Hahaha.. Thanks for the kind compliment Easter! Everything's on track thanks to the constant pressure we gave to the ID. Looking forward to more updates in your renovation journey too!

Hahaha! So glad to see the house done after such a long long renovation journey. I'm not sure if it's worth the wait because I'm pretty certain if my ID had better time management, we wouldn't have to wait so long. Hahaha! Ya, still a lot of cleaning, wiping & washing to be done to totally get rid of those irritating powdery stains. Guess it's time to heavily invest on cleaning products such as Mr Muscle, Magiclean, Vanish, Ajax Fabuloso. Hahaha! Yeah yeah yeah! I love the mosiac wall too! And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the granite cabinet top in the kitchen. It's soooooooooo beautiful! Hahaha, I didn't consider frosted glass door for my bathroom, too sexy le . I scared my parents will have a big shock if I did that. Hahahahaha! As for the glass shelf, it was my idea to place it 1.7m from the ground so that my sister and my mom won't knock against the glass when they are showering. As for my dad and myself, I guess we have no choice , unless we can place it 2m from the ground. Lucky the corner of the glass shelf ain't sharp, otherwise I would have bleed a couple of times during showering cause my head has been constantly colliding with it. Hahahaha!

Haha! Thanks edd! I have moved a lot of old items to the new house but it's just for temporarily usage until I have gotten the time to shop for new ones. Have to slowly slowly replace them, otherwise my folks (especially my mom) will not be able to accept such a drastic change in the house. LOL!

Hmmm.. Okay okay. I will inform my mom about it. We have used vacuum cleaner, broom, mop, cloth etc etc. Anyway do you happen to have any idea about how to clean specks of blurry white spots (caused by these white powder) on taps, sinks, walls, glass shelves etc? I have used tap water to clean them but after a while they will re-surface.

Hi Mr E / Makan sis, I can totally understand your frustration because I faced the similar problem with my ID. However I do understand that your situation is far worse than mine because you have already moved in 3 weeks but the renovation is still outstanding. My ID squeezed all the work in the last week but my mom blasted his ears. We had moved in for a few days but there are still minor rectification which require these couple of days for modification. Anyway if there are still outstanding payment yet to be paid to the contractor, my advice is to withhold them and list out the tasks which you have done on their behalf and deduct the cost from the payment. I wish you good luck and hope the outstanding issues can be resolved as soon as possible. -
Agreed Agreed! The white powdery dust is still lying everywhere despite several cleaning efforts! Anyone has any solution for this?

20th June 2013 Before I begin my story-telling session, I would like to say a BIG 'HELLO' to my sister and her boyfriend who had happened to chance upon this T-blog through his Harvey Norman colleague. I did not bother to hide the fact that I have this blog to capture my renovation progress and I even told my sister about it but she apparently did not pay any attention to what I have said . You two! Don't be a stalker! Better go create a username and say hello to me too! Hahahaha! As for my sister's boyfriend's colleague, hello there too! Okay, greetings, let's start the story-telling session. Once upon a time................................... Hahaha, just kidding! Okay, so the official handover date was 22nd June 2013. In order to avoid the unnecessary delay of the handover due to incomplete work, I fought through the thick haze and went up to my house with my friend in the evening to do a spot-check. Frankly speaking, I'm pretty astonished at their efficiency during the last week of the renovation because they managed to patch the outstanding renovation work together in such a short span of time under unbearable weather condition (the PSI 300 +++ haze in Singapore ). Really wonder why they can't utilise this competency in the earlier stage of the renovation so that they do not need to suffer the agony of working in terrible condition. Well, that's enough talking I will do. A picture speaks a thousand words, so let's check out the photographs taken that evening. 1) The shoe rack in my living hall. My sister will be jumping in joy when she sees this because half of it will be filled with her filthy shoes. Hahahahaha... Just joking! it's speckless clean shoes, not filthy shoes. LOL! 2) The kitchen. Does it resemble the 3D drawing? 3) The new hood firmly installed alongside the kitchen cabinets. 4) THE GRANITE TOP! This is my favourite component of the entire kitchen! 5) My lovely glass sliding wardrobe! Note: There's a human figure in the reflection. Don't be alarmed, that's my friend, not a ghost! Hahahaha...

Hey fellow Punggol Rippler! I'm also staying in Punggol Ripple (just moved in a couple of days ago! ) Hope you have already engaged a good contractor/ID to work on your house. Cheers!

Hahaha! Thanks thanks! My folks are super happy but they pretend pretend to act like it's nothing. LOL! Yeah, there's a lot of stuff to be unpacked and lots of cleaning to be done, just a thought about these work give me an instant headache. Hahaha! Sure sure! I don't mind meeting up for a drink with all the Renotalkers here! Glad to make friends with everyone here. From the bottom of my heart, I wanna thank everyone who has accompanied me through this renovation journey and shared valuable advices. Sincere appreciation. Thank you~~~~~~~! P.S: Don't worry, this is not my last post, I will continue to update it till I have nothing to update. Hahahaha~!

WOW WOW WOW! This is super detailed! Awesome work here!

Hey drunkenchivas! Yeah sure, I hope to post pics later if I have some free time. I bought two 7 piece toilet accessories sets from Heritage Bathroom Gallery. Despite the fact that I had chosen the most expensive set because I had wanted the material to be stainless steel, the prices are still reasonable. You can check them out too!

Hahaha! No problem no problem! Check your inbox.

Hi yagiza, Thanks for the compliment! You need the info for the blinds? No problem! You've got a mail!

Hey yo! Sorry for the late reply, was super duper busy for the past couple of days due to the shifting of house. Hahaha.. The handover (not hangover wor.. ) was according to schedule, on 22nd June but there are still some touch-up work for the house. Shall post some comments and photos later when I have the time.

Ya I agree with Nico! It's AWWWEEEEESSSSSSOOOOOMMMMMMMEEEEEEE! Too bad my renovation is nearing the end, maybe I will D.I.Y. some shelves when I moved into my house.
-
Hahaha! Ya, just like what jus4fun has mentioned, mine is aluminium grilles in silver colour to match to my windows. You can request for white colour ones. Oh btw, you've got mail!

Wah! This is a very difficult question to me, I totally have no answer because I just tell my ID I want the glass partition in my living hall. How they did it, I really have no idea. I highly suspect it's glued on.
-
WOW! Pinncle@Duxton! That's sooooooooo awesome! It must have cost a bomb~! Hahaha! Anyway welcome to Renotalk! Hope Mr K (the popular contractor on RT) will transform your house into an absolute beauty. Looking forward to more updates. Cheers!
-
Haha! Thanks for the compliments! By the way, the haze situation is pretty bad in Singapore right now. You peeps remember to drink more water and stay indoor as much as possible.

Don't worry about it lawrenceke bro! That saga is already over since my ID firm is going to compensate me with a new Hob/Hood. Ya, must keep an eye on the items. The moment he told me the Hob/Hood are lost, I was thinking what else are missing too. I was especially concerned about those Taobao items since they took a lot time to ship over and if they are missing, I will not be able to purchase them within short notice again. You are indeed very lucky to do a spot check that day. I can't imagine how furious you will get if your ID told you the kitchen mixer is gone. To all peeps doing renovation right now: Better be safe than sorry. Be vigilant. Do frequent spot-check on your purchased items.
