  3. hahaha, find this amusing Mayb can create a "what fly in symbolise what" list.
  4. Pardon me but I still cannot get over the 21% increment in the electricity tariff. After reading last Sat ST on the replies by EMA on the price, I am still not convinced by their answers. Some replies quote; <<Crude oil and fuel oil are two different products with two different prices. Crude oil, the raw material pumped from deep underground, is not used to produce electricity. Instead, companies use fuel oil, which is made from refining crude oil. Electricity prices are therefore pegged to fuel oil prices. The oil prices usually mentioned in the news refer to crude oil prices. The pump prices at petrol stations are pegged to crude oil, which is why the recent fall in crude oil prices led to cuts in petrol and diesel prices>> I thought the oil company always gave a different explanation when pump prices go up, saying their petrol prices are not pegged to crude prices but some retail prices. Why is EMA saying differently? Who is right? Or are they just confusing us? <<Asia does not have a benchmark for gas prices. Until its gas trading industry comes up with a gas index, electricity prices will be pegged to oil prices.>> I tot one of the reasons we change to gas for our power station is that it is cleaner and cheaper? And now EMA is talking about electricity price plan in three years time, coupled with the market liberalisation, household will benefit in the long run. I really hope they mean what they say but what can we do, they can always have another 21% increase and give all sorts of fancy reasons. Let's see if oil really reach US$155 by the end of the year and if they don't, they jolly well reduce the tariff.
  5. For the sink (and the toilet bowl), I use the 3M scrub pad (green part) with CIF, only use the sponge side for chrome plated parts so as not to scratch it. So far ok, not too yucky.
  6. Can remove. Just use CIF and a 3M scrub pad (use the sponge side, not the green side). I have been cleaning like once every 2 weeks, still shiny shiny. No choice lah, HDB stuff not exactly high quality.
  7. We wanted suspended kitchen cabinets and lights underneath as well but ID say dun waste money, after a while, won't use liao. So build normal cabinets, more storage space.
  8. Will there be a quality difference btw buying from Homefix/Selfix and neighbourhood shops? Dun think so leh, used to buy from neighbourhood shops to paint during CNY. Transportation fee? A few cans of paint not very heavy also, cash and carry lor. Unless you buying like few hundred cans.
  9. Like that also got meaning meh? My previous hse also got birds fly in, scared it might poke me Sometime got butterflies also? Got one time one cat came in, my dog chase it out. Like that also got meaning???
  10. Not the first time, seen him a few times at the market on sunday morning also.
  11. I got the flyers, free right? (cheepo) Typical civil service mentality, nobody complain, just sit on it, until somebody complain again. I last time also tan(4) jia(4) peng(1) .
  12. Wah, so many people want to see MP, a lot of things to complain Why change so many times?
  13. Very spacious and unique place just that thread tiltle seems a bit inauspicious
  14. Well, not everybody can overcome these obstacles. Last nite, i went down to the hawker centre to buy supper and saw an old man sleeping on the bench, with nothing but a plastic bag of empty drink cans and some personal belongings as their only possesions. A sad sight .
  15. Pai seh for giving wrong info. All along I tot cannot.
  16. Wah, you so good seats! In the VIP suite? Ask the MP why electricity increase by so much?! 21%! How do they justify that? Why base on oil pirce of US$155??? Is it going to reach that level by year end? Or are they hedging it to reach US$155? Aiya, I know nothing you can do also, just voicing my frustrations... Not sure if it is true but remember one time during Michael Schuamcher era that there a small fire during pit stop when they were fuelling his car. But Schumacher was so cool that he just remain sitting inside, let the pit crew put out the fire and then raced off to continue racing. Aiyo, the Ch5 commentator cannot make it leh. During practice, a lot of cars were producing sparks from the bottom of their car and he can say electrical problems <<shake head>>. It is obvousily that the cars were scrapping the track surface due to the uneveness and probably the suspension have been adjusted too low. I was watching Star Sports during qualifying and race day (much better and professional commentary), maybe next year go get tickets and watch live.
  17. Seems like a new set-up, establised June 2008. Nothing special abt the furnitures. What are the terms and conditions when ordering online? Payment terms? Refund/Replacement if defects? Nothing mention in the website. Some of the the furniture do not state the dimensions. Me old fashion type, still prefer to see and feel the furniture before buying.
  18. Duxton prices are really crazily high. Quote from today's ST: <<Pinnacle@Duxton also has 317 four-room units still unsold, which were made available at prices ranging from $457,000 to $555,000. These units are left over from when the development was launched in 2004. The flats were then prices between $289,200 and $439,000 and met with overwhelming response.>> Is the increment in prices justify over the space of 4 years? <<Mr Mohamed Ismail, the chief executive of property agency PropNex, said that HDB "has no alternative but to price at market norms". If they price too low, it will have an impact on resale prices in the area," he said, adding that private homes in Tanjong Pagar cost mostly above $1,000 psf.>> No alternatives on the pricing? Are we comparing apples with oranges here? Private homes are private homes, why compare them with HDB? No you can't.
  19. Long time no update. Our newest addition, french white shelf/rack. Tot the dressing table would be our only piece.
