Day 19 Kitchen wall tiles up. Laying small tiles is really tough work. Floor tiles partially up. Exactly the color we wanted. Happy that the look is coming together! Also bought toilet bowls and water heater from GR Link @ Jalan Besar. Did not comb Jalan Besar, we just zoomed into this store and bought since everyone said the prices at this store is really competitive already. Arino Caprio 1-PC & Baron 1-PC WC which looks exactly the same as Caprio. Baron has a new wc which looks exactly like Caprio but 2 ticks water efficiency, guessing the flush will be stronger, so we got that for the common bathroom. Was recommended Ferroli 30L water heater. No preference on Ariston, Joven or Ferroli. So just got this since it looks pleasing. But seems like not many are using brand of heater.

Day 13 Aircon trunking done. Electrical wirings done. Things have been moving slow last week as tiler wasn't available, schedule too packed. Pending tiling works to start tomorrow. Kitchen wall tile selected Taobao stuffs for kitchen, bathroom and lightings have reached the previous weekend. All electrical stuffs will be delivered this weekend.

hi, we bought them from harvey norman millenia walk. it was a couple of months back already so I can't remember exactly how much coz the invoice only stated a lump sum (so odd). but total bill came up to slightly over 1k. I think maybe it's abt 300+ for hob and 600+ for oven?

Have also bought our main kitchen appliances. Hitachi Fridge Bosch Oven Electrolux Hob Intending to get a Rinnai Chimney Hood from fellow forumer Zero.

We did not custom make much stuffs cos firstly it's costly and we don't really want customized carpentry unless necessary like the shoe cabinet with specific measurements. We prefer to have the flexibility to change as and when and not feel heart pain to change out in future when family formation changes. So we are channeling the funds to be used for other furniture instead. Updates: Doing up electricals this week with aircon installations following soon by this week. Tiler is busy now so can only start work next week. My turn to contribute to this topic and help others. My kohler accessories/sinks/taps and also home lightings have arrived from taobao yday. They are heavy and gorgeous! Amcon did the shipping for me. Just 1 tracklight track came bended so I guess money (S$5) gone down the drain for that. But really relieved nothing else arrived broken. The packaging for kohler stuffs all came with authenticity certificates and warranty (maybe only for mainland), all wrapped beautifully in dustbags. my hubby joked its wrapped like branded bags....Haha Not installed yet though, will share pics on my t blog once they r installed few weeks later! Thumbs up for amcon!

mess starting to form in the living room. Opted out of tiles and doors for the BTO. Picked out floor tiles from Soon Bee Huat (on the right) Overall, it will be white and wood theme for the house - skewed towards the scandinavian theme. While people engaged ID and followed their advice wholeheartedly, we followed our feng shui master's advice wholeheartedly haha.... We need a lot of wood element for our home so it really fits in well with what we have in mind. Some examples like we asked if we could do cement screed but were STRONGLY discouraged, so we left that option out. We needed kitchen walls to be in green, so we are also overlaying the entire kitchen wall tiles with a green-blue shade tiles when we initially wanted to leave it white. Hope it turns out okay!

yes, my contractor told me on the floor plan no black bold line means that wall can be hacked. But beams does not show on floor plan i realized. So you won't not know until you ask contractor or HDB. Or maybe more experienced renotalkers can advise you...haha I'm really no master in this.

yes I needed PE endorsement. Cos HDB refused to approve even though it stated on the floor plan that it was hack-able. A couple of hundreds gone just like that.

I've shortlisted some Kohler sinks, taps and rain showers Only thing I don't dare to order is toilet bowl cos seems like the specs are different from sg, probably won't be able to install here I guess.
