  1. yeah, most of the shops operate the same times as office hours ie mon-fri 10am - 6pm. sat prob only open half-day in the morning... that kinda sux for those people like me that can only do house stuff on the weekends
  2. i went to the jalan besar area to look for downlights and found that they tend to be cheaper than those in balestier. Around $25 for 18W. can't recall the name of the shop but u can walk around the area of kelantan lane. you should find many hardware shops selling housing things. it's supposed to be the place where contractors come to buy stuff. that's why i think that for things that are more "commodity", think that jalan besar is a good choice. if you want better design, then places like lightcraft and areas like balestier would be better.
  3. hihi to all intend to change the current door (regular wooden hinged door with wooden door frame) into a sliding door. however, with the installation of a sliding door, the existing wooden frame looks weird protruding out. i'm thinking of ways to cover-up the wooden door frame because hacking it out may damage the floor tiles, which i then have to replace them. i saw someone's place where their contractors "boxed" up the door frame and then covered it with door laminates so there's some design touch to it. anyone knows how it can be done or have better ideas of doing it? thks
