  1. yeah i know... but somehow i like to see my picture big big. Partly because used to using 21" monitor at work ehehehe. Hey apple, I've moved in new place but have to leave my babies at old place in the meantime lah. Poor kitties. My house right now is swamped with my bros kids because of holiday. Don't want to traumatize my cats. But I'm traumatized by the thots of leaving them on their own *sob sob sob*
  2. Hi Clare, sorry but I don't have the breakdown of cost. But I wouldn't say it is costly if its done only for the living area. As for the photos posting, I think there is a guideline somewhere in this forum on how to post pictures. Anyway... here's what I did and hope it helps: - save image in jpg format (72dpi) I'm trying to adjust to a smaller size. Some of my previous images a bit too big hee hee - open an account with photobucket (www.photobucket.com) - post images/pictures in photobucket - cut and paste the IMG link into this page - try and preview before posting Good luck... and of course welcome to the forum
  3. Sorry PRGR, I don't have the updated image. This is the pic taken earlier in renovation. Yes... kitchen is very small so must plan properly. I made a narrow low cabinet on the other side of the kitchen for storage. Above that would be the cabinet to house the unsightly citygas heater and some simple shelf for me to put my radio and some decorative stuff. The cabinet shown is minus the solid top and I've changed the middle white door to have a more uniform cherry doors. Beside this cabinet, I place an island unit that I bought from Picket and Rail. It is solid wood cherry color to match my cabinet... its actually those small table with 2 stools. Perhaps sometime next week after I've really settled down comfortably I'm able to take a better pic .
  4. ok... will try to post it tomorrow. Going home already now
  5. rainshower so syok lah. But I like cold shower in the morning to wake me up ehehehe... Hot shower at nite to help me fall asleep
  6. Yes its the free one from Citygas. The pressure is good on my rainshower head. It takes about 2 minute to fully heat up the water.
  7. Been bz with moving and no internet connection at new place yet. Common toilet has serious leak and HDB has to hack my toilet to mend it In the end my place is dirty again . My internet connection will be up by this weekend hopefully and I can post more pics by next week I think. So to answer some questions ehehehe... very late already liao. Sori hor... Gas Heater - It can be boxed up in cabinet provided there is opening on the top and bottom for ventilation and using a cascading door for easy access. Read this from the flyer that City Gas sent me. Window Grill - Cost around $2500++ for my whole house around 22 panels (including bathrooms). According to my contractor, the wrought iron is galvanized so not easy to get rusty. Fanco Ceiling Fan with Lights/Remote - Mine is Aroma too... so far so good . Ok better not take too much company time to do personal things hee hee
  8. I got my C S Solingen wok and 12 pc stainless steel cookware from my ID. I press it from him as free gift since I'm getting other stuff from Mayer It is made in Germany and you can see the range from mayer.com.sg I might be going down to 42 Joo Chiat Road this Wed to check out the cheap and nice plates that have been much touted there.
  9. I work from 8:30am to 5pm... 5 days work week. Lunch time 45min. But wait... I work in Tuas liao Reach home at 6pm. Lots of time to do my own things
  10. 5pm sharp. Also have company transport. How come no poll for 5pm one
  11. I also want to share my furry babies... Fit the male cat is 7years old and below is Kula who is 15years old already
  12. This is the other rug and she is already 15years old Her name is Kula, the boy's name is Fit. Both of them can't get along. Fit is around 7 years old and is hyperactive and playful. He likes to bully Kula when he is bored. Even my neighbour is afraid of him Waaahh you so good take leave to accompany your babies. They are soooo lucky man. Haha 42 Joo Chiat Road... that is right behind my reno consultant's showroom. Always go down to his office to chit chat and make him buy me lunch ehehehe... Now can ask him to accompany me buy plates wooo
  13. Alamak... forgot how much I got it for. I think $200++ including installation. Will check with my reno consultant because he is the one who changed the model at last minute for me because the lights for this fan is bigger compared to elmark. He also claimed he have to pay more but he absorb the cost. Saw the invoice but not my fault that he changed the model for me ehehe. The shop is somewhere in Jalan Besar... will let you know if I manage to dig more info soon. My house now very messy lah! From what I understand from the lighting shop, fanco as a product is good but not their after sales service. But since I bought it through my consultant... anything happen he is responsible lor wakakakakaka I saw your cute rugs applefreak. Look sooooo cuddly. I have 2 babies myself... but my girl is very old, frail and sickly already. But I still love her to bits and pieces and watever is left of her. Now I worried how the kitties are going to adjust to the new place...
  14. The bathtub is around 1450 so your space is good enough. Just for reno, so far (I think I've stretched enough already) is about 25K tops. You may notice that my lightings are minimal though... no cove lights, spotlight or L-box at all except for 2 downlights at foyer area to bedrooms There are also no hacking done at all. Consist roughly of the following: - Flooring (homo + laminate) - kitchen cabinet - cornice full house - timber skirting - wall feature including tv console construction (tv console no pic yet) - shoe cabinet (no pic) - wardrobes and low cabinet for 2 rooms - tempered glass door for masterbedroom toilet - jacuzzi base construction - wrought iron windows - custom made single pull-out bed (no pic) - custom made computer table (no pic) - electrical - plumbing - painting Those without pics are last minute addition because I am frustrated I can't find ready ones to my liking lor Initially only plan to do just simple reno to save cost hee. Altogether I'll be spending 40K (I allocate strictly this amount ) for this new place which includes the following - lightings + ceiling fan - bath accessories - jacuzzi - cooker, hood & hob - fridge, washing machine & dryer - samsung 32" R81 tv - island unit for kitchen consist of table & 2 stool (because don't intend to get dining set) - custom made cotton single mattress for my beloved mommy - custom made cotton cushion for low cabinet at bay window in master bedroom & also top of shoe cabinet - 3 seater + 2 seater + coffee table (good bargain from Picket & Rail warehouse clearance sale... all at less than $900. No pic yet because I requested the item to be delivered only in mid June after our house warming prayers on the 9th June) - queen size bed + mattress - curtains & rods (installing this weekend) - pillows + bolsters + bedsheets for all rooms from Aussino - shelvings for HHS cum storeroom - speaker/dock/clock/alarm/radio for my ipod because I need music in my bedroom Money already put aside (from the 40K) but have not bought yet... - study table + chair + chest of drawers for niece room - carpet for the space in front of tv console - wall clocks - hunting for wooden mat <<< need to get out of Singapore for this !! ... trying JB if not have to fly to Sarawak !! - set of new plates & kitchen stuff - some knick knacks and miscellaneous items... not sure what yet but just put aside money lah. Anyway not so urgent stuff which slowly can look and buy since all basics got already. I have a small book which I carry everywhere to list down all my spendings and keep track of things Right now counting down to moving at the end of the month woohoo... very tired but cannot rest till dunno when. After move still have to unpack waa waa waaa ....
  15. Queensize bed for masterbedroom from Picket and Rail One of the rug that we will be taking along to the new place eekekeke

  18. yes I am... but been a while since I last dive since saving up for new house. Die die must dive again soon
  19. Pics to share... My tv wall feature. At first thought of using my old tv console. But after seeing the finished product, I've decided to customize one to match the wall feature... gatal me At the same time also getting shoe cabinet done since I can't find one that is suitable. Entrance to my kitchen with timber skirting Top view of kitchen cabinet with cornice Bottom view of kitchen cabinet Blum system for salt and spice and anything nice The unsightly gas heater is finally boxed up with wire mesh and open top cabinet for ventilation. This is on the other side of my small practical kitchen
  20. For the ants, you can buy from NTUC (sometimes neighborhood shop) a brown substance (sand-like). Put it at the path of the ants and when they bring it back to their nest, it will wipe out their entire colony As for the small fly, it may be attracted to some mouldy patch that it feeds on. Look out for this in your toiletries compartment. Get silicon gel to cover up any holes that you can find as this may be the gateway for all these pests.
  21. I got the jacuzzi from Sim Siang Choon for $888 If I'm not mistaken installation by my own contractor cost around $400
  22. Ehehe no problem. Got it from my ID. It looks good in his showroom so I just point out that I want something like that hee
  23. There is a spray from NTUC. The container is green... sorry forgot the name. You can find it together with other insecticide. There are some pictures of all sorts of bugs on the container. It is really good and odorless. My friend recommended this tip but I don't have time to experiment on it. Leave durian skin near the areas infected by bedbugs. They can't stand the smell. My friend vouch that it works and she tried it before. For me... the spray works. Also I throw away my wooden bedframe and replace with metal ones. After all the pest is called bedbugs. I guess it don't like metal beds hee hee
  24. My neighbour is going for the whole house laminate (except for kitchen and toilet of course). It all depends on your preference and concept. There is no such thing as wrong or right. If you are comfortable with it... go for it
