Hey eddo. Sadly I can only go through peeka and not direct to tb seller. Peeka sent a query to them but I haven't heard any updates. I did decide to mount the rain shower anyway since the rest of it was in good condition ie no rust/corrosion. The part that was rusty was only this knob to raise/lower the shower head. After installation the water pressure for rain shower is really good. A sigh of relief.

Yeah it's good enough for me. Others have posted quite extreme experiments where the red wine and whatnot is left for a day. Definitely worth getting the samples from them to do your own testing. There may be ingredients that you use commonly but not tested routinely. Like Vanessa tried with turmeric and kompactop did not pass the test.

I didn't do much testing with the material as I am a light cook The sales guy didn't say there was any specific items which cause staining I tried with black sauce and red wine - soaked in it for an hour - could clean off easily without any stains

Hi sleepybeauty, I will add my 2 cents about LED lights From economic perspective, the main attractive point about LED lights is that they consume a lot less electricity in order to produce the same amount of light. Also therefore do not generate as much heat. However, they cost significantly more and from this perspective, I think it takes like 4-5 years to recoup your ROI. You can google around for some estimates. I guess it's highly dependent on how often they are left running as well.

Have more or less decided on getting a plasma TV. Panasonic ST60. Excellent picture - only matched by Sony W904A and Samsung F8000. And the best part, the price point is fantastic! I noticed a lot of people not into plasma. Anyone else got this tv here, can to share reviews?

Hi tikiman, I'm not sure if your doors are nyatoh or veneer. But my contractor told me that painters who do walls only are not skilled to do painting/varnishing for doors. He got me a separate sub-con to do my doors. Used Nippon's timberlac to make it black. I watched the sub-con do it - takes a very small fine brush and have to do like many many layers. He waited for each layer to dry and wait for the wood to absorb the timberlac then applied another coat. He took a full day to do one side of my main door and two sides of my storeroom store. Gd luck!

Hi our-home, thanks for the heads up. I'll look out for this specifically tomorrow since most of my carpentry is floor to ceiling!

Hi kanas, I guess in your situation, it's reasonable to pay for removal of existing skirting. New skirting is usually included in the price though. Unless you asked for a special skirting and your quoted price is lower than $6 psf About the kitchen sink - I haven't started using it for washing etc. But from what I can feel/see/knock, it's very sturdy and solid. 1.2mm thickness makes all the difference. Note that this is the most critical point about stainless steel sinks. If it's less than 1.2mm, it will not have as sturdy a feel, and it can easily expand/contract upon contact with hot water/soup you pour into the sink, which creates a "thud" sound. Even a lot of franke sinks that retail at 700+ bucks are 1mm only.

Do it! The wood grains are very realistic and the price is not that different from granite. The few things you gotta watch out for 1. Can't chop/cut stuff on kompactop, absolutely must use chopping board. 2. Can't place your hot pots/pans directly on the surface. 3. No bleach.

Thanks renotalk community for expressing concern over my laminate/carpentry issues. I'm happy to report that everything was rectified to my satisfaction! Kitchen area which they used black silicone to seal the minor gap between laminate joints MBR wardrobe I'm most impressed with the MBR wardrobe where they used paint from spray can and a brush used for Chinese calligraphy. The paint colour is extremely similar to my laminate and really hides it very well. All the permanent black marker marks were removed first. And for all the internal black PVC for cabinets, they used this black paint marker. Picture here for future reference. I'm here can be easily purchased at DIY shops.

Hi kanas, My quotation was based on installation only, does not include any removal of skirting so I would say they are consistent. Also although my quote did cater for additional flooring and I paid deposit for 500 sq ft, they only charge me for 430+ sq ft ie it was less. I believe this will happen for u. Not to worry!

for Evorich's HERF - the price quoted includes materials for installation including skirting if i'm not mistaken, they did not charge me for the whole 500 sq ft which was quoted for, only the amount of sq ft which was laid with HERF which turned out to be about 430+ sq ft.

Thanks projecth! Does anyone have experience to share regarding changing out some parts of laminates? Wondering how difficult it is for carpenter to do cos I was thinking to request that but they will put up a lot of resistance.

Hi gryffindor, It's kompactop, definitely not real wood. One of the few surfaces that can give a wooden texture for surfaces. I'm happy that it looks like real wood heh.

Hi janyen My advice is to buy stuff which are simple in design and fairly straightforward to manufacture. I would avoid items like sofas/bed frames. These are things which you need to look and feel. Where stuff like lamps, bulbs, chairs, simple tables e.g. study/dining - I think these are worthwhile risk edited to add: the basic principle is the simpler the design of the item, the less risky the purchase from taobao thats why apparel like t-shirts, shorts, socks are popular and easy to buy. Not all lamps are the same - certain lamps with a lot of moving joints e.g. certin artemide replicas, may have a tendency to be more flimsy and the joints may give way

Hi macuser, I am referring to the joints between the laminates. This is not due to the uneven-ness of wall or flooring. There is inherent limitation of the joints between laminates but I think in this case it is too wide in certain areas of the same plywood. This leads me to believe that the laminate is not applied evenly that's why only certain areas, the laminate joints are widely space apart. They tried to "rectify" this by using a permanent marker to colour it black. To the extent that there are black markets applied onto the laminate itself. This is quite unacceptable. There is another rectification they are recommending but I want to see for myself on Saturday before I decide to go ahead. Clearly their workmanship is quite shoddy I'm afraid. Yes ABS trimming is only for the doors. It's to prevent water from seeping into the laminates. Primarily for kitchen carpentry where it is most prone to getting wet i.e higher risk of wood rotting
