    OOooh.. am trying to convince my htb and ID that we dont need a hood. But they've overruled me. I think we're gonna get a Turbo hood.. black.. to match our induction cooker fr Taiyo.

    i love the subway tiles! gorgeous! and the mosiac bathroom.. I really wanted subway tiles and mosiac tiles.. but my ID says he want to do stainless steel backsplash for the kitchen.. also not bad i feel. so okay la. But after seeing your kitchen and bathroom.. i'm drooling.

    Haha.. yeah. I'm glad my htb is very hands on, because without him, I think i wouldn't have any time to blog on renotalk. He really go around Singapore looking for things. I never realised that there were so many things to look for and decide on for when you renovate a place. I thought the hardest part was finding a place we like and buying it. Now I realise... that was only the beginning. To lessen the stress, I think for non essential furniture, I'll just take my time to find. Like my ID say, if can't find the perfect sofa, then sit on the floor first.

    I've got the kinect too! It's alot of fun, especially ping pong. But we hardly play it now. Hopefully when we move to my new place, I'll have more space and use for it. They've got exercise programs too. I bought one but never tried it out. How's your air fryer? I remember your's isn't a phillips one right?

    Oh no! Crying at home! so poor thing.. your heart must be breaking when you hear it. I worried that when i move my dog to my new place, he will not be used to it.

    Went for some retail therapy over the weekend.. to one of my new fav places CB2. Think we may go for this bed. Its not super special.. but then, I guess not everything should be stand out. Htb likes it, so I think this should be it. There was another bed at CB2 that I liked. Didn't get a picture of it. Its wooden framed, with drawers at the side to provide extra storage. And the drawer sides are chalkboards!! Awesome or what?! We need a floor lamp for the living room. Considering this from CB2

    the htb is ill and on mc.. but went down to monitor the aircon guys who're supposed to come over n redo the insulation because they didn't give us the upgraded materials the last time. zzzz.. they are 1 hour late and counting. I'm not sure if I would recomend them. But not going to name and shame yet.. wait till they are finished first.

    I admire you and other forumers who can do wedding and house at same time. The house plus work is already making me super busy. No time to meet friends. I think my wedding, will only start thinking when house is done.

    Thank you! I am looking forward to seeing at least this one room completed soon. But there are defects with some of the tiles which we spotted today. Chips and poorly aligned and badly cut tiles. Sigh. Have told my ID and he says he will have the defects fixed and redone and if not enough tiles he will order more (no mention of who is paying for more tiles, hahaha) but I saw quite a few left over tiles so should be enough. I was kinda worried because I felt my ID or his site manager should have spotted these issues before me, but my ID told me the site manager has been ill this week so now I feel bad. I should have left it and let them settle it, now like I don't trust them. The master bathroom lava stone tiles are giving me a headache. I looked at a few of them today. I had to flip through 5 or 6 in the stack before I found an unblemished one. Worrying. But my ID hasn't said anything so I'm going to cross my fingers and hope for the best.

    Htb acting like contractor, checking aircon pipes (I find it funny because I'm not handling the aircon things at all)

    We are having some problems with aircon installation. It's causing htb a lot of stress. He feels that the aircon people are trying to "yum him" in his own words. We paid for an upgrade in insulation materials, pipes, etc. Luckily my contractor hasn't concealed it yet because when we went to look at it a few days ago most of the pipes were definitely not as thick as they should be. Htb called the aircon office staff and the staff said "it's like that one, some will be thinner materials" , but htb said he has pictures and most are nowhere as thick as it should be. The office staff then called their technicians and called us back to say the technicians will come back to our place to redo. Htb felt that they already knew they did something wrong, if not won't so fast agree to redo. Sigh. He is now very very unhappy because he feels that they are untrustworthy. Hopefully it all turns out alright. Will update once it's done

    Went to a few places today to look for towel/clothes hooks, racks etc. htb doesn't like conventional towel racks because he says he is lazy to hang the towel onto it. :0 Went to Godown today which had cool stuff and slightly scary prices. Will be going back. Checked out my place today since I can finally get in without any workers around and poke around to my heart's content. Common bathroom partially tiled up There is a big fat beam sticking across my ceiling so my ID says he will box it up. Dunno if I should ask him to just cement screed it and don't box up because I really love the high ceilings. But my ID said it would look weird and kinda unfinished to have the funky tiles below and then suddenly a beam and ceiling above the tiled area. Can't decide...

    I tried checking out taobao today, lots of stuff and the prices compare to Singapore shops are like OMG Why So Different!?!? But my Chinese comprehension skills are not so good so I had to ask htb to help me find the right categories before I check things out myself. Shall check out amazon tomorrow. Want to find hooks for towels and clothes. Preferably funky or industrial looking ones. But I keep getting distracted by the other things I see online.

    I actually have a question and not sure where to post. I wanted to ask what people buy from taobao and amazon? Because I shop online for clothes often enough but somehow never dare to buy anything "big" online like sinks etc. I considered buying hansgrohe tap from German website because I have close girlfriends in sq who fly into Germany quite often but I pulled back in the end. What do you guys buy from overseas sites?

    Haha thank you. I hope it's not too bad to maintain, will try to update here after I've lived with it for a while. But that's still a long way away.

    Hmm the cluster of pendant lights in the first picture were taken off a website called Style Hive. But you can find similar lights at L1ghtcraft and quite a few other shops. Just depends on whether they sell in a cluster like that or individually.

    Mybe you can do what i did, since i had a similar problem. Make the kitchen open concept and incorporate a kitchen island in it. Hopefully the island can sit 2 to 4 people. Then you can have a bigger dining table in the balcony?

    Hi... you must've seen the brick wall coming up at my place.. haha. Hmm, we are hiring a part time helper to come in twice a week. Then my htb and I will share the work thats left to do day to day.

    Oh, what brand are you using summersann? Not so much smoke and grease is good.. I like! Tonight I spent looking at hobs and stuff at HN. Have a better idea of what I'm looking for. I think I'll be going for a 2 zone induction cooker. But I don't like those domino hobs.. where the zone is one on top and one below. Feels very imbalanced. I prefer the one left, one right kind.
