Actually it is not completely the agents' fault. Last night they waited for the owner very long at his house void deck. From 8.30pm to 9.30pm... the owner ( both husband and wife) no show. Not home and off the hp. Owner had agree to sign the letter and even confirm with them meeting them last nite. Hiaz... Dunno y, my hubby already expected this to happen. Hubby did not get angry with the agents cos they make the effort to go down... now the owners are the party who played punk. We did sms the agents and apologize to them for wasting their time waiting for that old man and wife...we feel bad too. Now 2nd inspection, the owner arrange on thursday 8.30pm again... if we go there... they no show then how? Faintz!!

Hi Bunbun, Dun mind at all, actually me wish to hear more comments. Initially I tout GST can be waived, so I ask them if it is possible. If they say cannot then never mind la. My hubby din know that I ask for GST waiver and when he found out he give me a "dress down" on this matter. He says GST is govt compulsory tax thing so we must pay. For the top up of 1k on top of the COV, we did not force them to do it. Owner insisted on 43K cov but we only can afford 42K cov... so we ask them to nego for us. If cannot, then we will drop this unit. Then they come back with this offer between the owner and themselves and close the deal... I mean who will say "NO" right? We love this unit very much. Indeed, the owner ( hubby and wife ) very stuck up. My hubby says if not he loves this unit so muc, he will not buy from them. The hubby like ai mai ai mai pattern and the wife is very "fake", always put up with fake smile and always ask a lot of "privacy" questions. Okay, last night my agents the owner agent waited for the owner at their house void deck from 8.30pm to 9.30pm. The owner had actually make an appt with them to meet them at 8.30pm to sign the reno indemnity letter. But who knows, the owner not home ( both of them ) and off their hp at the same time. My hubby already cheng sim... ask the agents dun waste time waiting anymore, jus go back and rest... From this incident, can clearly see that the owners are playing punk~! HIaz... I wonder how will the 2nd inspection goes... if we go there on thursday and owner not home.. then how?

No la... hubby dun want to bother them anymore. Anyway, 27 June completion thats it. Maybe is not the couple fault... it is the colleague and agent business. We dunno the actual fact of the story too. That time we offer them 42K cov, but seller says wanted 43K... so the couple and the agent says they will top up the balance. We did not force them to it... just want them to negotiate if they can close the case. Thats y in the end, my hubby says dun ask for waiver of GST anymore... since they top up the 1k. We dunno y they scared of the owner... maybe old couples... tend to be naggy? we also dun want to blow this matter big. Whatever we can help we just help to save the trouble for them. Aiyo! u msg them liao arh... hubby and I just dealt with them earlier... they promise to get things settle by today. We even told them dun want to go for 2nd inspection if... the owner timing is not flexible. Go and view also cannot do anything liao cos hubby that day for 2nd inspectiongot business call at 9pm and owner fixing at 8.30pm. We told the couple, if cannot earlier, then nvm, dun insepct anymore... we just go sign completion next day cos we tearing down everything. Eversince we complete 1st appt, we are dealing with his colleagues instead of the couple. Nvr see them ard liao... Abt the owner, we feel that the man is on the quiet side but they are quite "niao" type...change their words like roti prata too.. Happy to buy the house... but guess every transaction got hiccups!

Woman, u go check my blog... i very furious... HIaz... I think we are the unlucky party!!!

Dunno is it we unlucky or what... My hubby actually call the agent to arrange for the owner to sign a house reno indemnity form on Saturday for us because we wanna start reno on 1st July and the contractor wanted to apply the HDB reno permit before hand. No. 1 : Agent asked us if we can call and liaise with the owner directly instead because he says he scared to deal with the owner. Ask many many questions... Fine, we do them a favour, liaise with the owner ourselves. No.2 : Hubby spoke to the owner, owner says can ask the agent come up to their place on Saturday to sign the form. We informed the agent and they says okay. But the agent called us on Saturday evening, told us the owner no time to sign the form, will do it on Sunday afternoon... My hubby and I a bit piss already... fine fine. We let it be Sunday. No.3 : Agent call us on Sunday noon, tell us owner told them today cannot sign in afternoon, can only sign at night at 10 plus 11pm. Agent asked us okay or not! Hubby furious, how come drag and drag... sign at 10 plus at night and pass to us at 11plus... we no need to sleep arh! We are wondering, how come all agents after collecting commission liao, no follow up work one. Even our final inspection, they also never arrange properly for us at all. Thursday final inspection, until now timing not fix... then ask them do things.. keep pushing back to us. Dun even bother us anymore... zzzzz Really feel like whacking them. 1st July still dong tu... but reno cannot start until the permit approve. Hiaz... Who is playing punk now? The owner or the agent? TOld hubby dun ask favour from others... we sign the form after completion ourselves...

Whahahaha Welcome your spam and comments!! Yah, you are right manz! The owner is a FS believer.. But to us the arc machiam very funny... dim down the whole place Wah, ur house also audited by FS? Our doors all also curve and round edge one... hubby dun want to change because he says no budget for the door and frame liao. How come so many diff colour? I wanna pop by but my hubby wanna restz... he says yesterday whole day out buying furniture and tired of driving... URGH!! Lazy lazy bah! When ur place almost ready., can we drop by to see? Heehe!! Okay la we like the grey combination but for the wall, seems hard to have a few tone for grey unless do colour mixing. Our lightings for the toilet will be white light and we got a MILK CAN Light fixture for it. Hahahaha!!

Skywolf, thanks for your pm... Got it liao! Today I went to AMK to shop for all my furniture. This furniture shop though is those neighbourhood area one... but we manage to get what we want there and it is really worth the price. Paid $3.5K for a 2.8m leather sofa with stool set, Nyatoh solid wood dining set with 6 chairs, 1.5m long tv console, a sofa corner round solid wood telephone table, one Queen Size Perfecta Pleasure2 mattress, 2 Pegasus hard foam mattress. The shop owner also throw in some other things and freebies for us. Btw, the quality is very solid. My fussy hubby and I are very very satisfied.

These are some of the tilings that we had selected at Lian Sin Heng. Living, Dining and Storeroom homogenous Matted tiles ( 600 X 600 ) Kitchen Wall and Flooring Tiles Toilet Wall and Flooring Tiles
-
Just trying to update some of the things for my renovation... Maybe we are too kiasu. Most of the things we had already buy and now just awaiting the moment to "hack and pull down" the whole existing deco. We got our tiles from Lian Sin Heng Co. (at balestier rd , jln dusun). Hubby chose homogenous matt light colour tiles 600mm X 600mm for our living, dining and storeroom. For kitchen and kitchen flooring tiles, we had whitish grey tiles on the wall and grey tone homogenous tiles for the floor When come to the tilings for the 2 toilets.. I dunno if we make the right choice... We had those grey mixing white running tone effect tiles for the wall and flooring dark grey! My in laws commented that the toilet seems very dark... My hubby thinks that his parents are bias against the colour because they love WHITE!! For sure, we know that white is hard to maintain. For our 3 bedrooms and study, we are laying parquet wood. Many people told us that burma parquet are better as compared to indonesia parquet. Reason being : Burma wood is old wood , last longer. Indo wood is young wood, after sometimes, will contract and shrink and all the parquet will be falling out... Burmese parquet cost slightly more than indo but of course, I guess everyone will rather go for the better quality one to save the hassle in future. Now both of us are pondering if we should have get the Fengshui master to view the house initially... All the colour combination is given by her. For the bedrooms wall, no other colour then light grey and light blue. For the study room and living/dining area, Rose white or light pink and light purple series... FAINTZ.. Dunno if the colour turn out to be nice or not... having a lots of doubts Our toilet bowls (caroma), toilet basin shower accessories, mixer and kitchen are from Sim Siang Choon. Damage over there is $1800. For those other small accessories item like mirror, towel holder etc, we will be getting from IKEA. The arc at the beam of the living and dining area, will be remove cos it looks ugly and thought without it, the entire space will look much bigger and brighter. We are now awaiting for the kitchen cabinets, shoes cabinet, tv console, study table, wardrobes, partition shelving designs from our carpenter. But when come to the selection of type of laminates... really kind of frustrating... every thing look nice but how well does it goes with our wall and flooring... Really feel like banging our heads at time...

Hi there Mrlamkh Congrates! what a coincidence, we have the same surname! Hahahaha!!! Eh... initially we also dunno where to start until we sit down and discuss what we want. Since we have 3 young kids... so we cannot have any fanciful designs or theme. Before we have kids, we will like to have those laid back country style decor. So we decided to head for contractor instead of ID... (some IDs quotes are ridiculous). Most of our carpentry furniture will be custom make subject to quotation of course... if it is too ex, we will go for off the shelves things. Hope this help.

We had been searching for our very own house since the last balloting exercise conducted by HDB in Aug 2007. Every weekend, without fail, we will have to go round and view quite a few no. of flats. My hubby is quite a fussy person but he thinks that this is a life time investment and we are going to be in debt with a "6 digits" figures amount, we got to take our time to look for one that we really like. Many agents had work with us but guess non work out until my online pal from Singaporebride forum recommended me her agent. In 2 mths time, we got the unit we want. A 5 room resale flat in Tampines Avenue 3! Indeed it was "good friday"! Hahah! We got it on the "GOOD FRIDAY" and next day we sign the OTP. I will say that this unit... "love at first sight" for my hubby. He loves the layout and the area. Amenities within 5 to 10 mins walk, there is greenery, windy, corner, high floor and sense of privacy. Best deal, since we do not have a car, he will just need to take a bus to work and the trip is around 15 mins to his office. Valuation for this house is 335K and COV, we pay 42K... ( i think it is a bit steep but what to do, my Mr loves it ) Our 1st appointment with HDB is on the 2nd May 2008 and to us that day did not went well. The seller suddenly requested us to give them an extension of 2 more weeks which means, we cannot do the completion on the 13 June 08 but 27 June 08. Hubby thinks that they had a valid reason so we just give in to avoid any further disputes. sad.gif I was quite reluctant actually... dunno.gif But what to do, if we dun give in, the poor folks got no place to move. After viewing the house for then 3rd time on 26 April 2008, we then realized that we need to overhaul the whole place even though it is a move in condition flat. My hubby says since the owner had been staying here for 19 yrs and we are going to stay here for long, we will need to overhaul the whole place. To me, it is a major renovation work. All existing tilings had to be hacked away and replace with homogenous tilings for living, dining and storeroom. Parquets ( burma ) for 3 bedrooms and 1 study. Overhaul the kitchen and 2 toilets ( changing of tilings , waterproofing etc ). Electrical rewiring and re run water piping. Plastering whole house cos currently they painted the wall with rock tone which we feels hard to maintain sicne we have 3 young kids. Replace the false ceiling and L box... Levelling of the balcony for an extension of the balcony, carpentry works etc. Some hacking to be done on the kitchen wall and shifting of toilet doors. Recieved some quotes... all coming ard 40K to 43K.

HI Skywolf, wah... did not know that HH parquet is so jialat... VOMIT BLOOD I also very angry with my contractor. U know his paint work quote me 2k whereas if I get direct from Nippon or ICI paint, it is ard 1.3k to 1.4k! That day he come and discuss with my hubby... I sat there and ask him, " Uncle ur paint work use what paint? How come so much more ex than outside? " He says oh this is rough quote blah blah blah... in the end... I ask my hubby since we paid deposit base on his "ROUGH QUOTE", throw some more items in. We requested him to add in 3 more wardrobes in all the other bedrooms and study table ... all custom make. Before he left the house, i told him I wanna a break down quote after reno done... then I will pay the balance.

Hi Skywolf, Any nice nice pictures to see???? Hehehehe! Yesterday I finish my shopping for lightings. Bought all the lights fixtures at Shen Lightings. So far, their prices are the cheapest. Lady boss also very nice... NO GST! WOAH! But the damage is sob sob $1100 there.
-
Hi skywolf, Is it the A/C installer fault? Maybe if it is their fault, can revert back to Gain City? Skywolf, btw, I had done some shopping last saturday... Too tedious for me to move ard. Damage at Sim Siang Choon is ard 1.9K. Then we also selected our tilings... Basically, the main colour for the house is machiam like contemporary colour - Grey.
-
Fwah Skywolf, Seems that your house almost done up already! Must be excited right? My place can only start reno on 1 July 2008. Geomancer already seen the place and we already got our measurement. This saturday going to shop for lightings, tiles, stainless steel stuff, toilet bowls and accessories.
-
No choice, the owner bought a house from another agent and the agent screw things up. If we dun allow them to extend, they also got no place to move to... Hubby says let it be 8 weeks completion bah. Hubby says go Ikea window shop and get some ideas... Think some of the things he wanna get from Ikea like the drawers separators etc. Yesterday he is taking down the measurements everythiing. Going to discuss with the contractor this saturday. Oh, decide not to stick with Ho bee cos after we calculate, quite expensive... all the optional items in coming ard 40K also. So decided to go back to my SIL's bf father. He is keen in taking the job and he is throwing in free false ceiling and L box for us. We will be hacking about 2 feet of the kitchen away to create more space for the living *( if not the sofa and dining table cannot accomodate in the same area ) Our shopping will start from 24 May, starting with the tilings and sink tiles etc. Small items will buy first and dump into SIL's bedroom cos she is away now. Btw, we decided not to use induction cooking hood in case... my kids' hand itchy go and touch it... and BURN!

Wah skywolf, you power le... one day can do so many things. Sad to tell you I cannot join in the fun so soon... My 2nd appt had been delay because the owner wanted extension of 2 more weeks. Hiaz... Instead of getting keys on the 13 June, will be getting on the 27 June only... Think can only start work in 1 July. Hubby was telling me maybe we go "shopping" for the material first and furniture in July... Sad. Dunno by then I "fit" enough to go so many places or not. Btw, where to get good kitchen cabinet ideas?

Skywolf, pardon my ignorance, what is protective cardboard?
