actually ceramic tiles and homo tiles almost the same cost. but there are also ceramic tiles that are more ex than homo. all depends on the design and country of origin. vinyl flooring will be cheaper, however, it is unfair to guage this way if u are using expensive vinyl tiles vs cheap ceramic tiles.

ur house is around 1000 sq feet (approx). if u are talking about new BTO flat, therefore no hacking is required. so for that, it is roughly 7k+. then plus haulage of a few hundred, total should be around 8k +/- $500

it depends on which area. some new estate like sembawang, the haulage is done by HDB contractors. others will be done directly by the company that is renovating your house.

if more than 10 years, its is quite advisable to hack and lay new tiles as u cannot ensure that the water proofing is as good as 10 years ago. you dont want to lay nice nice tiles, then water proofing break, u have to rehack all the tiles and redo, right?

of course you can!! u can remove the bowl, the sink and everything. but the piping cannot. because it is connected to your neighbours upstairs and downstairs of u (if u are talking about the sewage piping)

hi david, it depends on the length that u are removing. also are u doing other works? if no, hackers will charge a bit higher (think economies of scale) secondly, change the wall? u mean hack the wall and install glass partition?

depends on the HDB officer. but average is around 1 to 1.5 weeks on the day the contractor submit the HDB application that has the PE endorsement. however, there are cases where the application can be expedited. one instance is the house owners call HDB officer and demand it to be speed up.

Actually, it doesn't matter. cos when the HDB reject the hacking due to PE requirement, then u just go and engage a PE and reapply. if HDB doesn't require PE, then you don't need 1, thus saving the PE cost lor. summary: the PE is really not a huge matter

depends on the age of your building and also depends on the previous worker on how they do up the tiles. knock on ur wall tiles. do they sound hollow? if yes, please hack the walls. we don't want u shower halfway and the tiles all come crashing down. cost wise, over lay will do away the hacking cost. other than that, it should be almost the same cost.

yes, flooring is expensive. can recommend u lower price ones. wood skirting---what? wood skirting needs $1,500??? u sure or not??? vinyl floor tiles -- yes, its a bit overpriced.. what is the brand? featurewall-- slightly higher, u can maybe shave off $100-$150 solid surface-- i find it quite reasonable, only if u are getting the 'shiny/glossy' type, as they tends to be more expensive. glasswork--slightly higher, can shave a bit off these are all my suggestions.

To hack service yard, you need to engage PE. once PE endorses, you have to find a licensed HDB contractor to hack the wall. sometimes, HDB personnel will come up and take photos.
