I'm scouting for renovations and this thread looks interesting. I'm just wondering, if we do buy the bulky items from overseas in flat pack through an agent, would they be doing the assembling or we still have to do our own assembly. And i didn't know that freight forwarders will actually provide services for consumers like us! what would the procedure be like to engage them? i'm pretty worried about all the paper work.

But there are a lot of firms offering free consultations nowadays. Are they really not to be trusted? I'm considering bringing my floor plan to scout for a designer this weekend. Now this makes me sceptical.

There are other online furniture stores with clear listed pricing too. My cousin recently bought a furniture package from Velo Furniture Singapore when she relocated here, www.velofurniture.com. They seemed pretty new but has a 6 months warranty attached to all their products so she went ahead to try. Prices seem reasonable too 5 piece set for sgd1988. I shall take a look at the pieces during her house warming!
