  1. From the way how you described his services, I guess you must be beaming that you have made the right selection of ID. Mine's a non-GST registered company, so that's probably the only thing I can be slightly proud of. Haha! Looking forward to the carpentary work. If the company's good, I can recommend it to my sister and her boyfriend when they get their keys either end of this year or early next year. Ha!
  2. Wow! I have mistaken the last few sets of photos as 3D drawings cause they just look fantastic! U-home really did a marvellous job on your house!
  3. I really think this Aaron guy is indeed a responsible ID. Mine don't even send me an sms or call to update on the renovation progress. I have to give him calls to follow up on things, such as revised drawings, carpentry work, signing of additional VOs, next payment etc. I guess I need to ask him to give me half of the renovation fee I paid for the coordination work I have provided him. Hahahahahaha!
  4. Wow! SGD 800 for 2 sofas are a good steal! I got my sofa set from fortytwo.sg (previously known as beds.sg) at $500, pretty good price too. If I have read your T-blog earlier, I might have opted for Taobao too. Lol! OMG! That's soooooo sad, considering that your furniture are brand new. However, like what you say, no choice lah, since she's still a small pup and also your precious little one. Don't be angry with her. Just need to go cover up the rest of your furnitures so that she won't create more disasters at home. Chill chill...
  5. Wow edd, our renovations started around the same time but yours is already wayyyyyy ahead of mine. Guess I gotta talk to the boss of my ID firm and ask him to spank my ID for the slow progress. Hahahaha!! Nice renovation pics there! Continue to update us!
  6. Hahaha.. The fact that we used the same ID firm makes me wonder if the IDs from this firm are particularly not responsive after the contract is signed. LOL! Anyway I guess he's also busy seeking other clients and I'm pretty understandable. I try not to disturb him as much as possible, unless there's really queries or deadlines which I needed to find out from him. I will definitely feedback to him about his lack of updates and the slow progress of renovation. Like what you mention, although the fees I'm paying him is not extravagantly high, it's afterall my hard-earned cash. Ha! Thanks for the advice and support for my reno journey! I will update the progress of my house when I have the time today. Meanwhile, enjoy this cooling weather peeps!
  7. Wow! Really haven't moved in? I saw above that your renovation started a year ago, so I thought you might have been staying in your new place for at least half a year. Haha! It's okay. Hope everything's fine when you shift in. Cheers!
  8. Wah! OMG! Hopefully there's nothing serious. I have minimum renovation for my BTO flat's toilets because I'm also scared of leakages. Lucky for me, I have already made friend with my new neighbours staying below me, so in the event if there's any problem, I guess it's easy to settle too. Hope yours will be resolved with no additional cost.
  9. Welcome to RT! Hope you will be able to find a good ID who can transform your home into the resort themed home which you wanted. Happy searching! Cheers!
  10. Wow! That's really an awesome vintage theme! Can't wait to see the final outlook of your retro apartment! Good work there!
  11. Hey! Welcome back to RT! Hope you're living comfortably in your renovated house. Thanks for sharing your experience with newbies like us! Cheers!
  12. Hi ProjectH, Thanks for the nice compliment! I will continue to update it. Cheers!
  13. No prob! Let me know if you need Andy's contact.
  14. Me too. Once you start the mass purchases, you can't stop. Gotta kick this habit off me for the time being. Haha!
  15. Congrats on you! Hope you will have a blissful marriage! Hmmm, actually you can slow down your shopping spree because the Great Singapore Sales is coming, so I expect more stuff to be on discount or more freebies to be given. Hahaha! Yeah I agree with you, courts customer services are no way near to Gain City and Harvey Norman. However that is subjective to each individual's opinion. In fact I'm pretty okay with paying a premium (not too much) for excellent customer services. Haha!
  16. Wow! You sure got everything settled even before your key collection! You ought to give yourself a pat on your shoulders for the effort! Yes, I also heartache after I purchase my air-con from Gain City. Heard from my friend that Courts is giving free extended warranty for 5 years. I had add the extended warranty cost into my GC air-con price at $400. Sooooo upset about it. Anyway I think you had gotten yourself a good ID, even volunteering himself for the trunking work. My ID basically MIA after I signed on the dotted line. Nowadays I'm only able to give him missed calls and countless of messages asking him stuff before he even bother to reply. Work schedule delayed and no update from him too. I will observe for a couple of weeks before I provide a rating for him. Ha!
  17. Hi HL85! Workmanship and price-wise, both are indeed top-notch. For the price I'm paying, it's definitely worth every single cent in my humble opinion. As for the poor time management, it's down to his punctuality problem, not the installation time frame. I met him thrice for appointment and all three appointments he was late, ranging from 15 mins to 45 mins. However, I can understand it because he's rushing from places to places in his daily hectic schedule. Comparing him with my ID, I think his punctuality issue is still okay. My ID is always late, ranging from 30 mins to 1 hour. *shake my head*
  18. WHAT?! Haha.. Well, I have already purchased it from my "brother-in-law" at very affordable prices, perhaps I shouldn't go check the prices anymore. If it's cheaper on Mega Discount Store, I might suffer heartache. Hahaha! Thanks for the info! Hope others will benefit from this.
  19. Hahaha.. Maybe it's the company happy cause more $$$. For him maybe the $$$ too little for the extra work he put in. LOL!
  20. Hi atiz18, mind pm me the quote Vincent provided you? I need a rough idea of how much it will cost so that I can budget it into my renovation plan. Sincere thanks!
  21. Thanks a lot! I'm not looking for anything fanciful (I have already gotten two fanciful lightings from TB which is more than enough, hahaha.. ), just looking for practical lighting, preferably affordable LED ceiling lights. Yeah, I've done quite a lot of homework. No choice, no pain no gain. Hahaha! For kitchen & bathroom sinks, you might want to drop by Heritage Bathroom Gallery @ Geylang Road. Contrary to some negative remarks on the forum, I find their services pretty good. The saleslady also took some time to explain the functionality of the Blanco sinks before I made the decision on a double-bowl. Take some time to consider, don't rush into buying. Oh! Better monitor the air-con installation well so that it won't end up like mine, with the trunking so ugly in the MBR. All the best to you too! Look forward to new pictures from you!
  22. Welcome to RT! Your floorplan is pretty much like mine. Anyway hope you will collect your keys soon and start your renovation! Have fun!
  23. Hi RnJ and swaskie, Thanks for the advices! I love animals very much but my mom is always the one who forbids another creature into our home. My sister is a hardcore supporter of her as she's scared of dogs, cats, rats, rabbits, fishes, frogs, lizards, cockroaches and any other moving creatures you can name. Hahaha.. I will find out more about dogs after I shift into my new house and consider the responsibility of becoming a dog-owner before jumping into it.
  24. Haha.. My lights have arrived in Singapore yesterday! But I'm pretty lazy to go down to collect, so I have requested them to deliver to my Punggol house this Saturday. Shall pose some pictures of them over the weekend. I'm pretty upset that I did not purchase the bedroom lights from Taobao too (It's kinda too late to buy them now). Most of the lighting shops in Singapore do not sell LED bedroom lights and those that are sells are pricing it at a high premium. I'm not installing ceiling fan in bedrooms, so I have to roam the streets of Jalan Besar, Balestier, Geylang etc to find suitable energy saving ceiling lights again. Anyway looking forward to more pictures from you too! Hope your renovation will be smooth too! Cheers!
  25. Hi nomz! My kitchen tile? You mean those small little mosaic tiles on the kitchen wall in my 3D drawings? The tiles in the 3D drawing is not exactly similar to the original ones. The actual ones are better-looking. The 3D artist is unable to replicate similar designs, so she uses something similar but the colour are totally incorrect. But I did not ask her to make any changes so that when my kitchen is done, I can compare it with the 3D drawings and tell myself "WOW! I have a much beautiful kitchen than the actual drawing! Hahahahaha! " Hey! Sincere appreciation for your kind words. I am really delighted that you have enjoyed reading my T-blog. Thanks for the support! I guess I'm still far from becoming an author, I'm better with digits I supposed. Hahaha.. Anyway thanks for reading! Hope you're having a splendid day just like me! Cheers!
