Toxic Gases Emissions In Resilient Floors
battleangel replied to battleangel's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
Went to a Bata shoe shop today, their new cartons of stocks arrived and my oh my,the smell of rubber in the fully air-conditioned unit was so overpowering, that patrons including me all started to leave one by one.Pity the salesgirls who hv to be stuck there. Now just imagine, inhaling toxic emissions consistently in our home abode, example bedrooms with air con units, how unhealthy it can be.With cancer arguments all over google over the usage of resilient floors, the Bata scenario tdy tells me one stuff, rubber is still rubber no matter how they want to call it.Its 99% toxic.- 17 replies

Toxic Gases Emissions In Resilient Floors
battleangel replied to battleangel's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
Prevention is better than cure(old adage). With an admission of most things being toxic nowdays, minimizing the inhaling of toxins is better,I guess. All the more reasons.- 17 replies

This topic was brought up cause its quite disturbing to see a growing emergence of resilient floorings in the interior design world.Masqurading as waterproof laminate floors and acting on the popularity of the product, numerous flooring companies start on it like a Bubble tea fashion without any concerns about the toxic poisonous gases being circulated in homes and sniffed in by children and adults alike. If its that safe,i very much doubt the flooring manufacturers will even bother to do a toxicity test on it.With concerns of the possibilities of deformation in chidren and cancerous arguments in google search engines and even World health organization running a report on it,as consumers it got us pretty worried. So much for Saving Gaia.Any feedbacks?

That was quite a big level of termites there, yucks is the only way to describe.Nevertheless,to most people knowledge,no wood is termite proof, not that I know of.And consumers in Singapore being so intelligent ,are still so gullible by lip services.Blame it on greed, all sense of reasoning is thrown out of the window.Guess, out of the thousands of jobs done is Spore,i can say its a jackpot.

Was wondering, resilient floor or vinyl is like the in thing right now perceiving it as waterproof laminate floors.Bewildered that a 70-80s rubber tiles floors is the floor of choice for many homeowners and designers, with its so called waterproof properties, ignoring the toxicity of poisonous carcinogen gases with the possibility of getting cancer. It makes the whole Go Green or those Green Label accreditions into a whole big joke. With $$$$ at the end of it,retailers are ignoring being socially responsible to protect future generations. But anyway, consumers are also to blame for trusting lip service and confusion tactics by retailers. The fact is,you gotta ask the very persons who market it out,do you had it installed in your own homes.Poison in your own homes?Only a nutcase will do so.So much for eco friendly.

Most interior designers it seems incorporate laminated wooden floors to their 3 bedrooms packages. It can't be by coincidence that they do so.I believe it's due to the warm feeling and cosyness they it bring to the bedrooms outlook, ala resort style.Unfortunately consumers are mostly duped into picking up laminate but the non quality ones as most designers tend to promote China boards due to the cheapness of it but at the client expenses. There are many good quality Germany laminated floors in the market out there namely,Kronotex,Sensa Floors and Krono original which is fairly affordable.Do not be fooled by interior designers who just sales talk.get the facts right and protect your investment, which is your home.Buy smartly.

Ran through google ads and saw some really good Germany laminated flooring brands in the market, namely Kronotex,Krono original and Sensa floors. Was impressed with the visuals provided for and the attractive prices quoted.Shopping for laminated floors is now a breeze, all you hv to do is click, click on your dashboards.Am going direct and saving myself a bit of money for other stuff.Economy's bad at the moment.

Went through the recently concluded Dream Home exhibition @ Singapore Expo and found a few significant authentic Germany manufactured laminated flooring brands there, namely,Kronotex,Krono Original and Sensa. Each of them market out the standard bearer of laminate floors,AC3 - AC5 with warranties.Price is also attractive as I found its more cheaper than what the interior designers in the expo hall quote as well even though similar brands.Makes more sense to purchase direct, what with the economic crisis now looming.

Golden question again;why always laminated or timber floorings in bedrooms?Well,to refresh netizens, these wooden floors are comfy and warm to the outlook.Laminated floors are coverings where you can simply overlay on top of practically any floor even surface.Economical, ecological and environment friendly, these floors do not emit the controversial toxins existent in vinyl or resilient floorings.Sure, they are not waterproof, but anyone with an IQ shd know these are wood based materials. With an array of colours to choose from,it makes perfect sense to incorporate these floors to the design sense layout. They are not the designers choice of floors for nothing.

Did a product research on the various vinyl products in the market available and am a bit disturb by the arguments floating around on google by various health authorities mentioning about the emissions of carcinogen,a poisonous toxicity that may cause cancer.Had enough already of the haze in spore,nw im just imagining if im gonna breath carcinogen everyday in my house.Really really concern.

Yucks, seeing the termites beneath the solid wood floors is hair-tingling.Eerie feel, considering that the termites may build up and spread up to other parts of the house. Can't take chances worrying about termites crawling to my baby cot or into my bedframes. So eerie seeing the termites.

Saving.gaia.-an initiative by Mediacorp.Save my world, for the future, the children, for humanity. All this chopping down of solid wood and usage of wood is not eco-friendly and good for our earth. We hv to look hard at ourselves and try to find other ways and means to use more eco-friendly products like laminate floors due to their sustainable green properties.Think about it people. For our future generations to come.

Anybody has more feedback with regards to this vinyl product?

JL concepts, hmm it's a little bit confusing hearing the good & bad reviews in other segments of this forum. Can we know the floor brand name being installed? Will like to out more details and reviews about the floor product being use before decision making.Am not worried about the workmanship/service issue as norm we consumers will hold at least 50% of payment till works are completed

Quick-step Laminate Flooring
battleangel replied to khengjoo's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
What weird names, doesn't sound like floor companies. The only one that rings a bell is Kronotex. If consumers immediate concern is termites, homogenous tiles is the all in stuff. Why waste $$$ on something unknown.Less you are born rich. -
Lol,I believe now in this era n age, consumers are much more intellectual and resourceful. They will know @ heart how to categorize floor types,a.k.a., in categories:-a) Tiles b) Vinyls c) Wood. Thanks to the education system locally/internationally.One click of the mouse,lo n behold, all information is on hand. But,for me i'll just go for the tried and tested. Can't imagine a composite or whatever it is called floor in my house. Can't take risks for experiment.Less,hv endless supplies of $$$,

Did a research on this Inovar, will have to agree that it is a reasonable flooring brand. However, having run through the www.eplf.com web portal,i found those floor decors in the European floor brands are more to my liking. The designs are more upmarket and relative to the modernise trendy world.Food for thought.
-
No wonder can't be found, did a search on the more popular search engine, google & found a few well-heard of brands such as Kronotex,Krono O Asia,Evorich(waterproof laminate floors),Pergo,Vohringer & Oriqin floors.Am picking a neutral view on all this floor brands,One that suits my color requirements and needs. Not interested in floor/interior salesppl hawking away their wares in this forum.

Is it not vinyl, the floor materials being used in hospitals or shopping outlets? If it is,maybe the designers proposing it can't be wrong in terms of judgement of the product durability.Having said that though,on 2nd thought,i wouldn't want my home sweet home to look like a hospital. To each his own,i guess.

Re-varnish Teak Parquet Floor
battleangel replied to alex168lim's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
Question to ask,how does the process goes for revarnishing/re-sanding down of solid wood flooring in a stay in home condition, especially bedrroms when it's fully occupied with furnitures, etcs.Do we have to move out?How dusty will it be? And how long does the coating take to dry?How long does it take before we can step on it?Regarding indentations and shrinkage,is there any way to solve it?Curious to know.Hope the professionals in this field can help to provide more information and enlighten us.Thanks in advance. -
Laminated floorings is an in-expensive floor covering, that cut down on the cost of hacking. There are many various brands out in the market being proposed by interior designer firms. It,will likely have a diversifation of different qualities in terms of the many various brands.Google is a fantastic way to find out the standing of the laminate brand, instead of relying on the lip services of many a saleppl. It saves the trouble of getting into buying the wrong floor n living to regret it throughout your staying in period in our home sweet home.

Hdb New Flat Screeding

It is all $$$ matters in the local context.I think giving the contractors doing the cement screeding some extra $$$ will alleviate problems and ensure a smooth work process,to save all the headaches. -

Sounds pretty scary. There seems to be quite a far share of complaints here about them. Was passing by their showroom the other day and saw a plague for Sucessful entrepreneur award @ the shop front.Am a bit sceptical now about getting their services now.No confidence. -
Wood always give a cozy, warm feeling to any house settings.Condominium showfalts is a very clear example of this current trend. The choices made is normally between laminated floorings or timber floors. Both have their own clear advantages and like every product,it has it's pro n cons.No floor product is perfect. At the end of the day,i guess it's all about maintenance.I believe everyone will agree on this.Am I right or wrong?
