bsg i think i know what u mean. Money keeps draining out ya? Maybe I can share my experience. hehe, cause I also got a lot of issues! But I believe, for a home... will be ok one.. I paid low cov, low floor cause just married - not enuf $$ and did not manage to ballot BTOs after few tries. (Angry with H--) And I hate low floors! Till now, I still dread thinking of movin into low floor. But, let's see how it is after shifting in lo. Then, shortly after buying house, problems arises. Thank God, it is not serious but we will have to bear with it for years. We also did not renovate immediately. Waited close to a year later, now then start. Apply for loan, my loan was rejected. I almost fainted/ died of heart failure. now is managed to find help for my loan... =) By the way, i didn't renovate my bedroom floors cause to save $$. BSG, don't worry too much... think of when u renovate, your house is gonna look awesome!

Bengologist! great to hear that! it's awesome la!! Like that i can confirm buy the bedframe from them. saw one that i like. sofa not sure tho, scare not comfy but we also saw one or two we like. They have this offer going at 399 for sofa, coffee table and rug. I'm tempted. LOL! Let's see what I'll get.

i also have this experience where agents told me my budget cannot get me a flat. and of course i compromised, got a low floor and my agent said he had checked through with neighbours and all- no issues. In the end, of course got issue. sometimes i wonder i should have gotten another area, more by 5k but floor area bigger and high floor too. same prob but i got high floor! Headache to max, now is heck care. buyer's remorse is only for own to digest. anyway, Hope your reno is not so bad! eventually is still a home to stay in.. =)

Reading through this book and it says "Often, even if the first selection turns out to be the best selection, the more thorough we are in the investigate stage, the less buyer's remorse we are likely to experience down the road." That's y I like to drill, think and find out so much! I hate the buyer's remorse! haha. What's occupying my mind now - grout lines, console design, altar color, wall paper, toilet tiles layout (if it's gonna be nice)....

Help! Understand most people have their wall tiles aligned to floor tiles. i.e groutings are aligned. Anyone have issues of water pooling in kitchen or toilets etc? It is supposed to be nicer and better workmanship. But was told it will cause water pooling!

Dad went up to help check on the progress yesterday and spoke to the tiler. Dad wanted him to do the tiles aligned. i.e, wall tiles and floor tiles aligned. Tiler says need to add money and will ask the ID. Minutes later, ID called to say that they usually do not align but he can do it if we want to. However, the groutings will not be the same. Which means, some groutings might be thicker or thinner. Kept my eyes opened on what it really means and realised - a lot areas are aligned outside. even for my office toilet. Image of my office toilet, this is what it means by aligning the tiles and groutings. Chinese is call xian dui xian. Not sure if I'm the only one who just got to know about this. After discussion with hub. think that we should keep it aligned. Shall update ID and see what he says. Dad says that it shouldn't cost more, because all tiler needs to do is to use a laser and ensure it is aligned. Thank god dad knows such stuff, really. Oh, and about the toilet pipings. still not sure if i should change to copper pipes. extra $$ again. Haiz. Stainless steel rusts, if you all are not aware. shall think through this as well........

Hello Bengologist! haha.. Ya lo, i'm so gonna bug my id leh... LOL! the kitchen one is ok, the altar is ok.. but not for living and toilet.. and I have not gotten the 3d drawings for my wardrobes too. .... tonight will confirm on the kind of console we want, and toilet too. then ask for revised 3d for these two. the cabinets like a little wrong for kitchen too.. shall go check out blum webby to see, remember below stove should have pull out drawers or what? hahaha..

my excitement has sorta died down! More things to ponder over... i also have my 3d drawings. but... just for plain reference i guess.. I'm not having feature wall!! My quartz top is also white!! and my glass panels are clear glass!! ok I'm ranting already. ahahhahaha. The work for toilet looks horrendous. LOL. I'm not getting this kind of tiles but ok la, I admit. Tiles doesnt matter. I just need to confirm that the vanity is ok.. Will be changing the color of vanity tho..

also, the are of hacked wall.. Roy says he will put a thin metal piece in between. *shrugs* should look ok i guess

anyway missed out few things, we discussed on glass panels for our kitchen as well. My original idea way back was to have half glass wall. Cause kitchen is super dark. BUT, kitchen is also super warm! So, idea gone, wall hacked in full. Then I thought of this idea where by I can have two small panels of glass and probably able to have the sliding door somewhere. But, ID pointed out it is not do-able - there is no where to slide the glass into! so ID suggested fixed panel at left side of wall... But, to us that serves no purpose and no difference to the wall that was there earlier. The kitchen will be bright but it will be really warm. Sliding glass doow will slide into the fixed panel... But.. very hot right? haiz. Anyway I drew this myself.LOL. Hubby then suggested if we could have all sliding, that is two sliding doors interlocked, the doors will be kept beside the fridge? Again my own drawing to explain. But this will, when we pull the sliding glass doors out, the black tiles will show. Why so headache huh? Hubby think this is the best option tho. We can keep our kitchen open concept, yet when we want to cook, we can just pull the sliding glass doors.

met roy again to discuss on the tils layout for kitchen and two toilets. Again, his designer say tomorrow for 3d image. Urm, thinking a little too long right! Shall start chasing him tomorrow for my 3d. anyway he drew on the wall to inform the tiler and serve as a reminder to tiler. M'sian uncle call Ong. LOL. SO this is the drawing of common toilet White feature wall for shower area, mosaic tiles will line the side of feature. Black tiles for floor, and doing step down instead of kerb. As for master bedroom, Roy says he wanna do something different from Common bath, so the feature wall tiles will be at the wall where the toilet bowl is... The mosiac tiles will then be where the shower is. I really can't picture if it looks good Fingers crossed..

washing machine this is likely to be on the confirm buy list. Hub not keen to get inverter, says no point since for washing machine you won't switch it on as much as compared to fridge (every day). Thus, you only save like 20-50cents each time you switch it on for laundry yet you are paying $300 more at least at one go. No point. Saw these items at song cho! Well-known for its stainless steel properties... But also really expensive! omg. No idea if i should splurge and get from song-cho or should I just get it from taobao/ royal franco/hoe kee/ heritage bathroom gallery...
