Hi AlvinW, Am no expert on home theatre system. Only learnt from my HTB as we went about researching for our home. Just to share our experience, we asked to listen to all the M models you named. All sounds good, but the one that we really like and purchased in the end is Mordaunt Short. Price wise is reasonable too. We didn't get the genie range though. If I remember correctly, the one we bought is the Premiere range. Currently awaiting to install it. Hi MaCe, Which model of Mordaunt Short did you get?

Hi saychez Our appointment was after yours on that Saturday. How is your renovation and shopping coming along? We selected most of our laminates sometime in April after selecting the floor tiles. It is really an interesting, yet mind boggling process what with the myriad of colours and designs ! Still left with laminate selection for 1 room. Yup, Frankie has good sense for laminates. Many a times, we shortlisted other laminates and found ourselves selecting his recommendation after seeing the sample. What is the theme for your flat? We are looking for a cozy feel and think his recommendations for lights will help (based on lighting effects of his Woodlands Condo project) Hi zacey Bought most of your stuff already? We still have sanitary ware, furniture and electrical items not bought yet. These few days, Frankie is really very busy. We just met him this evening and he was gonna work late as well today. -
Hi B2B The promotion is not store-wide; other than the console it is extended to some furnishings as well. You looking to get other stuff from them? Hi Yanee Think they advertised it as original price being more than $1.5k (if I recalled correctly)? Perhaps can see whether they have similar promotion this weekend?

Hi ilys Overall, we had a theme in mind before meeting up with Frankie. You can also wait for him to propose themes, but in the end you will have to decide which one you are most comfortable with. Just envision the type of place you will look forward to coming home to, and that may help you in shortlisting & deciding on the theme. Can also check the home decoration magazines for ideas To what we understand, he is quite experienced in lighting. If you are not comfortable with what was proposed, you can just let him know. He will highlight to you the possible outcomes for the options you choose to go with and that helps a lot! We also got "scolded" by him several times too, having changed and explored different items / colours with him. More often that not, we find ourselves rethinking what he said and going back to what he proposed, because it is much better. This is part of the communication & learning process and it is something that we are comfortable with -

Hi ilys His ruler and pencil is really his trademark! Think zacey will agree on this point Just to share my experience. In the first appointment with him, we listed the things we wanted the renovation to cover. In the midst of it, Frankie also tried to understand the overall concept we wanted for our home. So, we did touch on some aspects of design, but not the details. Before we got the quotation, he was aware of our budget. When we received the first version, those stuff which we decided could possibly be purchased outside, we took it out while discussing with him. Think it helps Frankie and us to focus on what we wanted him to help us for the renovation. Subsequent discussions revolved around design ideas and cost as well. At times, we did discussed about putting in some items that were previously dropped because of re-evaluation. Hence, some of them appeared again in revisions of quotation The process has been quite dynamic in our case and luckily he was patient with us. No and fast rules - just go along with what you are comfortable with EI's pricing is neither the highest nor the lowest. One of their distinguishing factor is workmanship which has been complimented in this thread too. Having viewed some past projects, that is one of the deciding factor for us -

Hi zacey No worries! Even before the renovation starts, it's like a frenzy of things to look into, for many of us. Yeah, Frankie's schedule is really tight nowadays. Good thing is amongst the hustle bustle, he is still keeping tab on what's happening in the renovations Wow, you must be looking forward to it! When is your renovation expected to complete? Our home is in central. Yours? -

Hi saychez, Yes, we visited the Woodlands Condo with you! Were you @ the EI office in Woodlands this afternoon too? Hmm, I guess it depends on what you are looking for and whether you are doing false ceiling/L Box. Frankie brought us to some shops and the one we finally bought most of the lights from, has better quality as recommended. The guy from the lighting shop is quite easy to talk to as well. When are you planning to get the lightings? I think this is really the busy period where have to juggle research, shopping, negotiating, discussing designs and going to the flat to see renovation progress (quite exciting!). It is quite a fun and enriching process We also still have a lot of furnishings and appliances to buy. Plan is to get essentials and buy the rest slowly bit by bit. Our expected completion date is around the same time as you. Have you bought your sanitary ware yet? -
There is a promotion @ Cellini this weekend, as advertised in Straits Times. For those interested in the Manhattan TV console, it is now discounted @ 50% costing around $900+.

Hi saychez, Budget-conscious he sure is! Before we signed with Frankie and during the many re-quotes, he highlighted that there is a fair amount of things we have to buy for the house, besides spending on the renovation. After buying the lightings, we thought back of what he said and realized that he really thinks long term for his customers! We are gonna start our renovation soon with initial steps of electricals and the like, as cement screeding was just completed not too long ago. When is your renovation expected to complete? From the way, you described your floor, I felt that it is yet another reassurance of EI's good workmanship By the way, from the way you talked about Frankie's collection of "calligraphy", pardon me if I ask - were you & your wife the ones who visited one of Frankie's completed condominium project in Woodlands with another couple, on one Friday evening in end March (if I recall correctly)? By the way, he has yet to talk about his collection with us -
hi! anyone bought simmons lakeview recently? and what is the current going price? was quoted about $2.7k at their gallery.

hi zacey! nice to know that we have the same ID. yup, do agree with your observations about Frankie's professionalism. a number of times my HTB and I tried exploring ideas contrary to his. in the end, we found that what he proposed is still most suitable for us. for that, he really gained our respect and every time we meet up with him, we learn something interesting about design / furnishings we also went through about 4 - 5 revisions of quotations with him before signing. have you signed with him yet? -
Hi doubl3a, Just went to Cellini Park Mall today and the price is around S$890 now. The brackets are provided but the sales representative mentioned that if the LCD TV is from Samsung, need to highlight to them as they need to do the brackets differently. It comes in a white matt colour as well. We have not bought it as yet, as wondering whether there will be sale soon.

Hi to all! We have also signed with Earnest Interiors and our ID is Frankie. After visits to various ID firms, the decision was made for many reasons. Firstly, we found that he is rather practical and advises us not to overspend After reading the posts in this thread, this factor seems to be rather common amongst IDs from Earnest.... Definitely a big plus point! Initially, we had wanted to do a platform for our bed, but he highlighted the 'difficulty' in future when pregnant, it will be very hard to get up from the platform bed. Being layman, we were just into design trends and did not think much about other stuff. None of the other IDs actually highlighted this. So, when he mentioned this, it left an impression on us plus some other kitchen designs he talked about during our first meeting. We were also rather satisfied with workmanship after viewing 2 of his past projects. He is open and up front about things, which is something both my HTB and I really like because that goes a long way in the renovation process and similarly we can be open and upfront with him as well! So far, though our renovation have not started (still waiting for HDB to rectify defects and do cement screeding), we had discussions about the designs and choosing floor tiles and laminates for carpentry. Talking about designs, actually we were undecided about certain items and had to keep asking Frankie to change. Luckily, he is very patient with us and explains how each of our changes will affect other items. Thanks, Frankie, really appreciate it! And what is renovation without the fun of enjoying the process? We have had some fun and laughter along the way as he manages to make the process a relaxing one for us. Sometimes, really feel like as if chatting with a friend from whom we can learn much stuff on design. That is all for now. Will update again as the renovation starts. We are targeting it to begin sometime in May, as the screeding will only be done the coming week. In the meantime, back to shopping for stuff for the flat
