W In summary, what it means is E27 (screw on type with a power of no more than 60W). Take note the size is about 1 foot in diameter. How do you plan on installing the lights? If you do not know how to install, you have to factor in the cost of getting someone to install. This is household electricity 220V so don't attempt to change your existing lights if you are not sure. Be safe.

Our First Home At Cck
Pelect replied to kim76's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat - HDB Resale Renovation & Interior Design
Hi Kiasume, Did you manage to get it to work after changing to higher rating transformer? I hope it does because normally if you power a 110V device with a 220V source, it is likely to damage the equipment. Rgds, -
This is a simple PVC hanger to hang clothes after ironing. I made it for my maid after seeing her hang clothes all over the place (not her fault). I took this design off Google and adapt it to whatever local hardware is available. The pipes are electrical pipes. Better to make them using PVC water pipes if you want to make them. http://i537.photobucket.com/albums/ff334/reframe/photoPVChanger_zpsbac31be6.jpg
