Hi Eddo, My track is 1.5m with 3 LED tracklights, 7W each. My ceiling height is 2.9m. They come in 3W, 5W, 7W, 12W and even 18W. Yes, LED bulbs are included. The main concern is the driver. If driver dies, then need to replace the whole thing. From taobao it's quite cheap, paid about 45 bucks total for 3 track lights. Electrician installed with no problems - nothing special mentioned by him. Some renotalkers have posted that they bought too high watt or too many track lights so becomes too bright/glaring Since I do not rely on it primarily for lighting, i opted for 7W.

Hi darjoe, Thanks! I hope my blog will be an inspiration for other industrial interiors so I can adopt some of them too heh I was tempted to purchase switches and wall sockets from taobao too. However some renotalkers have posted some difficulties. The electrician dunno how to install! Also for wall plugs, I couldn't find those that are compatible to our usual pins in Singapore. So I abandoned that idea. Anyway switches and wall plugs the savings not that much. For voltage, I specifically looked for only the 220v ones which are compatible with Singapore. I think 250v is not compatible but I may be wrong. Most of my taobao purchases I have posted the links. My recommendation is to get from sellers that are from tmall or those with at least one crown rating. However as u can see from my rain shower purchase, even one crown is not totally risk free.

Hello! Are you able to share the sweet deal of under 1k playbar?
-
This is the corroded portion of the rainshower. As you can see, the screw and the hole were not chrome plated and thus corroded by moisture. I am concerned that the rest of the rainshower will face the same issue. Hopefully it is just limited to this area. Anyway have contacted peeka and see what the taobao seller response is. For taobao purchases involving faucets and showers, maybe should go for higher rating sellers. 1 crown doesnt seem enough

Sonos! I want one......

Oh yes before I forget, I found some minor corrosion/rust in the rain shower that I bought Fortunately it's in the area which is not so crucial and the manufacturer obviously didn't use quality material for that part. I will post some pics later. Shall feedback to peeka and hopefully they will complain to the seller.

Hi Eddo, here's a pic of the tracklights in action. I'm pretty sure you can replace them with Singapore ones. The other option is just to buy them from taobao and ship them via express. They aren't very big and quite light so freight cost is low. Hi sleepybeauty, This is a good question. I am using peeka as there has been a lot of positive feedback from renotalkers. I don't think they are that bulky as compared to e.g. TV console. In fact I bought two chairs which can be stacked but cannot be flat packed. In fact, peeka managed to pack more smaller boxes into the box with two chairs in it. Overall, I didn't even hit 1 cubic metre volume of purchases which I was very surprised. I think one of the big plus about peeka is that they will confirm with the seller the price and the China freight charges. Then they ask you whether you want to proceed with the purchase. For instance, some sellers will say the freight/shipping to Peeka China warehouse is RMB 450, which is almost a hundred bucks so peeka will ask whether you are ok with it. I have heard that some agents do not do this e.g. sgshop

Hi mhb, I haven't turned it on for long periods since I'm not living in the apartment yet. A bit sad to hear about the faulty lamp though. I posted my taobao links on page 3 Anyway the link I bought from is http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.120.XXFWWc&id=19182618538 There are quite a few sellers for the same product though so ours might be different. Gd luck!

I have heard from several different people that US facuets are different in terms of the thread size. In fact my contractor just brought it up yesterday when he saw my taobao faucet. Searching through the threads in renotalk yields this http://www.renotalk.com/forum/topic/59385-usa-kitchen-faucet-thread-size-not-correctly/?hl=%2Bkitchen+%2Bfaucet+%2Binstall At least there's an adaptor that can rectify it. But they never say where to buy in Sg.

On a ladder taking the pic therefore couldnt get good focus. Cost includes peeka fees [Above] You can see that for this lamp that part of the cage is not exactly straight. Cage is sturdy though and it came with free edison bulb. Cost about $50 [Above] Matt black metal. I suspect aluminium. Cost about $55 [Above] Matt black dining pendant lamp. Cost about $105. In Singapore retails for at least 300-400. Only thing is that it comes with an piping for the wire so you cannot vary the height of the lamp. [Above] Caged bulb, vintage looking. Can see the "distressing" they did. About $45 each. [Above] Industrial octopus chandelier. Prob cost about $150. Installation a bit tricky because had to decide where to suspend each lighting point from. Hope I made a good decision! Comes with edison bulbs too. Will post more reviews soon. Particularly sinks, faucets and rainshower.

Will get electrician to rectify tomorrow Yellow caged bulb above the door/landing area. Nice contrast around the chalkboard black paint Kitchen area lit up!

Hi Choomacher - thanks! Was initially concerned the flooring would be too dark. But I'm happy I stuck to my gut. Which design/colour did u choose? Btw there're no underlay. Beneath the HERF is my original flooring (marble, parquet and tiles). No anti-termite that I know of. They did tell me that maybe metal trimming might not be able to be used. This Saturday they will assess and make the change. If not it's a dark grey PVC strip.

If I stand at the main door and look into my apartment, the wood grain runs from left to right (which is the option I drew on the left) If you want the grain the run up and down, then choose option on the right You can vary the grains in various rooms/sections of the house. In this case it will be separated by trimming I think

Oh yes speaking of HERF I must write some notes here for the benefit of others who liaise and organize with the Evorich people directly. My main con did not do this function for me. 1. Must have as even a surface as possible - unfortunately I didn't want to spend additional monies to smoothen and even out the floor so there are some areas which are not exactly flat 2. Interface of HERF flooring and floor tracks for folding doors - they apply some sort of glue/adhesive under there. Unfortunately the application of the adhesive was pretty sloppy so resulted in a somewhat bumpy area beside folding door tracks cos too much adhesive in some areas 3. I relied completely on the main con's cleaning crew and the Evorich people to sweep up as much debris as possible before laying the HERF. Unfortunately they didn't do a spectacular job and at one corners, I can feel the debris under tiles with my feet. 4. It is only scratch resistant and not scratch proof. Some carpenters managed to leave a couple of scratches on the floor already. Lol. 5. You can specify the trimming which is the interface between the HERF and other flooring e.g. tiles. Remember to specify which ones you want, if not they anyhow choose (like mine) and have to come back and rectify. I'm changing it to a metal one that you see in commercial places to keep with the industrial theme. 6. The workmanship is not exactly THE best or most meticulous. Both were China chaps and had quite sian looks on their face. Don't have too high expectations I guess 7. Specify the direction of the tile/grain during the site visit. They will use "horizontal" or "vertical" which is meaningless to me so I told them "the wood grain must run from left to right, not up to down" Despite all these small issues, I am satisfied overall. Like a 7.4/10 Lol Hope everyone has a smooth process for HERF installation if they choose it

Small update. Have unboxed all the tb stuff and they look really good. No breakages including bulbs and ceramic sink. Faucets are heavy and feel very sturdy. Stainless steel sink looks good too. No scratches. Lights were all made of a sturdy metal and in matt black. Will post pics once they're installed. Fingers crossed that they function ok.
