  1. Hey, I'm so sorry! Havent come in for a while. I went to Sunset Boulevard in Bali Seminyak.. Things have arrived, all in crates which we haven't opened yet. Shipping was ridiculously expensive, it cost as much as the items!
  2. noooo.. sadly not. But the only good thing is, we're not in a hurry to move in, rather things be perfect than be rushed. Partly the delay is our fault, because we took quite a while to decide some things. hehe..
  3. We need plants for the patio.. so off to World Farm we went. I loved it.. it was like Botanical Gardens, except you could buy the plants! Am gonna get a mish mash of plants, banana, bamboo.. etc.
  4. Before sealant After sealant I love sealant. But still alot of work to be done. I wanted mitre cutting for the edge of the tiles, but because lava stone is quite fragile, the ID changed to bird cage tiling instead for the edges. I dont know whats the difference but it looks seamless enough, so i'm quite pleased.
  5. Master bathroom lava stone tiles have been put up, but there're still tiles I want replaced because of the uneveness. Applying a few coats of sealants does help to make them all more even.
  6. Phew, I've been away for ages... Been so busy with work and stuff. Progress in the house isnt alot, and I doubt its gonna be completed by end of this month. Most things have arrived. My tables and chairs from Bali (shipping was a nightmare), walk in wardrobe poles and all, everything is sitting around. My ID told me carpentry will start either today or wednesdsay. So I'm hopeful things will start moving again. On to happier topics.. My ID came back from his new york trip and bought us small gifts. I dunno where we're gonna put the old lightbulb yet, it apparently still works. Very sweet of our ID to buy our initials and tell us where to put it. LOL
  7. I like the stuff you've bought.... especially the wooden hanger! May I ask where you got it from?
  8. MrMerry - So far I've paid for the furniture and shipping from Bali to Singapore port. Still hafta pay for Singapore port charges and to move from Singapore port to my place (that one i have lobang) Will pm you about the cost! Redder - I think I went to Sunset Road in Seminyak area. There're quite alot of teak and wood furniture shops around there, though some are quite spaced out. But I bought my table and chair from Lio Design, which is next to another interesting recycled teak shop called Magic Fish. That stretch of road has quite abit of furniture shops, including rattan baskets, small decor items, etc. Though I think you need to bargain hard for the things you want. They are open to polite bargaining generally.. but you hafta be firm. Bengologist - Thank you ! I love the nostalgic feel precisely. There was a prettier new teak table there, very smooth and beautiful also, and I was trying to decide between the two, but all my friends with me said the recycled teak one was better.
  9. My old school chairs to match my old school cafeteria feel table. Barstool for kitchen island
  10. Back from a holiday and we bought our dining table and bench and chairs there! Dining table and bench made from recycled teak. Hopefully perfect for the patio
  11. Thank you nomz! Went to check out my place earlier. Nothing going on. Think they aren't gonna continue on my place till my ID gets back.
  12. Benauhc - Think the sofa was listed same price. I'm looking at a photo i took of the sofa price tag, and it says either 2309 or 2300. Not sure if their handwriting is bad or they just increased the price by 9 bucks. And yeah, I'll call before going down to Egg for the stools. We can wait, so hopefully we can get them. Thanks! Bengologist - Yes, am thinking of going to the old school shops to see how much their rattan chairs sell for. Maybe we'll go for that. Greglhc - I'm googling tolix now. Hopefully will have time to go taobao today to check out. But my chinese comprehension not very good.. takes me alot of effort to find anything on Taobao sadly.
  13. Hope your tiles and woodworks all come together nicely. I've been worrying about my own so I can really feel your pain. Good luck!
  14. Agreed. I don't like a showroom kind of feel. Almost feels like no personality.
  15. I am very envious of your Brandt Induction Hob. I saw the same thing at Harvey Norman and really wanted it. But I think the cheapest we could find for it was 1200 plus. Felt it was really too exp, because we know we won't cook often, so we went for the cheaper Taiyo. Still feel my heart abit pain when I think about it, because I really love the Brandt one.
  16. I also wonder about how to pass them cold drinks. Not dumb at all. When I go in the day sometimes, I feel so warm and stuffy because of all the dust and construction debris around. Then I feel bad that my drinks aren't cold.
  17. Oh, would you mind sharing the link for your flip clock? I really really want one too.
  18. Ahhhh!! I love your place! I love so many things about it I dont know where to start. I love your lights on top of your dining table. You have so many of the things I am eyeing. The stools from Comfort. Your soon to come Butcher's Block. Your fan. Your dining table. The Laundry stickers on the glass! Its beautiful!
  19. My boss also going down this sat. He wants to get a brand new kitchen. I told him okay.. this is the best place for you. Hahaha. Actually i still feel very sim tia about the bathroom stuff that we bought. The Grohe at Internal Affairs sale is really worth it. But I comfort myself that most of my stuff fr Hansgrohe, only the common bathroom stuff from Grohe. Cold comfort la..
