Heh I think dark is the new "in" thing. Try looking at dark turquoise colour for walls. It's really quite rich and compliments greys well with an occasional pop of colour

Thanks for the encouraging words! I know my place looks quite dull now since it's mostly shades of grey and black. Can't wait for the decor to come to to brighten up the place soon. TB link for distressed tolix chairs It was either electrolux or F&P for me. Was considering the Electrolux EDV705 but for some reason, I felt that the door was flimsy! Anyway this F&P model has autosensing and reverse tumbling which are my two requirements. God forbid how tangled my clothes get in the dryer otherwise. I really can't stand ironing for sure! edit tb link

Pics of appliances which I purchased Samsung WF8692 Nec - decided not to go for inverter function as the price increase was pretty substantial. Fisher and paykel dryer DE60F60EW1. Decided on it purely on aesthetics. Lol Rinnai cooker hob RB712N (G). 2 flames sufficient for me. A lot of positive reviews for Rinnai flames. I do lots of quick stir fry so need a stronger flame - that excludes most European brands for me. Samsung fridge, RT22. Sufficiently compact in size and in a suitable colour to fit my theme. Hope it's not too noisy. Tolix chair from taobao. "Distressed". My parents saw this and were like "How come damaged so fast??!" Lol The dimensions are identical to the original Tolix design. A lot of cafes are using this now and makes me kinda regret this buy in terms of aesthetics since it's so common. It's really comfortable IMO.

Good point lala81 I think best to buy the model that you like - not dependent on brand And from a reliable seller on taobao. Buy from tmall if not sure if newbie unable to tell which is a reliable seller Might have to pay slightly more but worth it in my opinion

Yeah I'm happy that there is some sort of resolution though I'm upset that the leak was not located. Am very furious at the person who must have accidentally hit the pipe and didn't own up. Also this part of the wall will look different from the rest of the cement plaster..... Gonna have to be creative to hide that spot.

The saga for hunt of the gas pipe leak continues It's quite a nightmare since it was concealed Anyway originally during demolitions, this part of the pipe was hit and welded/repaired. After which - checked and said no more leak After all the false ceiling, aircon, carpentry is installed, now leak discovered again But it's not at this site. Anyway they had to cut through this gas pipe and test for leak on either side And it turns out to be on the left hand side. The leak is HUGE. Fortunately main con proposes a way to lay new gas pipe and keep majority of it concealed - only visible in the yard area and not in the kitchen Phew. But it's additional unanticipated costs which needed to be borne. Main con and I agreed that he will bear those costs that are related to rectifications after the new gas pipe installed. And I pay for the cost of installing the new gas pipe. Hope everything will be swee swee once I return from my trips.

Oh I'm definitely going to now that I see that she bought from this shop! I need lots of advice about kitchen related stuff actually. Not even sure what kind of cutlery to get. WMF seems like the way to go but it's a bit conventional for my liking. Anything a little off the beaten track for these sort of things? Not necessarily tb heh

I see! I bought quite a few of these canvas prints too and a few are unframed if I recall. Can't wait for my next shipment of tb stuff to come in I think I'm quite addicted to tb. Shortlisted other decor things to purchase following the next shipment. lol

Updates! All the appliances and a lot of the furniture is in. Really liking the wood grains on the sofa. Provides a nice contrast with all the greys Bed. Coincidentally, the fabric used for the headboard is pretty much the same as the one used for the sofa. Glad I found this one. Was having a very difficult time finding a suitable one which occupied as little space as possible. And my plasma TV is in! Waiting to be mounted tomorrow. Hee
