Yeap! haa blackboard for daily messages and to keep visiting kids busy with. haa could be alittle messy with flying chalk dust, thus locate it just beside our shoe cabinets. which might just fit in nicely. alittle tip to share: method to mount the board solved! usage of mass-bond! haa will update once its up! awaiting glass installer to assist with it.

Thanks & Finally! haa here's our DIY chalkboard ! phew* did 5coats and still lotsa paint left lol. now we have a problem, have no clue how are we gona mount this standing on a wall just beside the shoe cabinets. gona do some research first. lol >< stressss A little updates on our kitchen cabinets! yeap no hoob, rather save on it and reduces the hassle of occasional wash/change of the oil filters lol.. its kinda disgusting from what we saw before.. we went like "eeewwww" together! hahaha As kitchen is not exactly completed yet, will actually look into a backsplash before we starts using the stove! kinda leaning on stainless steel backsplash stretching across for the moment, and maybe attach on open shelves above it for utensils storage. will see how it goes along the way! all pms replied, good nights all

Heya all, Great news! Our sofa, tv console and coffeetable are in! We've decided to try to DIY a 2300x800 chalkboard for this update: hehe, was kinda bz sourcing around for the best board material and here's alittle something to share for those interested to DIY. We/ve managed to grab hold of a raw 8ftx4ftx15mm MDF board from 1 of the planks suppliers at North Link Building. From trimming to custom size n deliver to site at 60bucks. As MDF has smooth surface which is considered the better option for painting chalkpaint over. But do take note, do not let water sit on it before the paint, else might experience humps surfacing. Another better option would be hardboard but they do not have the thickness we needed. Dropped by Dempsey hill this noon as well to grab a tub of chalkboard paint (grey with black base). kinda expensive.. 1L at $82.90..but she like it, as worried others does not have the color.. lol.. so no choice.. had to go along..right? haa Our saturday night event would be applying paint to this haha.. with this.. stay tune! have a great weekend guys once again.

Finally clean-up time before the rest of the works get completed. could'nt stands those ashy dust sitting around for another single day, thus had to reside with chemical wash first. will revisit to have more updates along the way nights guys!

Journey Home
WhiteCookie replied to mishmish's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat - Condo Interior Design and Landed Renovation
nice selections! those bricks looks awesome! personally prefer them in a lighter tone, else your furniture might not stands out..having said that, it all voices down on your colors choice tho.. dark furniture = lighter tone walls, and vice versa .. to sooth out the atmosphere alittle, else might experience some kind of overdose impressions. of course, if you pale furnishings, i'd keep the wall as they are..heh looking forward for your updates and have a smooth reno journey ahead!- 337 replies

If it all voice down to the tracks used. Sounds like a worksmanship+material issue that cover unders the so-called 3years warranty. 8mths doesnt seems too faraway either. Sigh i feel you man..Hope the boss can be man enough to keep his customers satisified. -
Yea they had hacked the wall in bits and pieces evenly to create a slight depth for the cement to hold on the tiles firmly. Heard from them the tiles weigh easily 300-400kg to stick on my 7ft wall.. so rather be on the safe side. The grouting works this morning! here's a slight preview: Stuffing white grout, gona leave it as it is, not painting over after he's done. *tip of the day* had to remove the existing skirting when hacking, then replace by tiles. To give it a complete look! will drop by after work to check if its done ! hopefully can surprised my OC heheh

Haa yea maintaining the sofa could be rather troublesome.. but hmm.. anyway could'nt think that much for its looks! haa! we'll see along the way~~ For the craft bricks; Managed to get a pic initially before it was asked to takedown. Could'nt imagine if tiler had them filled up.. phew* Did not want a "yiu xiu" kinda effect lols! After, could noticed the difference significantly. more natural at least to her.. Oh btw my dinning bench! Azumi long bech from Star Living.

Heya beng, one tip i would like to share with you. Try to replace t5 tube for led strips! They will not have any blackout spots inbetween tubes.
-
Here's the next update : Brick walls setup finally As you'all could observed the markings, the tiler had to remove and redo the tiling. reason due to not leaving gap in-between. but stacking on one another instead, which wasnt what i expected. my wifey almost gone crazy, her beloved design almost turn into a disaster.. luckily ID came out with an idea to create a gap for us..phew* A closed up with philips warm downlights, that really help to portray some awesome textures! Our selected dinning chairs!
