I also believe marital bed if havent an chunag cannot sleep on it 1st. Got plastic cover also will be meaningless. A bed is a bed. If ppl say must an chuang 1st cannot sleep means cannot sleep lor. No point taking the risk to sleep on it for a few mths b4 AD and then having the marriage not so smooth for life.

i think that'll very much depend on the number of projects they have on hand. If they are really tied up and cant spare any workers to do additional job, they may not take it regardless the budget.

Oh... i have to admit this Dominic is very jia lat! I didnt do my reno with him but tried to get a quotation from him was already a pain. After the 1st meetup, he says he wanna meetup with the quote. But last min say his wife give birth cannot meet. He tried to arrange again and again on that day gave excuse say leg pain cannot meet. He himself fixed another appt with us but on that day asked a gal to call us say his son in hospital. WAH he so suay hor? Im quite skeptical with his excuses la and didnt bother contacting him. He called one day say will email the quote.. until now no sound no picture. So I dun think its wise to do reno with them. by the way ah... this dominic is the boss of aranus lor!

Best is not to decide when under pressure. Decisions made under pressure often leads to regrets. There was one ID whom I'm still not satisfied with the quote and service yet wants to bring me go select tiles! Immediately I told him NO. Even if he's gonna give me a **** good deal, I want to have some time to think over, research on his company as well as discuss with my other half. Nv nv decide under pressure!

I also tried to contact him for a quote. Initially he says ok can give quote. After a few days I call him back to chk when he can deliver the quote. Only then he says he is too busy to take up my project and he hasnt work on the quote. Im ok if he is busy la but at least hv the courtesy to call bk n inform instead of making us wait right? No time call... dun tell me sms also no time? sigh

Hello all, tks for your reply! As this is our 1st time doing reno for our lovenest, that's why I would like to find out if its the norm that IDs do not give soft / hardcopy quotes. With your replies, I've gotten the answer I want. And yes cheesecake, I had the same thinking as u! We are paying customers so I have the rights to question or clarify everything in the quote. But to which, the ID was not happy and felt that I'm not trusting him. He even insisted his company is case trust. But case trust doesnt mean there will be no black sheep employee in the company right? Anyway, we didnt sign anything. I checked back with my frd who used them previously and they gave her a hardcopy quote at least. THere was no extra charges for the drawings too! Maybe he tot we 1st timer so can TOK us lah! We may be green but not stupid leh.

Hi Titank, hows ur decision? We are also considering something similar but not sure if between Panasonic or LG and Plasma or LCD? Some say Korea stuff consume more electricity and some says Plasma screen is reflective and the technology will die max after 8 yrs. So not sure which we want to invest in.

Anyone met any ID who refused to give you any soft or hard copy quotation? We went to one and he refuses to give it to us and insisted its a company policy. He only ran thru the quote verbally with us. But we do not feel comfortable without it because there's bound to be hidden costs or some other costs that might not have been factor in or perhaps costs that he has left out. Hence we want the quote to run thru the items one by one on our own to make sure that what we need is written in black and white. During the 1st email ball park figure quote, nothing was mentioned that there will be design costs. Even 1st meet up when he showed us the quote, there was no mention. When we met up the 2nd time, he suddenly whip out a contract indicating that apart from the overall reno quote, we have to pay a 10% design fee on top of the renovation quote which was never never mentioned prior to the 2nd meet up! Kinda felt cheated of our time. I mean if he had been upfront about the design fee perhaps we would not have felt cheated. Just imagine if we decide to let him do the job, along the way, he might just surprise us with more costs that has never been mentioned. He kept saying we shld trust him because the company's been in the market for long and is a case trust company. But that doesnt mean all things dicussed shouldnt be stated in black and white right? If along the way, there should be any dispute, where are we to fight the case when there is no black and white? He was also unhappy that I questioned him item by item. But Im a paying customer! Dont I have the rights to find out and make him justify for the costs he quoted me? I need to know what Im paying for. Just need to grumble a bit and find out what is exactly the norm among the IDs here, as in do they give you the quotation to take home?
