Dear all, This is my first blog entry. Like all, I've begun meeting IDs. 1) BXXX XXXXXX Studio I found this company through googling. I realised many of his ex-customers praised him to the heaven for his creativity. So, I was rather determined to meet him. It's run by a bloke called 'BXXXXX'. However, due to his hectic schedule, my meeting was cancelled twice. Finally, after I explained my displeasure, they relented and squeezed a schedule in at the last minute. His designs were the conventional and typical ones that you see. He was very focussed on fashioning a TV feature wall and we did not even manage to finish talking about the house after two hours. We reminded him to talk about the overall items, but he kept bringing our attention back to the feature wall again. We couldn't understand his obsession with the wall. :-( Anyway, it was not a fruitful discussion at all. We strongly believe you need to focus on the overall theme and feel and go through each room slowly for coherence of theme first. The TV feature is not the be all and end all of the house. 2) Rest & Relax 3) De Style 4) Fuse Concept

Excellent post! It's one of the most useful ones i've seen here. -
Hi, that sounds like a good suggestion. However, do you know where i can get a pressure gauge and how many bars would be optimal?
-
I am asking because I've met two IDs and so far they seem to expect me to pay the deposits and contract with them without showing me any proposed designs and 3D layouts. How do you expect me to contract like that? How would I know if the design is acceptable? For all you know, the design could be crap and I would be stuck...

Can this sink be flushed mounted onto the countertop?

The basket strainer and strainer looks different from the usual ones we have. What function does it serve?

Anyone knows where I can see these Kraus sinks that you guys are talking about? I would like to see and feel before I buy. How much more can I save if I were to buy from Amazon?

Hi, I notice that Hoe Kee has tons of different outlets. Which one is the better one? I'm not interested in the normal ones, but rather the unique and creative ones like Blanco and all that. The other time I went to Sim Siang Choon, I was so disappointed. The stuff they carry were horrendous.

It would be good if there were a way to measure water pressure in the pipes. This would save a lot of trouble as we would know before installation if the rain shower would work fine.

Hi, Yes. If the driver and bulb were separated, I would definitely give it serious consideration. Because like i illustrated, 1200 for lights seems very very expensive. Also, the shop I went to was an official Philips dealer and they didn't tell me about the newer models being separated from the drivers. So, I guess it's not offered by philips?

I see. So, just to clarify: There are three types of downlight houings: 1) PLC 2) E27 CFL 3) LED (100% LED only) #2 is the most flexible as it can accommodate the CFL bulbs and also the new Philips LED bubls with E27 screw type. So why do people even bother selling or buying #3 since it's so expensive and inflexible when #2 is more flexible? Pardon me, I know nuts about it and I don't want to be taken for a ride by my ID.

Thanks for sharing Pelect. So, for the CFL, are the designs attractive or am i restricted to very mundane ones? Sorry, why can't I fit LED bulbs into the downlight housings? Pardon me for my lack of knowledge. I mean I referrred to the following link and the LED bulbs seem no different from other bulbs. Why would I need a driver for it? Can I buy downlight housings that can fit LED bulbs instead of LED drivers?

Hi, I was told that the drivers in the LED downlights would burn out in ten years and that I would have to change the whole assembly. Presuming that I need eight lights in the hall, 4 in 2 bedrooms, 4 in the bath 3 in the shower, 2 at the entrance. that's 33 downlights. each costs $40. that means every ten years, I would have to spend $1,200 to replace all the lights? That's quite exhorbitant, isn't it???? What if i use the traditional downlights? Would that mean I only have to replace the bulbs?

Any reliable shops to recommend regarding the installation of Grohe stuff? I went to the official dealer (Marina Square) and found they were not helpful at all. They weren't able to advice what we need for a rainshower and stuff.

Hi, can you share your contact for #3, #5 and the one you are working with now? Sorry. I tried to decipher your asterisks but wasnt very successful. Thanks!
